[ The feed turns on to show the waist down of a dark skinned female, her hands firmly placed on her hips. She's pacing around a couple of moogles, and the camera finally pans up to show Prishe, face contorted into a very fierce expression of pondering. ]

So lemme get this straight-- I'm on a planet called Gaia? And Garland's here? And there's no way to get home?

[ One of the moogles nods, and the Skyphone is handed to Prishe, though she ignores it for the most part. ] That's right, kupo!

Then I'm just gonna have to kick his ass again, huh! Later, moogles! I gotta go find Garland!

[ Her thumb brushes against the device, and the feed clicks off. ]

Greetings, citizens and friends of Gaia.

Good news! We have located the Chaos Shrine, Garland's hiding spot. Turns out that it was hidden right under our noses all along! It's in the middle of the Aerbs Mountains. I've sent airships to scout out the area, but unfortunately the area is so densely forested that it's impossible to land. The Shrine is well-hidden.

But it is accessible. Over the past few months, a few people have spotted Garland riding a flying gold chocobo and now we know why: chocobos are the only means by which the Chaos Shrine can be accessed. So we can't exactly send in an army... Gold chocobos are rare. But we can send a small group of the very best warriors, and that's exactly what I intend to do.

If you can ride a flying chocobo and wield a weapon strong enough to defeat Garland, I want to hear from you! I want a party assembled and ready by the 25th of this month. Chocobo training can be provided. Let's give it our very best shot.

- Cid Fabool IX, Regent of Lindblum

Guys! Guys!

[Rikku is unwrapping a package as she talks. She's nearly vibrating in place, on her ship from the looks of it, parked in Luca since she's been giving Tidus and Yuna some space since their wedding for...wedding things. Eventually she finishes unwrapping and holds up a Crystal Chalice, a big grin on her face.]

Taa daa! I got it!

So, uhm.

[A little pause as she turns it around in her hands some, even giving it the old one-eye-intense-peering moment.]

What do we do with it?

[The beach was in use today, a large section of it cordoned off for the wedding. Not long in the planning, it was still large - the number of friends and family that had to be invited wasn't just a drop in the bucket. Hanging ropes kept the number of benches and chairs that had been found for the occasion and set out in the sand from being knocked over by errant playtimes or rampaging pets, with a small stage set up before the seating where the wedding party would take place with a temporary arbor in back that had colorful flowers wound around it. The actual ceremony wouldn't take place until sunset, but there had been time allotted before and after for people to mingle, friends to greet each other, and generally have a good time.]

[Jecht's general cheeriness isn't present: not today. Today he's all business, all seriousness, as he sits, Sky Phone placed on the floor and looking up at him, somewhat reminiscent of the spheres he left behind on Spira for his son.

A rehearsed conversation, then? You'd be guessing right. He's set up the appropriate filters - to all the Warriors of Cosmos he already knew, and to those he's remembered - Lightning, Kain, Laguna, Tifa, Vaan (though he doesn't register as being on Gaia), and... Yuna - and those of Chaos he's made peace with from the thirteenth cycle, namely, Golbez and Gabranth. Even though the feed has started, Jecht still doesn't say a word, fidgeting, instead. After a minute or so, he finally does speak.]

I've been thinkin' of all the ways to put this. Yer'd... think I'd have figured out what exactly to say with all the time, but, no... not got there yet.

... guess I'll give yer'all the simple version.

The God's war. [A pause.] Y'all know I was on Chaos. But there were bits and pieces that I remembered. Stuff that didn't fit in with the rest. Eventually I got to figurin' a couple of things...

There was another cycle. And that cycle, I was with Cosmos. One of 'er warriors.

[Another pause.] ... everythin' else? Huh. No idea. But it's been comin' back, and now it's all up here. [He indicates his head with a hand.] Who was there, who was fightin'... how I changed to being one of Chaos' pawns.

The Emperor, an' Chaos. [The name earns a scoff.

As to how it lead to that, though, he doesn't say. Jecht tries a few times to say that part, but... comes up with nothing. And... even though this is another of those times that it's terrible to inarticulate about feelings for, on this occasion, he won't say it. He's proud to have saved his son. Proud of what his son achieved. Proud of Yuna, too. Even though that's how he does feel, he says nothing. There's something he needs to know, first.]

Kid? We need to talk. Now.

[And, the feed ends.]

[The message goes out from Luca, to a long list of people that he and Yuna consider really good friends. Or even just pretty good friends. The list ends up being long enough that it might as well have not even been worth it to lock it down, but Tidus doesn't want this interrupted. Kefka might have been gone, but it would just be like Lufene to try something just to cause trouble.]

Hey guys, it's me - Tidus. I know things are kind of crazy right now, but if you can, Yuna and I want you guys to come down to Luca on the 18th. That's when we're doing it - it's just gonna be casual, there's too much going on to do something really big, but if you can get here, we'd really like to have you.

Umm... I guess that's it. Get down here if you can, and I guess be careful if you can't. Good luck, guys - we're gonna beat this.

[The video feed is a bit unsteady, at first. When it stabilizes, it shows a very winded Terra pausing for breath. She winces as she reaches up to shake the sand out of her hair, not having had time to heal herself just yet. When she's able to speak, her words come out in a rush.]

I was out training in the desert, when I saw a large creature lingering near the myrrh tree...a sandhorse. When I went closer to investigate, it attacked...and it's a lot stronger than I remember those being. I just barely managed to teleport away.

[She pauses after brushing away more sand, frowning.]

Something about this isn't right. I'd like to return. That tree is important, isn't it?

[ Today is not a normal day. Rosa wakes up to an empty bed. Her first thought is that Cecil's up early, so she simply goes through her normal routine, washing up, getting dressed. Once she's finally ready, she begins searching for him, just to see how his morning is going so far. When she can't immediately find him is when she starts to worry, but it's early afternoon before she comes to any conclusive evidence that what she's feared has come to pass: Cecil is nowhere to be found.

It's not like him to leave without a trace. He would have told her, or left a note. Somehow, she would have found out. But no... nothing. There's nothing but emptiness.

So, once she's absolutely sure of what happened... she retires to her bedchambers again and readies a text to Gaia's population. ]

Cecil... Cecil has taken his leave of Gaia. I cannot find him. I will govern Troia in his place... as I did before.

[ She will remain in her bedchambers for the entire day, unless otherwise needed. Clearly, this means someone needs to come bug her. ]

[He frowns in concentration, sat cross-legged outside Matoya's cave. He doesn't speak for a minute or so, trying to recapture that face in his mind.]

There was- [He pauses, frown deepening, and rubs his temples in thought before continuing.] -he was a little older than me, but he still acted like a kid. In one of the old cycles, there was a boy who was a little older than me and-

-didn't have a whole lot in the way of common sense. Kept getting himself into trouble, making me bail him out. But- he just acted like he thought it was the other way around and he was the one looking out for me.

[He gives a growl of frustration, hanging his head. Even saying that much was exhausting and he's furious with himself for forgetting something like this.]

-and then he was gone. And I didn't even remember- I can't even remember-

[Come one, come all. It's time for what Regent Cid expects to be the final council meeting before Garland is defeated. A good thing the airship is so enormous, because there are a lot of people here, all picked up the day before.

He stands up at the head of the table to greet everyone. There isn't sitting room for everyone, but the room is big enough for his audience. The meeting has now begun...]

[The video first comes on to show darkness- the Sky Phone is being covered completely by someone's hand. There's the muffled sound of a moogle-explanation in progress. The hand only moves after the moogle's explanation is finished, as the man moves to examine the device. It becomes clear enough why no one could see anything on the Sky Phone's screen- he's huge, especially when compared to the moogle, with white hair and a brown cloak and kilt. It should be familiar to some- as well as the expression of deep thought that goes with it.]

Then this device allows for communication with others.

[Even if they don't recognize him without his armor, that deep voice should be unmistakable to anyone who has heard it before.]

It does not matter. There are only two people I need to find. Is there a way that can be accomplished, Hummingway?

I'm a moogle, kupo! And... looks like it's too late for that.

[The guardian sits pensive, reviewing mentally of the attacks that have laid siege to Gaia. He has a sword, a very sharp one, that has been a little out of use. He cannot sit idly and watch everyone suffer. He could go wherever he wished for many cities had been destroyed, but surely there must be one or two that are still being heavily affected by the aftermath.]

[The feed starts with Regent Cid standing on the deck of the Invincible. Those who are currently on the Mist Continent may have seen this magnificent airship in the sky, as Regent Cid has been busy flying around Lindblum and neighbouring territories in response to the Lunar Cry.

He looks more serious than he has done in some time.]

Greetings, citizens and friends of Gaia.

Over the past few days, I've watched many of you come to Lindblum's aid, and Burmecia's aid, and across the Mist Continent and beyond. We've seen catastrophe on a grand scale here, especially in Burmecia. I'm told the king did not survive... My condolences to his people, and to everyone who has lost a loved one.

But we have to act if that loss of life is not to be in vain.

Which is why I have a proposal to make. Two, actually! The first is a request. There's a wise old woman by the name of Matoya, who lives in a cave on the Forgotten Continent. She's given us useful information before, and my sources tell me she has more to say. I want to know what she isn't telling us. So I'm sending a small party to visit her as soon as possible. If you want to be part of this group, let me know!

Once we have that information, we'll need to figure out what to do with it. That's why I want to invite all heads of state to a meeting on the 21st May. If you have information on Garland, Lufene, or anything that might help, I want you there! Let's put our heads together and solve this problem once and for all. The meeting will take place here on the Invincible, so we can pick you up wherever you are.

Ahem... In the meantime, I would like to assure everyone that we in Lindblum are doing our best to recover and rebuild after the Lunar Cry.

Thank you, and good luck.

[He bows, and the feed ends.]

[It's been a long a week, and Jecht's had a lot of time to think: about many things. First is the giant box in the sky that somewhat shadowed his and his son's steps as they set off down the Outer Continent; what that could mean. Then, there was the blast and the posts on their network: that hadn't boded too well.

But, as well as thinking about all of that, there were the other things. Being on Gaia in the first place. Being alive. Seeing his son, in the flesh, again. The prospect of seeing those who had brought him down... those who had fought alongside once... those he had once knew. It had been a weight on his mind.

And now, he was in Goug, looking off into the early morning light, to the distant shoreline. They were here, and they couldn't keep moving, due to what was happening in the Mist Continent. And now he had a lot of time to think.

And speak to Tidus, too. They were overly due a long talk.]

Action in Troia )

[A while after, he'll be making a broadcast, appearing strained, but maintaining a semblance of strength despite that. He has to be strong, for his people and to wear out the current crisis.]

Those seeking refuge travelling from Mysidia to Troia, do not worry about provisions or lodgings. Troia will be doing all it can to accommodate as many refugees as possible. We've many empty buildings to spare, and those travelling through will receive full care and protection.

[He takes a deep breath. Now for a more personal announcement, though his tone remains brisk. Now isn't the time for personal grief; that will come once the crisis has passed. If he dwells on it now, it might crush him.]

My son is gone... Ceodore has left Gaia. Ursula is likewise missing. Are there any others unaccounted for?
[identity profile] pastglories.livejournal.com
[The video clicks on to a... moogle paw, and the sound of many kupos and the indistinct sound of someone possibly snoring, but the combined kupos are somewhat drowning that out. After a minute or so of this, the camera readjusts to first show the remains of Madain Sari, the Eidolon Wall in the distance, before turning around to show at least a dozen moogles sitting on... well, something.]

It's not waking up, kupo. I've run out of ideas.

I don't know what we should do, kupo. I think all of us have sat on him by now.

I'll access the network, kupo! Maybe someone will know who he is and what to do--

[The moogles chitter for a moment, before they are all suddenly still, and- a thunderous noise erupts from the thing they are sat on. About half of them flee, and the others stay still as Jecht sits bolt upright to be greeted by a camera thrust into his face and a dozen or so moogles shouting 'kupo!!' simultaneously.]

What are ya-- what are ya all doin' on me?!

U-Use this, kupo!

Quick, run away, kupo!

Hey, hey- wait!

[Almost all the other moogles run off behind a nearby rock, and Jecht is left to stare dumbfounded into the phone in front of him.]

[After seeing Moguo's video of Lunatic Pandora, Quistis quickly makes a post of her own, looking concerned but under control. Her tone is curt; the feed is primarily directed towards her fellow members of SeeD, but she has decided to leave it open to all interested parties just in case. With Lunatic Pandora on the move, it's going to effect a lot more than just the members of SeeD, after all.]

Did everyone else see the video of Lunatic Pandora? What are we going to do? I can only assume the usual suspects are responsible. Do we have time to stop it before it causes the Lunar Cry? Is it possible to board it and halt its progress?
