CECIL'S PARTY

[ It had really been Lilisette's idea, and she had been instrumental in getting it all planned out and running. Rosa was grateful to the girl's diligence and cheer, willing to help out wherever needed. The courtyard of the castle was set up with decorations and refreshments, and tables and chairs had been set up as well, in case people wanted to sit down for a little bit. The castle was also being decorated, so people could also wander around if they wanted to as well.

For her part, Rosa had sent Cecil on set duties for the day, periodically checking up on him to be sure he was doing all right and to be sure he wasn't planning on going back before they were ready.

Eventually, everything was prepared, the guests were due to arrive shortly, and Rosa was on her way to fetch her husband. ]

[ ooc: party style! tag in wherever and have fun. the main area is the courtyard, but there's also the castle to mingle in. so feel free to mingle around! ]

[As usual Cecil has seen to his duties as he would on any other day, visiting the town and attending to matters in person. While Rosa checking up on him hasn't raised any suspicions of what she might be planning, it is getting late, so it's on his way back to the castle that he spots his wife.]

Rosa? [He smiles at her as he approaches, and slips an arm around her, kissing her on the cheek.] You didn't have to come all this way to meet me.

[Rydia arrives early, but she does her best to find out where Cecil is...and avoid him. She doesn't want her sudden appearance to tip him off to the party being prepared. So, instead she goes to seek out Rosa instead...and this Lilisette. If she can help with preparations, then at least she'll be too busy to give into temptation.]

[As good as her word, Ursula arrives from the Skysea with Ceodore. Duties at their new home won't keep them in Troia for long, but she wouldn't miss her godfather's birthday for anything. As soon as they land, she's ready to head toward the castle.]

[Terra arrives just a little late, though it isn't really her fault. Her airship was delayed. She tries to make up for it by teleporting over to the castle as soon as she's in range. Anyone care to have a flustered half-esper suddenly in their path?]

[Edge had come with Rydia, but as soon as they arrived she took off. All he could do was chuckle. Nothing would ever come between her and Rosa.

He found himself sitting off to the side waiting to see who showed up for the party.]

[Kain arrives quietly and late, and as expected he'll be less around for mingling than most people. He spends most of the time either alone or with Reis in the less crowded areas of the castle... and just a little time on the fringes of things in the courtyard.]

[Frimelda had promised to turn up, and turn up she had. She made good time, and arrived well in advance.

However, once she got there... she wondered just what to do with herself. Parties weren't her area of experience. 'Wallflower' could be a good phrase for Frimelda right now, as she clung to the walls on the chair she had perched on early on, readjusting her armour (she... doesn't have anything else to wear) and checking for her non-existant swords every now and then (they're both back at the inn).

Someone bother her?]

[Reis is spending most of her time either firmly entrenched at Kain's side or hiding away on the far fringes of the party proper. Not that she wishes to appear standoffish, but so many unknown people make her very skittish and at times it takes all her will not to catch her skirts and make a clean break of it. Still, at some point, she'll make herself at least offer her well-wishes to the birthday celebrant.]

[Raine arrives with her small family and at first she can do little more than stare in shock. She didn't realize that people still lived in ancient looking castles. Even after all the time spent in Jidoor and then in her visit to Lindblum, this place is nothing like anything she's seen in her life.

Eventually she finds a quiet place to settle with Brooke to observe the party while her husband socializes.]

[Ceodore's making the rounds to chat up anyone and everyone in attendance. It's a skill he's acquired from his parents and by and large, he's a friendly sort anyway. Naturally at some point he'll be feeding his face. His appetite never takes a break. And for once, he's got his unruly hair tamed and looking nice. Be proud, Porom!]

[To Cecil, the party came as a complete surprise. While back in Baron the king's birthday had been a cause for national celebration, here on Gaia he hadn't been expecting anything like this -- nor did he imagine there would be such a turnout. He would have been content with something low-key, and wouldn't have been offended in the slightest if people hadn't so much as realised it was his birthday. Yet it seems Rosa and Lilisette have told half of Gaia what day today was.

He's glad to see so many faces, familiar and less familiar alike, so he's mingling largely in the courtyard, trying to talk to everyone if he can. In particular the paladin is keeping an eye out for Lilisette, so he can thank the young dancer for all her trouble.]

[This is the first time she's been anywhere but Matoya's and Fum for a very long time. Having come with Raine an Uncle Laguna, Ellone was put in charge of Slai for the evening. So, she's got a little child hanging around with her as they tour the castle. The girl's eyes are round as they take in everything and Ellone's trying to make up stories about kings and queens. They are free to be interrupted, though.]
