CECIL'S PARTY

[ It had really been Lilisette's idea, and she had been instrumental in getting it all planned out and running. Rosa was grateful to the girl's diligence and cheer, willing to help out wherever needed. The courtyard of the castle was set up with decorations and refreshments, and tables and chairs had been set up as well, in case people wanted to sit down for a little bit. The castle was also being decorated, so people could also wander around if they wanted to as well.

For her part, Rosa had sent Cecil on set duties for the day, periodically checking up on him to be sure he was doing all right and to be sure he wasn't planning on going back before they were ready.

Eventually, everything was prepared, the guests were due to arrive shortly, and Rosa was on her way to fetch her husband. ]

[She glances around and smiles a little. Despite not being much of a crowd person, she's glad that at least people are enjoying themselves. Cecil, in particular.]

That, we do...and you deserve to have a birthday with friends. I never thought we'd all get to do this after defeating Chaos that first time, so that makes it even more special.

Nor did I expect anything like this, after the war of the gods. It's almost strange, to think we fought together in that war -- and here we are, having something as ordinary as a party.

[An extraordinary thing in itself, really. He chuckles and shakes his head.]

I'm never going to hear the end of being an old man from the others, am I? I'm even beginning to sound like one...

Maybe not, but...there's nothing wrong with having experience on your side. They may tease, but they also look up to you.

Perhaps so. I may not have the abilities I had during that conflict, but I hope my experience will be of use to us in the battles to come...
