CECIL'S PARTY

[ It had really been Lilisette's idea, and she had been instrumental in getting it all planned out and running. Rosa was grateful to the girl's diligence and cheer, willing to help out wherever needed. The courtyard of the castle was set up with decorations and refreshments, and tables and chairs had been set up as well, in case people wanted to sit down for a little bit. The castle was also being decorated, so people could also wander around if they wanted to as well.

For her part, Rosa had sent Cecil on set duties for the day, periodically checking up on him to be sure he was doing all right and to be sure he wasn't planning on going back before they were ready.

Eventually, everything was prepared, the guests were due to arrive shortly, and Rosa was on her way to fetch her husband. ]

[Kain gently rubs at her back, as he continues to hold onto her. Now that they're alone he even lets down his normal guard enough to very faintly sort-of smile at those kisses. That and a contented sigh of relief. Yes, this is much better...]

[One final sigh of relief and most of the tension seeps away for her at last. She knows the problem with the crowds is her issue to contend with and that the guest of honor can hardly be held accountable for the size of the guest list.]

[Kain nods at the remark about Cecil.]

He befriends people easily. It's an admirable trait, one which I've envied in the past.

[Even more so as children, when it always seemed to Kain that everyone favored Cecil all the time over him. But... he sort of understands it had to do with Cecil being better-behaved, whereas Kain... wasn't ever as good-natured.]

[This notion of envy still isn't quite one that Reis can fully comprehend and she looks at Kain in question. Admiring Cecil's amiability makes sense, but the remainder confuses her.]

Admirable, yes.

I believe I prefer your ways instead. I could not be happy always so surrounded and I believe neither would you.

Well... no, I wouldn't be happy like that. I've never been fond of large gatherings of people.

[He looks at her fondly.]

I'm glad that's something we hold in common. Our birthdays can be much quieter.

[The use of the word 'our' draws a tender smile out of Reis. It implies both togetherness and a future, one full of promise.]

[Kain is already thinking they're going to stay together forever. There is no doubt in his mind. Though he needs a while to think about the... ceremonial aspects of that. Give him time though...]

We'll see to it that we have the time to ourselves, then. I promise you that. I'll go anywhere you'd ever wish.

[His hand gently caresses her face, brushing aside stray strands of hair. There's complete adoration in his gaze. He's still at that point of being just... really in awe that he has someone this wonderful for himself.]

[Reis leans her head into that caress, eyes drifting shut for a moment. When she opens them, she studies Kain through her lashes with an intense, smoldering look.]

[That look, those words, all catch Kain's full attention, and he leans in closer.]

[And then moving fully in for a very intense kiss, he can't hold back any longer.]

[Reis responds with a fiery kiss in return, pressing herself tightly against Kain and winding her fingers into his hair. If there is any possibly way to keep them bound closer together, she will find it.]

[It's so very tempting to get rid of all the armor at least, so that he can better enjoy the feeling of... her. As it is, he savors every moment of this kiss. He doesn't want to have to move away either, or ever let go of her.]

[Getting rid of the armor would be excellent, but Reis wouldn't be so bold as to suggest it. As it is, she only reluctantly pulls away to catch her breath before resuming the heated kissing.]

[Breathing, who needs that? Kain is all too eager to get back into the kissing, fully matching her intensity with his own. He'll think about armor later, for now his focus is entirely on her.]
