[This might be slightly back-dated. Depends on how fine people would like to cut it!]

Lufene disappeared-

[Rinoa sounds slightly panicky, breathless.]

What's going on outside? Has it stopped? We need to get out of here before the Lunar Cry hits! Quistis, Irvine, are you there?

[When he comes to, Kain really wishes he hadn't. He's sore and battle-worn and laying in a swamp of all places, surrounded by a thick mist. The memories of what he only just experienced come readily to mind. Their battle is over and done, at a great cost, but one he knows was necessary. True, none of his group will ever know the ultimate outcome, but... at least the others have a fighting chance now.]

[He notices motion nearby through the mist and the video picks up the image as well, as foggy as it is. Several monsters have already sensed him and are heading in his direction. There appear to be plenty more beyond that group as well, their outlines vague and eerie. More monsters than should rightfully be in any one location.]

...a horrific afterlife? Is this my fate?

[Gasps in pain a couple of times as he tries to move. But his voice is hardened with determination.]

Then I'll endure my punishment.

[Kain struggles his weary self to stand. That's a monumental task and he barely has time to bring his spear up to defend against the first monster coming at him. He knows he won't last long... but when has that ever stopped him from giving it his all?]

[The video feed is far from stable, but one thing is certain; Lindblum is in chaos. Townspeople are fleeing for their lives, as a large swarm of assorted beasts overtake the area. They are many, and random; Coeurl, Flan, Malboros, and so on. Gloating, floating orbs known as Entites also roam the area, usually benign but eager to attack those that use magic in its vicinity. There's even something...enormous...offscreen, something that's causing the ground to tremble violently with its every step.

Mjrn pauses for a moment, catching her breath as she ushers people onward. Her free hand grips her spear tightly.]

Run! I will cover your retreat--

[She finally stares into the screen, as calm as she can be considering the circumstances.]

Lindblum is overrun. We require immediate aid--

[Her voice is drowned out by something screeching overhead and then there's no more time for messages. The Viera's forced to drop her sky phone, and the last image it carries is of her long feet as she crouches, then leaps skyward. It's time to fight a dragon.]

[The video feed shows a pair of Selkies looking awfully relaxed considering the current state of the world. They're standing in front of the entrance to Fossil Roo, armed and laden with medicinal supplies. Their trading cart's been left behind for now. Hana Kohl speaks up first, although Dah Vis is quick to interject.]

Anyone looking to escape from the Mist Continent can come with us. We'll escort you through Fossil Roo.

As long as you don't mind bugs.

What he means is we'll get you to the Gargant Cars.

[Let the buyer beware. These two are still Selkies and they'll have a price for their services, although they're most likely to spring that on refugees after they've gotten their escort.]

[The video feed is blurred and a bit difficult to see- it seems that someone in Lindblum dropped their sky phone in the midst of the chaos. There is no owner easily visible on the screen. Instead, what's viewable is what looks to be a hoard of monsters. In the center amongst them is a behemoth-like creature, that isn't quite acting like the rest. Instead of charging forward to find other victims among Lindblum's population, it is fighting the other monsters around it. After a few exchanges of blows, the strange monster rears back, and fire erupts around its opponents.]

[The Galian Beast, or Vincent's other two demons, will be found in many places around Lindblum and Dragon's Gate, while there are still monsters around. More rarely, one might find Vincent, or actually be able to get through to contact him.]

[OOC: Chaos icon serving as a generic "transformed" icon at the moment.]

[The video clicks on to show Shelke's face, just for a moment, before she twists it around to reveal the  northern coast of Lanshake Island and the mist continent across the shallow narrows. Several of the Luca city guard appear to be standing nearby as well, waiting. Across the water, the monsters swarming over the continent have reached the coast, and now dozens of them are leaping into the water, intent on crossing over to the islands. A few retreat back onto land, but most appear to be braving the journey...or the larger ones appear to just be walking across the shallower water, including at least one Adamantiose who doesn't even seem to have noticed the water. And that doesn't even count the ones simply flying over the water.]

[A few of the guards shout as it becomes obvious that Luca is not going to be protected by its waterway, and go running off towards the city to warn everyone as Shelke turns her phone back around. She almost looks worried. Almost.]

The water is not preventing the monsters from coming. Anyone in Luca should prepare themselves.

[There is the faint hum of one of her laser swords clicking on as the camera turns back to the monsters, which have almost reached the shore, before she clicks the feed off.]

[Edge looks over the horizon as they approach the Mist Continent. Even he is taken aback when as they get closer he sees it overrun with monsters and nowhere to land. Before he can even think about landing however, the airship is attacked by a swarm of Thrustavarius.]

[He quickly pulls out a shuriken and throws it at the nearest one before responding on his Skyphone.]

We'll here to help, if we can find a place to land.

((ooc: if you wish to be on the Lunar Whale with Edge, feel free to hop on in Alfitaria before he left or he could have quickly picked someone up on his way to the Mist Continent))

Cecil, Rosa ...-Leonora, this is your choice, too.

The Mist Continent is overrun with monsters. Mysidia's walls will stand, hopefully, but many settlements are more vulnerable and seeking entrance to the walled cities is likely to prove difficult in the current state of emergency. Airship travel is just as limited, we can barely see the sky for all the winged creatures above, let alone travel in it.

With your permission, I wish to open the Devil's Road to escort those who cannot fight to safety. If it's too much of a risk then- I will find some other way.

[Public, a little later.]

I wish to arrange an immediate audience with any of the heads of the Forgotten Continent's cities. Please forgive my insolence in not going through the proper channels. This is an emergency.

Anyone outside of the walled cities wishing to evacuate the Mist Continent, travel to Mysidia immediately if you can safely. If you cannot, inform me - I will bring you here myself. You will be evacuated to Troia.

Please, everyone, be safe.

...are there any survivors in the Burmecia area?

Reno, I want you at the Business district. See what you can do about the monsters.

Cissnei, take the Industrial district and do the same.

[On the screen is a very panicked-looking moogle.]

Hey, anyone know a Firion, kupo? Cause if I were him, I'd stay away from the Veldt. Away from the whole Mist Continent altogether even, kupo! There's a big mean looking guy yelling about trying to find him, I think he might be out for blood!

[Sure enough, in the background distant cries of 'Where Firion?!' can be heard.]

Action in Troia )

[A while after, he'll be making a broadcast, appearing strained, but maintaining a semblance of strength despite that. He has to be strong, for his people and to wear out the current crisis.]

Those seeking refuge travelling from Mysidia to Troia, do not worry about provisions or lodgings. Troia will be doing all it can to accommodate as many refugees as possible. We've many empty buildings to spare, and those travelling through will receive full care and protection.

[He takes a deep breath. Now for a more personal announcement, though his tone remains brisk. Now isn't the time for personal grief; that will come once the crisis has passed. If he dwells on it now, it might crush him.]

My son is gone... Ceodore has left Gaia. Ursula is likewise missing. Are there any others unaccounted for?
