[Marlene and the Onion Knight are playing on the street near the flower shop. A small collection of pony toys with cute accessories are involved, and the knight's busying himself with drawing castles from them to live in on the ground with chalk.

A little way away, there's a group of older children in their mid-late teens. They're pointing occasionally, making just-a-little-too-loud comments about burning witches. They're the reason the two of them abandonned thier usual playing spot to be closer to the flower shop but it seems they followed. For now, they're just talking loudly and so the knight's ignoring them, trying not to make it worse for Marlene than it already is. He points at one of the chalk castle's rooms, trying to distract her from their comments.]

So what do we put in Sunshine Heart's room?

[Anyone could be forgiven for thinking there wasn't a forest full of the birds at the base of Mount Ordeals with how Porom's been jumping at every little sound and demanding to know if Ursula thinks it's a chocobo. Apparently, hearing that they're expected back soon only managed to make her fret more. Which is quite the achievement, considering how much she was fretting already. In fact, she's so busy wondering if non-chocobo-related sounds are chocobos that she almost manages to miss their actual return.

Almost.

It's probably a good thing that she managed to get some rest and that wearing herself out isn't an immediate danger anymore. Because, well. Doublecasting curaja before actually checking if anyone's injured.]

[There was something to be said for being able to fight on familiar ground. Quistis had been grateful for it in Dollet, but truth be told, even having spent time at the Tomb of the Unknown King before, she wasn't sure she could ever think of it as familiar. The sameness and general monotony of its architecture was far more confusing than not, even for her, and yet they steadily worked their way through towards the center of the maze, where she had been told the coveted myrrh tree would be standing.

A loud growl, belonging to a creature much, much larger than any of them could ever hope to be, sounded from not too far away. Proof that they were not alone. Of course, a Guardian had been expected.]

Is everyone ready?

[Ceodore hadn't been joking about how bad the Myyrh Tree's guardian was. She'd not been injured more gravely than her magic could heal but it had been a long, exhausting battle. Fighting again, at least for the next week or so, was out of the question, as was casting any of her stronger magic at all. Experiencing Tellah's end for herself was a very real possibility if she did and she doubted that even her brother would want to follow in the sage's footsteps quite that closely.

She can't quite remember whose idea it was to keep her in the Skysea, where people are around to prevent her from using magic until she recovers. But it's probably a good idea, even if she doesn't think so - she does have a habit of doing very stupid things if left to her own devices when exhausted. It does, however, mean that any last-minute decisions to aid in the fight against Garland are out of the question. And so instead she's fretting at Ursula. For about the fifteenth time, she buries her face in her hands and-]

I should have gone. I know it.

[ Blank had been planning to visit the Royal couple for the longest time to meet the new arrival. He'd held off awhile, knowing they'd probably be bombarded with guests and appointments and not to mention all the world stuff too.

He couldn't wait to meet his tiny niece, it was so exciting. He never thought Zidane would be one to settle down. He should've known once Garnet came into his life it'd change him for the better.

He lingered by the castle entrance, waiting for the guards who still saw him as 'that one thief' to leave so he could get in without any trouble. ]

[So Rinoa is here like she promised, to visit Zidane and Garnet. She's still not popular in Alexandria and this is obvious from the suspicious way the guards treat her, but they're under orders and they escort her into the castle to meet the king and queen. It's all a bit more formal than she'd hoped. Where are they?]

[Mikoto has also promised to visit the royal couple and so on a different day she too arrives, feeling a little overwhelmed by the size of the city compared to her village, although she does a good job of not showing it. She's definitely curious to see her niece. The idea of having an addition to the family is strange to her, but it's not unpleasant. She's sure Amber will be much better company than Lufene anyway.]

[It's summertime in Luca and the city is bustling. Tifa might be at home, cooking dinner or chasing the cat or practising her martial arts moves out in the garden. Or she might be at the flower shop, where she's been lending an occasional hand since Aerith vanished. Or she might be at a cafe in the city centre where she recently got a part-time job as a waitress.

Whatever the case, she's always open for friends or strangers to bump into her.]

[ooc: Yeah, so this is basically just a 'make up whatever you like' post to thread with Tifa. Backdate it, forward date it, whatever's convenient. Cloud, if you want to meet Tifa, we can do the reunion thread here! Also up for family stuff, friends visiting, meeting random strangers in the street and so on. Hit me!]

-And you just press-

I know of this place.

Oh... you've been here before?

Yes. [ The camera registers the annoyed look on the Viera's face as she takes the sky phone and turns it over so the rest of the world can see the piece of glass she's holding. It's a magicite shard, but she doesn't know that. ]

[Perhaps half a day after Excenmille has set off to retrieve Rahal, he's managed to battle the obvious nausea which is part and parcel of travelling via airship. He enters Oilvert without much circumstance -- the monsters within not even putting up much of a fight. Magic has never been his forte, so going without means absolutely nothing to him. He traverses the halls of the old place, knocking down whatever rises to attack him - eyes keen and senses sharpened.]

[ Prishe is weaving through the crowds, Skyphone in hand, mission on her mind. He was here, and she was going to find him before he really got into trouble. Thing was, the place was pretty big and she was getting distracted fairly easily by everything around her.

She was getting snippets of memories of another world, a giant market place in a large city -- but as soon as they came, they were gone, and her curiosity with it.

At any rate, she's looking for the Warrior of Light, or anyone who might be with him. ]

[After a long period of time, perhaps a month -- perhaps half a month -- the measure of protection he's had commissioned from his own protective armour is complete. He's checked the handiwork by the qiqirn jeweller-- the only measure of protection he can afford to spare.

His body is ravaged by marked loss of Cobalt after the battle against the Experimental Lamia still, yet thankfully the qiqjirn did a decent job of fixing his attire, so he can remain protected against the beast within that rages all the more due to the lack of Cobalt and his weakened state. Sadly, his body won't heal. But he can cover it. Only the extremely perceptive would be able to stand half a chance in Hell at seeing the fact he was becoming more and more serpentine as a result of exposure to the lamia as time went on. There's an edge to his voice -- a certain look to his eye. And that is the reason he dismissed Vincent many nights ago. Fear that he would realize.

He stands by the gates of Nashmau, arms crossed about himself. He knows she's coming. There has been no message. No indication. Yet he does have control of the lamia's keen sense of smell.

[After returning from his trip to Figaro and Tida to hunt myrrh for Lady Ritz, Ingus decided it was high time to gather Refia on her day off and visit the young lady she had spoken of at the castle. He had promised her he would come to see her, and now that he was used to the ways of Gaia and his surroundings he felt it was time to do as much.

So Ingus and Refia can be found in Lindblum, on their way to visit Lady Eiko. Unless she finds them first. Feel free to bother them, people!]

[It was hard to believe just a few days ago she had been in Tida, when the sun first beamed down at her and she first smelt the smell of the sea. Well, maybe it was. She had the more valuable reminder being the drop of myrrh, in the chalice still attatched to her waist via satchel, bumping against her leg. The other was the least useful - a scar or two. Despite healing herself, being healed and what not, she had the scars to prove she'd been in Tida, several knocks and bruises, a bandage on one arm and a bandaid across her cheek. It was mostly precauation; most of it had healed now. But Ritz wanted to be sure.

Well, it was partly why she was here in Luca. A bit of sun should do her good, was the logic, before she set out again. It wasn't all purely holiday, either - she had several papers in her hand as she left the airships behind, maps and written legends about the area. Leads on myrrh and their respective trees, specifically. Chasing rumours. Her wellbeing and her plans to possibly knock that wellbeing off balance again. Two birds with one stone.

The sun was certainly welcome after the dark and eerie air of Tida, if nothing else. She strode the streets with ease, following maps and directions and just walking where her feet took her.

Even, perhaps, walking past someone she didn't immediately spot, who she had talked to when she first arrived on Gaia.]

[ Lightning's return to his humble abode was swift, the door shutting behind her rather abruptly. She hadn't come back with what she'd gone out to get--- namely, food for dinner, because she'd no more walked into the shop when all eyes turned on her.

ANd then the whispering began. She only got a couple hints of what was being said, but what she heard (along with the knowing grins of some of the men in the establishment) was more than enough, and she'd turned heel and promptly marched right back to Basch's place, face burning in embarrassment. ]

[Hope's been putting this off for a while.

Well, okay, that's not strictly true. Things have been coming up, genuine excuses that have been keeping him distracted. But there's also been downtime between the craziness, and he knows he's been avoiding this: the talk he needs to have with Snow. He doesn't want to have to rehash this again, but really? If there are things Snow doesn't remember, it'll come up sooner or later. And the fact Hope couldn't just speak to Snow back home was the reason things turned out as ugly as they did. He doesn't want anything like that to happen again.

So, he'll be looking around the house for him today, checking Serah's room, the kitchen, the garden -- anywhere he's likely to find him.]

The moogles have told me that the myrrh tree within the Devil's Road is ready to be harvested...and that there's a dragon guarding it. I have the chalice, so I'm going. Anyone willing and able to wade through that area with me is welcome, but they better be ready. I'm not going to wait for long.

[Since seeing Alexander, Relm's gained a great appreciation for architecture. Which her actual studies are still in a pitiful state, the servants have been whipering about how much she's been taking great care to examine every corner of Figaro Castle, studying the brickwork and the mechanisms and how it would all fit together when diving.

And, for the most part, it is a genuine interest. It just happens to have the side-effect of learning how to use the places where parts of the castle would be moving if it were preparing for a dive as secret passages. If the castle actually dived when she was in there she'd be crushed alive. But it's not diving right now.

If you happen to be wandering Figaro castle at night, you might just hear a muffled metallic banging and scraping from nearby. Investigate?]

[ It had really been Lilisette's idea, and she had been instrumental in getting it all planned out and running. Rosa was grateful to the girl's diligence and cheer, willing to help out wherever needed. The courtyard of the castle was set up with decorations and refreshments, and tables and chairs had been set up as well, in case people wanted to sit down for a little bit. The castle was also being decorated, so people could also wander around if they wanted to as well.

For her part, Rosa had sent Cecil on set duties for the day, periodically checking up on him to be sure he was doing all right and to be sure he wasn't planning on going back before they were ready.

Eventually, everything was prepared, the guests were due to arrive shortly, and Rosa was on her way to fetch her husband. ]

[Excenmille's been reading up all about the situation Gaia faces on mooglenet, and from reading unfiltered posts here there and everywhere has been able to establish a loose knowledge of the myrrh trees, Lufene, Garland, and the spell. And as such, the kid has his target. And the arrogance to actually think he can find and defeat him. So. The post certainly has purpose, as misguided as it is.

...Also, it is accompanied by a background noise of a chocobo chick chirping contentedly. He is busy preparing a meal for it, mashing some unfortunate worms and carrots together into a thick, disgusting looking paste. It's a misconception chocobos are herbivores. Meat helps build strong bones. If anything, it's to be trained in San d'Orian fashion. No, to be molded. Into something strong, and very aggressive. Something that can be used in battle. Shame the poor thing is quite sweet natured and oblivious to this fact. To Excenmille, this little thing is not a pet. It's something that will become a formidable weapon with all care, all patience, and a hell of a lot of work.

Etoile, if you wouldn't mind waiting five minutes--

[Oh, it's recording. He resumes grinding the paste.]

This goes out to any that seek to oppose the sorcerer Garland. As the head of House Aurchiat, a long-standing great house of warriors, I entreat you to make yourselves known to me and to accept me into your ranks to fight beside you. The valour of my ancestors, and the honour of my house upon any world requires that I not remain idle in this matter.

[Cue a happy kweh, and the chocobo chick clambering into his lap and dunking it's head into the bowl of paste -- almost getting crushed while doing so.]

Etoile--!
