[Video feed comes on to show what looks rather like a beach in the background, a dark blue clad arm and shoulder hiding part of a view of the ocean before the screen shifts to frame the head and shoulders of the man holding the device. Dark eyes glance toward the screen briefly before returning to something off screen.]

Thank you, I think I understand now.

[the feed briefly cuts out for a little while and when it comes back on the view of the ocean has vanished and there's a view of a town not too far behind him now, some people might recognize it as South Figaro.]

It would appear I'm no longer on Gaia, well...my Gaia..from what the moogle told me previous, I understand that this phenomenon has happened often enough for them to come up with a term for such displaced people.

Are there any other "sky people" out there whom would be from my own world?

[This is the Chaos Shrine. The old, derelict Chaos Shrine which looks like it hasn't seen a good cleaning in a couple thousand of years. And in the middle of it is one Lufene, looking bored and sulky. Oddly enough there's a lot of expensive decor in her vicinity. Is some of it various auction goods that mysteriously quit being up for bid? Either way, her cheek is resting in one hand with a pout firmly fixed on her face, the other hand is lazily twirling one of her long curls around her fingers.]

It took you fools long enough to figure it out. For idiots who claimed to want to know the whereabouts, you sure didn't seem to inclined to find out when you had your chance.

[How does she know about Cid's locked-down post? She's got the Treno auctioneer in her pocket of course. She lets him live for the bargain price of first pick of the auctions and any information he thinks she might want.]

[The video feed is a bit unsteady, at first. When it stabilizes, it shows a very winded Terra pausing for breath. She winces as she reaches up to shake the sand out of her hair, not having had time to heal herself just yet. When she's able to speak, her words come out in a rush.]

I was out training in the desert, when I saw a large creature lingering near the myrrh tree...a sandhorse. When I went closer to investigate, it attacked...and it's a lot stronger than I remember those being. I just barely managed to teleport away.

[She pauses after brushing away more sand, frowning.]

Something about this isn't right. I'd like to return. That tree is important, isn't it?

[Cissnei's been busy trying her best to repair and help people in Lindblum. In fact, she hasn't had much time to think about anything else. But, she needs to discuss the issue at hand with the Chalices and the new information that's come in.

She's sitting in the warehouse, turning the Chalice over and just trying to figure out more.]

((ooc: sorry for no earlier heads up but this has been long overdue~))

Wake up, kupo! Wake up!

[The sound of someone being shaken slightly along with a soft groan or two.]

Hey, I think he's waking up, kupo! Mister! Mister!

Hm...?

Hello! Here you go, kupo! You're on the Skysea and I know you got some friends here, kupo! You've been here before. Anyway, have a nice day, kupo!

[Okay. What? The phone makes a sound as it is picked and soon a very tired look Genesis is shown. He's also very confused. He wasn't on a beach before! And what the hell was a Skysea? He just takes a deep breath, turns off the phone for a few minutes to compose himself before turning it back on. He's standing now, the sand brushed off his coat.]

Awakening to a floating beach is not what I had expected. I have been told I was here before, though I do not remember it. An explanation would be nice.
[identity profile] glorious-mercy.livejournal.com
[If anyone had asked, Sephiroth would have been hard pressed to actually pinpoint what had woken him up, but really in the end, it mattered little if it had been the sunlight, scent of clean salt air or the sound of water and people moving about. What mattered really was the fact he was rather obviously not where he'd originally lied down to rest and it was painfully obvious within seconds of the cat-like eyes surveying his surroundings that he was in no city or landmass that could be found on the world he was from. The appearance of an actual live moogle and the news it brought merely confirmed the suspicions that he wasn't anywhere close to home.

Once the creature had left, he considered what it had stated on the fact that there were others here that were not originally from here. So it was validly possible those from his own world were here and perhaps might be able to answer questions he had refrained from bothering the moogle with.

It took merely a moment's study of the phone before it was turned on, the video function showing the General in uniform, standing on some high stone platform with an impressive view of sky, sea and various bridges wrapped around and connecting the various stone structures behind him.]

If any ShinRa personnel are in this world, I would appreciate it if you would contact me.

[That said, he turned the feed off and decided to turn his attention toward investigating the town he was now in until someone contacted him and in the event that no one did, perhaps he would find someone else to pose his questions to.]

[What comes on the screen can only be found in one place on Gaia, the deepest point inside the Iifa Tree on the broad platform now used to view the Farplane. But the focus isn't on the flower field hovering in the distance on the far end of the platform, but rather the sheer expanse and depth beneath the tree proper, and what looks like a coursing, green river of life that shimmers. There is so much of it that it appears to drop into the world forever, filling its core.

Meanwhile, Dah Vis and Hana Kohl are arguing about the nature of the pulsating liquid below.]

I dunno, it looks like myrrh to me.

But that girl said it's a Lifestream.

I still say it looks like myrrh. Look at it!

Go get the chalice.

[The view changes to Dah Vis placing his chalice on the floor of the platform. Unlike most of the chalices scattered around Gaia, this one is completely full. They've not had much else to do in Gaia but travel and swindle and get some myrrh at their own leisure. The chalice wobbles, then the crystal on top breaks out into a blinding glow. Streaks of light shoot out from the top of it,  and then arc directly into the Lifestream below, as the chalice empties.]

Well I'll be...

Now what do we do?

((ooc: Again, plot relevant post. Threadjacks and talking amongst yourselves is highly encouraged. Especially for the VII and IX crews with the talk of Great Crystals and Meteor.))

[Now that the initial tide of monsters has been dealt with, Quistis has chosen to investigate the damage done to Alexandria, it being one of the nearest cities to where Garden's residents had taken up arms during the Lunar Cry itself. The city itself is livable, but she notes the obvious damage done to the houses along the cobblestone street she is standing in and frowns to herself. Since city walls mean little to fiends, she's seen a number of monsters as she's walked the streets as well, though the Alexandrian guard seems to have been dealing with them efficiently. She sighs to herself. It certainly could have been worse.]

Does anyone have a status update on Lindblum or Treno? How are the other cities on the Mist Continent faring?

[ The video is shaky at first, and...upside down, like the person using it can't seem to get the camera where he wants it. ]

Is this thing? What, oh, jeez.

[ Zack turns the camera right side up and manages it better. His face is there, smiling apologetically. He looks a bit harried. ]

Hey! This is working right? Yeah? Yeah, I think so.

A-anyway, I don't know how safe this is to use, but...look, the moogle explained what happened. R And then gave me this weird bell! [ He holds it up and rings it, looking confused about why he even has it. ]

Another world, but, I really can't stay here. All the people look the same! And they have tails! What is that!

Oh, right.

I have to get back to a place called Midgar.

Um.

Help?

[ooc: this is the bell Zack has, if any of you are curious! When he rings it, it sounds like the ones that are used in Gizamaluke's Grotto.]

(This will be date/time-tagged to the morning after the fall of the Adamantoise and the rest of the baddies)

[He'd taken refuge after the battle in his warehouse, the lingering smell of saltpeter and sulfur clinging to the walls and anyone in the building.  Sleep had been difficult to come by, but eventually, after hours of listening to the world outside for any sign of growl, snarl, or thud, he succumbed.   When he woke, he took a good look around.  Tseng was at his side - it was hard to tell if he was actually asleep, or just resting his eyes.  Rufus as well.  And anyone else who had decided to take shelter in the locked door of one of the few buildings that hadn't been overcome.  His own fingers were curled around the shaft of his Tower, much as he'd rather be holding onto the two forms so nearby him.

He gave them all another look, quiet for once, and stood shakily, brushing bits of dust and gunpowder from his worn clothes, then headed for the door.  He listened, then carefully unlocked it as silently as he could, slipping outside into the daylight and closing the door behind him as softly as possible.  The scene around him was breathtakingly awful.  Buildings were rubble.  Some were smoking from fires that had sprung up from the damage.  Their manor, what little of it he could see from there, was missing part of its second story, and much of its roof.  And it'd been spared some of the worst damage, too - a few feet to the side of it, the building it shared a yard with was scattered stone and plaster - and nothing more.

This - this place had become his home in the short months he'd been here.  Yes, it wasn't his true home.  But it was something he'd gotten used to.  Something he'd fought to the teeth to defend.  Lindblum had been dealt a horrible blow.  But she was still standing.  She'd been knocked to her knees, but she drew breath even now.]

.... Where to start? ...

Reno, I want you at the Business district. See what you can do about the monsters.

Cissnei, take the Industrial district and do the same.

[The video feed is far from stable, but one thing is certain; Lindblum is in chaos. Townspeople are fleeing for their lives, as a large swarm of assorted beasts overtake the area. They are many, and random; Coeurl, Flan, Malboros, and so on. Gloating, floating orbs known as Entites also roam the area, usually benign but eager to attack those that use magic in its vicinity. There's even something...enormous...offscreen, something that's causing the ground to tremble violently with its every step.

Mjrn pauses for a moment, catching her breath as she ushers people onward. Her free hand grips her spear tightly.]

Run! I will cover your retreat--

[She finally stares into the screen, as calm as she can be considering the circumstances.]

Lindblum is overrun. We require immediate aid--

[Her voice is drowned out by something screeching overhead and then there's no more time for messages. The Viera's forced to drop her sky phone, and the last image it carries is of her long feet as she crouches, then leaps skyward. It's time to fight a dragon.]
[identity profile] whitecladprince.livejournal.com
 Reno, Cissnei.

While you're out, investigate these Myrrh trees that I keep hearing about. They seem to have some sort of significance and I wish to find out what.

Thank you, that is all.
[identity profile] dewdrop-pebbles.livejournal.com
[Mjrn definitely seems a lot better since she was first rescued from the Devil's Road. All of her injuries have since been treated and being dead to the world for a little while has done wonders for that exhaustion. She's seated at the edge of one of the infirmary beds, having slipped into her regular attire. Her travel pack rests at her side.]

My thanks to all those who delivered me from the Devil's Road. I owe you my life.

[A small but genuine smile forms at that, her gratitude far from reluctantly given.]

Now that I am rested, it seems I have a considerable amount to learn. I have been absent since November, and wish to learn all that has transpired since that time. If any might grant me insight, I would be grateful.

[Oh, and one other thing. She withdraws from her pack a chalice, which by now must be familiar to some.]

I discovered this relic among my belongings. It seems familiar; were there not more than one in Gaia?

[Now that Mjrn is largely recovered, she's on the move. The young Viera departs the infirmary, intent on seeking her sister and friends. It's not enough to thank them over the Sky Phone and she knows it. Besides, she would prefer to catch up with them in person.]
[identity profile] turks-reno.livejournal.com
[The screen flickers to life, focusing on a concerned but calm redhead. Behind him, there appears to be a field filled with high grass and some flowers.]

Hey, everyone. Just checking in and making sure everyone's all right. I don't know how long I'm gonna be here, but I'll hurry home the moment I can. Till then, I hope you're all safe and whatnot.

[He lifts his head to whatever's going on in this strange dream-world, then shrugs and smiles thinly.]

It's interesting, at least.
[identity profile] shurikenfemale.livejournal.com
Yes, I know how to use it, I've been here before. Don't -!

[The feed clicks on, showing Cissnei wearing a certain little white number and a look of slight shock. Crap.]

Do that. [She sighs lightly and rubs the bridge of her nose. This headache... How did she even wind up here anyway?] Thank you and yes, I'll be fine. [Cissnei shuts off the phone as quickly as she can and immediately dials a number she's had memorized since the day she got here. Ring, ring, Reno, please by all the gods in the heavens answer.]

[After the events from earlier that morning, Reno cleaned up the kitchen, cleaned himself up, then hunted Rufus down.  After all, the President had wanted to speak with him, and it wouldn't be good policy to keep him waiting long.  Since the only door shut was Rufus' bedroom door, and he didn't appear to be in any of the open rooms, he rapped on the wood in hopes that he guessed right.]

[The screen flickers to life, to reveal a blond-haired, white suit-clad man looking over his shoulder at a moogle who is flitting away. When he turns back to the screen, his expression is one that is far from pleased. Blond bangs are combed slightly off to the side, underneath which bright, icy blue eyes glitter with anger. He cannot be older than 23, surely; more likely around 20 or 21. He glances around him once more, taking in the scenery. He is surrounded by blue, and as he exhales, his breath makes little white puffs of steam in the obviously chilly air.]

What is going on here.

If anyone is there, I would sincerely appreciate an explanation other than what that moogle just told me, preferably one that actually makes sense.

[His attention is once more drawn away from the camera, upwards this time, following something moving above him. As it moves past behind him, it can be seen to be a dark figure in armor on a golden chocobo, flying through the treetops. He turns back to the camera, an eyebrow raised incredulously.]
And if anyone wants to explain that, it would also be much appreciated.

**[EDIT: ooc: Continuing canon reviews reveal that Rufus is apparently 25, not 21. My apologies.]

As you're all aware, Sephiroth has arrived on Gaia. He called me earlier tonight and I can safely say he has no idea what went wrong in Nibelheim.

Here's where the difficult part comes in. He kind of interrogated me and I only gave him half of my story. If we want to keep him stable, I suggest we all have the same core set of facts. I told him there was an accident at the Mt. Nibel reactor that left me and Cloud badly injured, so much that we passed out and were picked up by Hojo. And from there we were missing in action for four years.

When he asked where he was during all this, I said I didn't know. If you have a fitting excuse then let me know so we can continue to match.

Please verify that you have received this and understand.
