[The feed, for a few minutes, is simply a cave ceiling. It's not even moving; if you look at it long enough, you can perhaps devise that the phone fell from someone's possession and landed on the ground, from the vantage point you have.

After some time, there's a cough, and a wince, followed by the slight pitter-patter of what can only be moogle feet, which is soon confirmed by an alarmed-]

Kupo!!

[To which a pom pom bristles into view and out again, as the moogle heads towards the direction of the continued wincing. The person who is obviously injured by this point says something, undistinguishable to the phone. More conversation passes, until there's a lull. The pitter-patter of feet follows, until the moogle assumingly spots the phone, his pom pom swishing back into view. The moogle soon retrieves it.]

There's a person near the entrance of Semitt Falls, kupopo! I think she's injured!! Maybe it had something to do with that monster that was here, kupo? It was guarding one of those trees! I haven't seen it, though...

[The moogle swivels the camera.] Does anyone know her, kupo? [The camera focuses on Ritz - and just as the moogle returns to her with the phone, her eyes slip shut.]

[The warrior looks worn out but solemn. It's difficult to explain what exactly happened at the Chaos Shrine- especially because he might be the only one who really understood what Garland was doing.]

Lufene is a threat no longer. However, Garland... or perhaps I should say Chaos... escaped us. He was nearly defeated, but four elemental fiends [and there's a pause here] Lich, Marilith, Kraken, and Tiamat... appeared before he could be finished, and transformed him into Chaos, then disappeared.

Chaos and Garland are one. Once, he created a cycle, where he was sent to the past by the four fiends, and became Chaos... only to send the fiends into the future. This cycle brought darkness to the world, and to the crystals. I- we- [There's a pause again, as the warrior tries to think. Some parts of the memories still aren't clear.] The warriors of light traveled into the past, to end the cycle, so that the world might be returned to its proper state.

That is the reason for Garland's transformation.

[And after one final, long pause;] I had heard that there was one of the myrrh trees present in... what was Matoya's cave. Has a drop yet been collected from it?

[After returning from his trip to Figaro and Tida to hunt myrrh for Lady Ritz, Ingus decided it was high time to gather Refia on her day off and visit the young lady she had spoken of at the castle. He had promised her he would come to see her, and now that he was used to the ways of Gaia and his surroundings he felt it was time to do as much.

So Ingus and Refia can be found in Lindblum, on their way to visit Lady Eiko. Unless she finds them first. Feel free to bother them, people!]

[Video streams from Warjilis via one of the guards showing a Dark Blue chocobo swimming into the harbor.]

[Delita can be heard calling to the chocobo with a gysahl green in his hand.]

Ardi! I am pleased that you have returned.
[identity profile] whiteblessing.livejournal.com
[The trip to Figaro had been largely uneventful. Save for the fact she was exhausted by the time she got there due to carrying so much - chalice, potions, elixers, anything that could be of use - Ritz arrived with good time. She was being met there by her companions, after all: it wouldn't be good of her to be late.

The prospect of the monster was something she mulled over often since learning of it, thinking of varying strategies to take it out. Though she was fairly calm and analytical when it came to the subject, there was a part of her that felt... excited at the prospect. A proper fight... she hadn't fought with the accompanying adrenaline rush since before leaving Ivalice. It would be good, to test her mettle and her abilties once again.

The more time she spent on Gaia, the more she knew she didn't want to leave, and that was her resolve to collect the myrrh. Though she'd adjusted back to St. Ivalice, that she knew she had a future there... this was the kind of world she loved. A surprise everyday, so many different kinds of people. It was selfish, perhaps, but it would also be selfish to go home and damage this world further, which she couldn't do.]

[ooc: seperate threads for meeting up in figaro and fighting in tida sound good to everyone? i'm open to ideas! :D]
[identity profile] whiteblessing.livejournal.com
[The camera is shaky at first, before it focuses on Ritz. Ritz is looking rather pleased with herself, studying a map of Gaia in what seems to be Guadosalam. Smug, maybe, but in reality, just overly pleased. This is soon explained when the camera shifts from her to the Crystal Chalice by her side. Clearly, she's not aware it's recording, and is talking to herself.]

That takes care of one thing. Now, for Myrrh trees... didn't you say there was one in Tida?

Kupo! [It seems she's coerced a nearby moogle, who is now taking the opportunity to film her with the phone without permission.] My friends said there's a strange monster that looks like a house! Sounds scary, kupo. It's like the other myrrh trees... kupo... maybe the myrrh tree is ready?

Well, it's fairly close. It should be a sinch. Might be worthwhile asking for some help, though- [Ritz finally looks over from map studying. Her expression completely changes.] -HEY!

I-It's not recording, kupo! Honest!

[The phone is snatched away by Ritz and the feed ends to the moogle attempting (and failing) to scurry away.]

[Frimelda looks pensive, as well as worn. She has, admittedly, just had the first decent night's rest in several weeks, but she's not allowing herself to rest for long in Lindblum. There's something that's bothering her.]

On the return from the Earth Shrine, the airship passed over Burmecia. The air was not still... whilst we passed over, a Dragon of sorts could be seen in the sky, and, near to the surviving island.

[A pause.] ... There was a myrrh tree on the island, was there not? Perhaps it was serving as a guard? [Another pause.] Regardless, it needs to be dealt with. I would wish to return with the proper aid, in the near future... and a crystal chalice, if one can be found.

[ooc: let's go fight Silver Dragon: commence! Cecil was up for this before, Stella, Silk, are you still up for sending Golbez and Rosa? I would probably put something up next week.]

[To have heard rumors of the tower in the taverns of Ivalice was one matter. Another still to hear of it from the lips of her companions who ventured into the depths of wilderness to see the rumored Wonder. Yet to see it with her own eyes and from the air as they approached the island is a humbling and awe-inspiring event. The aerial approach shows that it is not at all possible to reach the top by any means but foot, having no other berth for landing save the unkempt grasses surrounding the labyrinth.

Upon setting foot at the gates to the guardian maze, Reis looks to her companions for one to play the leader. Her need to find answers has brought her here, yet others are familiar with the grounds if it be the same as they have known.]

Now that we are come, it is the tower known to you?

Greetings, citizens and friends of Gaia.

I have news for you all regarding our quest to find and defeat Garland. I also have a request to make.

We have learned that Garland may be found in a place called the Chaos Shrine. But to locate it requires the use of four elemental crystals, which I have now obtained. These crystals must be placed in the elemental shrines: Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. However, the shrines are guarded by fearsome monsters.

I wish to put together four teams who will each take a crystal and place them in their respective shrines. All transport will be provided, and my finest Lindblum guards will escort you to the entrance. If you volunteer, bear in mind that you will be facing a tough battle - one that you must win. We can't afford to lose the crystals.

These teams will be sent out a week from now, on 11th June. Send me a message here if you want to go! We need all the help we can get.

But that's not all. After the crystals have been placed, a party must journey to the Ronka Ruins, where I'm told that there is a device which can be activated to show the way to the Chaos Shrine. That is our goal: to find the Chaos Shrine. Again, I must warn you that this will be a dangerous and difficult mission. I want to send out a party as soon as possible after the shrines have been beaten. Tell me if you wish to go!

After that, we'll reconvene and consider how to defeat Garland. I have no doubt: it can be done. To everyone who volunteers and all those who have ever helped to protect Gaia in even the smallest of ways, you have my gratitude. Soon we'll see our hard work rewarded.

- Cid Fabool IX, Regent of Lindblum

[ The feed opens rather abruptly to that familiar pitch blackness that can only ever be caused by a wayward hand or paw. A most unpleasant sort of static follows, effectively muffling the words of whoever is speaking over the course of the next twenty seconds. Within that time, the paw obscuring the Skyphone's camera shifts and prompts a burst of color that whorls for a moment as a result of the phone's subsequent movement, then comes to an abrupt halt with only a single digit cutting a corner of the image from view. Anyone familiar with the streets of Lindblum's business district may very well recognize the structures in the background and the sounds that come with it; though, they are somewhat dim compared to the voice that cuts through the static with a single word. ]

Lindblum.

[ That the name comes so easily to the unseen speaker causes one of the moogles to literally stop in his tracks in view of the camera, his pompom bobbing from the force with which he does. The static begins its recession and the voice becomes clearer, strong yet feminine and somewhat... different, if you happen to know its owner, in that it does not carry its usual force. ]

That's right, kupo! This is Lindblum, but how did you know? I don't think we said --

Gaia then.

[ It is said with some finality, but none of the emotion that might be expected to accompany such a realization. There is no anger, no frustration, no joy, no relief to be heard. In their place is simply acknowledgment. Nothing more, nothing less. The moogle currently in view turns his head with an expression of hopeless bewilderment toward the camera. Another voice cuts through the hustle and bustle of the business district now, most likely that of the moogle holding the Skyphone. ]

Nevermind that, kupo! She needs medical attention right away! Just look at those injuries! Go get help, kupo!

O-okay, kupo!

[ And off runs the moogle as fast as he can, quickly vanishing from sight. For a moment, the street is all that can be seen and heard, and then -- ]

Please sit down, kupo! He'll be back soon with a healer, but it'd be bad if you fainted before he got here. So please, kupo!

Is that a Skyphone?

[ What immediately follows is more of that unpleasant static, which effectively masks the exact words being exchanged. If the tone of the moogle's voice is any indication, though, the woman either isn't hearing her or isn't complying one and the moogle is becoming quite upset for it. A short burst of static, possibly resulting from a sigh, precedes a sudden whorl of color. When it stops, it is obvious that the device now rests in the hands of a human woman -- blond, her hair styled in the fashion of an age long since passed, with amber eyes and a face not unpleasant to look at should one look past the blood and dirt that stains her right cheek. What's more is the bruising along the right side of her temple and neck and what blood seems to be trickling down the latter from behind her right ear; and yet, she stands straight and seemingly composed, unfaltering as she regards the camera. If she is in pain, she does not show it, the knight's resolve now visible in her eyes and audible through her voice despite something of her earlier tone that lingers. ]

I am Agrias Oaks, captain of the Lionsguard of Ivalice. I would have the aid of any willing to offer it in exchange for my gratitude. 'T was... unexpected, this turn of events. [ And that is all she will say upon that matter, her fingers seeking the appropriate buttons to end the feed. Having ended the video, she turns just so and gazes for a long moment in the direction she had been looking upon arrival. Although she says nothing, the fingers of the hand at her side curl silently into a fist for her memory of the vision that had greeted her before she opened her eyes to Lindblum. It's only when the moogle implores her to sit again that she seems to snap out of it; though, her thoughts continue to linger elsewhere as she stands resolute. Was it truly...? ]

[The moogle had come and gone. They whole time they had conversed it had looked around nervously, as if it expected something to jump out of the grass at any moment. As soon as he had looked away to inspect the sky phone, the moogle had dashed away. This left him alone in a plain that seemed to continue on forever. No matter where he looked he could see nothing but grass. What had the creature been so afraid of facing?]

Excuse me. [He felt strange speaking into the device, but the moogle had assured him that there were others out there--that they could somehow hear him.] If I could have but a moment of your time.

[He sighs, his hat down low over his eyes.] My name is Ingus. I am a knight of Sasune.

[One moment he had been training his knights, and the next he had woken up in a field of grass. Things like this--they didn't happen, not to people like him. Things like this happened to Luneth, who fell down holes because his head was in the clouds. But not to Ingus.]

I'd be grateful to receive some kind of understanding as to what exactly is going on. [A small scoff can be heard as he pulls back, finally catching sight of what the moogle had feared. A Sleipnir seemed to materialize amongst the grass, grazing. It was only a matter of time.

The camera pans around to briefly show a blur of it as he pockets the device. He had never taken one of these alone, but if this was some part of Eureka... that was quite the fall. The sound of crackling can be heard as Ingus sets flame to his swords. A moment later the dark horse looks up, and their eyes meet briefly before it charges.]

[Something or someone has bumped Eiko's phone and turned it on mid-conversation.]

...think you should ask your father first, kupo.

Are you kidding? He'd take it away.

Well it's not sleeping with me, kupo.

It needs a bed. This is the best present ever, Denzel!

[The conversation is muffled from the two kids ganging up on the moogle to make mischief of some sort.]

Ingus is coming! Quick!! Hide it!

[There's general sounds of scuffles and then the whoomph of the phone being bumped again and turned off.]

[After a journey back across the ocean, Rydia lands the Lunar Whale near the coordinates for Tozus. The large vessel lands smoothly and she steps away from the guiding crystals afterward, turning to her companions.]

Anyone who wants to join is welcome! Otherwise, we'll be back soon and on our way.

[She steps outside and waits for Refia. So far, she doesn't see any sign of the village, despite the Sky Phone's directions. This underscores the need for the white mage who had visited before. It's time to pick up this newest summoner.]
[identity profile] eidolon-soul.livejournal.com
[Rydia's in the main chamber of the Lunar Whale, standing on the steps leading up to the platform. Atop this floats a large, glowing crystal. She regards it curiously and not without respect.]

I wonder if it still functions as it should....

[Her words are soft, likely muttered to herself, but clear enough since she accidentally triggered her Sky Phone that's about to see use anyway. A moment later, she makes good on her intent.]

Eiko, Refia? I'm here.

[She half-wonders if Eiko knows already; considering the size and nature of the Lunar Whale, it's bound to have drawn attention. Since there is no room for the large airship to dock with the others, Rydia has chosen to land it just outside the city. She descends down the steps, waiting just outside.]

This intermission lasted far longer than I had hoped. Seeing that the cast has changed quite dramatically I thought I’d have to re-designate roles. Ah, but what’s this? The star performers are still lingering about? Perfect! How much has the story progressed in my absence? I do hope everyone aspired to make this act a great deal more entertaining than the last. Nevertheless, the succeeding will undoubtedly upstage the former. Before the curtain rises, tell me, should I be highly anticipating what is to come or is an intervention required to liven up your boring little lives?

I see that the Mist has returned. That warms my heart. As your daily lives are infiltrated by the stagnant and tormented souls refusing to flow back into the cycle of life, has anyone taken advantage of the primary use of this ingredient? I have a few recipes that I think quite a bit of you will find useful. Dare anyone seek?

Mother? Father? I'm in Memoria right now. I don't know how but, I'll be home as soon as I can find my way out. Please don't ground me again? I promise I'll even do my math!

My goodness.  Such a mess this place has become....  I need to spend less time hoovering around that auction house, it's not as though I have the funds for many of the items.

Ah, might I ask, has anyone heard from Arc?   He told me quite some time ago that he was going to meet some friends, but... I haven't heard from him in a very long time, and I'm wondering when he might be back.  It's fine, if he's found employment elsewhere, I'd just rather like to know.

Pardon the bluntness of my question, but how would one go about applying for a position as a guard in Lindblum? I have been here some time now, though freelance work simply seems unfitting.

I think I will visit the castle first thing in the 'morrow.
[identity profile] tidesnpcs.livejournal.com
Just when you think you've seen everything there is to see - whumph! A monster cast Mini on me and suddenly I'm in a village I never knew existed. I don't think this place gets many visitors. I might be the first! Stiltzkin the moogle, discoverer of Tozus. I'll tell my cartographer buddies to put it on the map.

The gnomes here sure are friendly. They wanted news of the outside world, so I told 'em all I could and in return they gave me enough gil to continue my journey. I'm gonna head south.

Now I've just gotta work out how to get back to my normal size...

[Rydia is near a window, opening the shutters a bit to peer outside. She frowns at what she sees, which isn't visible but the sounds of monsters and those fighting them can be heard.]

I -think- we're cutting into their numbers, but there's still too many. As though this winter wasn't hard enough on everyone....

[She trails off and stiffens, eyes widening. Then she turns, shouting to someone beyond video range.]

Get ready to open the door! We're about to have more guests.

[Glancing back to the window, she frowns.]

They're not going to make it....

[With that, the screen goes blank as she heads toward the door, ready to buy the group some time. Anyone in Lindblum is welcome to join/intercept.]
