Citizens of Gaia,

This is Minister Artania of the Regency of Lindblum. Since the appearance of several new locations last week, we have been conducting a survey to assess the results of this cataclysmic change. I can now tell you that an estimated 10% of the world's population has vanished from Gaia.

These disappearances are on an unprecedented scale. Our condolences go out to all those who have lost family and friends, and those whose livelihoods are under threat. In Lindblum, we are putting together a fund to help those in need. All donations, no matter how big or small, are welcome.

Your maps should also have been updated thanks to our hard-working moogle cartographers. We plan to undertake a more thorough assessment of these new locations in the near future. Please pass on any information you have to me or your local moogle.

Citizens of Gaia, new and old alike,

This is Minister Artania of the Regency of Lindblum. We have received confirmation that the Mist that covers our Mist Continent is not localized to this location, but has once more come to cover the globe.

In light of this knowledge, Regent Cid Fabool has decided to recommission the previously retired mist-engine airships. All airship owners with ninth edition engines or lower are requested to bring their craft to Lindblum for a refitting with an updated engine, allowing for travel both on and off the Continent.

This overhaul will require a great workforce, one that Gaia has never seen before. Therefore, all mechanics, engineers and pilots are requested and encouraged to come to Lindblum to assist with the construction, fitting and test flight stages. All will be compensated for their efforts, with opportunities to stay on the primary shipyard's workforce once the refitting is complete.

We anticipate a return to world access within the next six to nine months with our current availability of workers. With additional hands, this work could be expedited, which is our hope. Please contact the Lindblum Air Ministry to register for a work pass, should this be of interest to you.

This is Artania, and many of you know me as a minister of Lindblum. In the wake of the advent of unknown origin, the Regency of Lindblum has mobilized to assess the situation. As some of you may already be aware, it was last night that a blinding light blanketed over all of the Mist Continent, if not all of Gaia. We received word from both the kingdoms of Burmecia and Alexandria that foreign cities had appeared within their borders, and scouts from Lindblum outposts saw the same within our own.

These cities have undergone extensive investigation during the early morning hours, and they have all proven to be vacant. We have gathered their names from the documents that were recovered in the cities and, like Midgar, they have all been added to the Mist Continent's map. Enclosed as an attachment to this mail is a digitized image of the updated map. Press [ select ] to view it on your mobile device, and [ select ] again once you are done.

For many of you, the mobile device distributed by Lindblum is new technology, of which you are unfamiliar. I have enclosed a short tutorial on the basic functions. Further inquiries can be sent to the MoogleNET headquarters, based in the ShinRa building of Midgar.

To send an e-mail (or a text message), press [ Δ ] to call up the main menu, and select 'contacts' from there. Press [ □ ] to call up a list of options, and select 'send text message'. After that, simply type in your message and press [ X ] to send the message.

To make a phone call, press [ Δ ] to call up the main menu, select 'contacts', and immediately press [ X ] to connect the call.

To post to the network, press [ Δ ] to call up the main menu and select 'connect to network'. From there follow on-screen directions which will walk you through making voice posts, text posts, and video posts.

Remember, if at any time you make a mistake, simply press [ O ] to go back to the previous selection or screen.

We may make firmware upgrades in the future to give your mobile devices more capabilities as the technology advances. At that time, I'll make another post informing you all of the changes.

Presently, there is no cause for alarm but both moogle sentries and Lindblum scouts have come across foreigners misplaced by the advent. Some of them are native to Gaia, others are not. The Regency of Lindblum has passed emergency motions of amnesty for the non-natives, granting them temporary citizenship until further measures can be taken.

If you are one such misplaced person, Lindblum is opening its Business District to those who need shelter and further information on the present situation.

At the time of this message, I am making arrangements to take temporary regency over Alexandria. Queen Garnet and the head of both factions of her military have vanished. Finding their whereabouts are a priority. Please send all information directly to my personal line or to Lindblum Grand Castle.

Regent Cid's young daughter is also among those missing, and we suspect that there are many more disappearances we have not yet been made aware of. Lindblum is attempting to compile a census, and we would appreciate any and all cooperation in the matter.

Lastly, Lindblum's military is in great need of volunteers, in both non-combative and combative positions to help manage this unexpected chain of events. We are in need of scouts, warriors, medics, and other means of support. If you would like to volunteer, please come to Lindblum Grand Castle, mid-level, to be processed.

As, ah, Mr. Tribal so succinctly put it, we will not be requiring you to don the Lindblum guards' 'ridiculous uniforms'.
