[For him, the door opens. He'd actually been on his way outside, headed for gods knew where, but the second his gloved hand touches the knob, a soft chime sounds and instead of the bright outdoors, the scene shifts to a place he thought he'd forgotten.

The video tilts wildly as the skyphone slips from nerveless fingers and clatters on the concrete floor, a quirk of fate setting it on its side, able to view the room at large. Leather swishes as Sephiroth ignores it and steps further within, gazing about as if in a trance. Standing near the desk, he tilts his head and reaches down to pick up a ball of black fur, a very worn, very old stuffed toy.

A light chuckle wafts through the sterile place, followed by a melancholy sigh.]

...hn...I'd almost forgotten.

{ooc: backdated to 1/23 if necessary; welcome to the place where Sephiroth grew up, in the bowels of Hojo's madhouse.}

[In what seems to be a garden filled with multi-hued flowers in the middle of a sprawling castle, is none other than the gentle bard. Seated upon a large stone, Edward smiles into the screen before turning the camera way from him. Now focused upon a nearby flowerbed featuring some of the bluest water lilies anyone ever seen, Edward speaks.]

During my childhood in Damcyan, my mother, the Queen, was quite fond of gardening. She dedicated this section of castle to her green thumb, much to my father aggravation. The King wasn't fond of seeing his queen toil about within mud and dirt, but he allowed my mother to enjoy her hobby nonetheless.

[Turning the skyphone away from the flowers, Edward comes into view again.]

I..I never once thought I would see Damcyan whole again. Much like my dearest friend, great hardships befell upon our homelands before we embarked on our journey to Gaia. To see Damcyan in its former glory again is...

[He paused.]

...Is simply stunning.

[While everyone else had been arriving in Midgar, Yuffie arrived somewhere else. Some of the older people from her world would recognize it as Gold Saucer. Specifically, Round Square.

The Gondola Ride sat unworking in the background, and Yuffie stood there, staring up at it. She mutters.]

That ride made me so sick...

[She shook her head.]

I wonder if that snowboarding game still works. Without Cloud here, I can totally trounce his score!

[The camera clicks on, and for a moment all that can be seen in the rocky ground beneatg his feet. As the Sky Phone moves, however, the speakers are fills with static as wind blows over the device. It clears once the operator finally holds it steady, panning back to show the waste land between the cliffs and the now ruined city of Midagr. It holds there for a moment before moving, his body slowly twisting with it as he does a slow three hundred and sixty degree turn, taking in the rocks behind him, as well as the full view of the city down below.

Despite what one might gather due to his avid filming of the location, he wasn't all that happy to be back.]

Nver thought I'd see this place again.

[And them the view chances. The edge of the cliff can no longer be seen, instead, all that can be seen in the empty, barren land before, along with the city, looming in the distance. The Sky Phone has been laid down, on a rock, persumably, and is now filming him as he stands on near the edge, looking outwards, as if he were trying to spot something. But all he could see was the city.

The last thing the camera picks up is him walking towards it, lifting it once more. He's not even going to ask the question of "how do I get out of here?" because he's pretty sure no one knows the answer to that. Instead, he's just gonna sigh, because he really, really wants to down off of this cliff.]

Who all ended up in Midgar? We should meet somewhere, until we can figure this out.

[Ellone's walking around Garden just to see if she can find anyone. She's been alone for a while and she's currently wearing her red mage hat and holding that weird sword. It feels so wrong but maybe it'll help eventually? Hm, is anyone in this room? She pokes her head in.]

[ On the second day of the Festival, The gates to Alexandria castle are opened (at least, to those who were able to get tickets for the performance). Earlier in the day, the theater ship has arrived -- it's no Prima Vista, but it's elaborate enough, and it does the job. Chairs have been set out, filling the appropriate courtyard, and people are filing into their seats. Perched on the rooftops are those who weren't fortunate enough (by gil or timing) to get proper tickets for the show. And there, up on the balcony of the palace, the queen sits in her 'box', with the captain and general at attention.

It's dusk, before the play gets underway. It begins with a man on stage, giving the introduction to their story. And then the play begins. Playing the lead is Lowell Bridges, a regular Lindblum heart-throb.

It's a story of the struggle for power, betrayal, and star-crossed love. The players are dressed in elaborate costume, speaking an old, formal speech. It's clear to those not native to this world, that this is an Old play. Likely a classic of sorts.

It's long after dark when the performance ends, to thunderous applause.]

[[ ooc: and here's the play! There's not much to it, except perhaps watching with your friends, and perhaps getting into a bit of mischief. The play as performed by Tantalus in the beginning of the game, for those unfamilliar with it, can be found here. Unfortunately, we're having trouble finding the rest, because of the way the play is broken up with other game scenes in between. If you really want or need to know how it ends, go ahead and ask a mod, or, suffer this terrible dubbed version of the intended second half from the end of FFIX.

Alternately, you can read the script over here if you feel so inclined!]]

Greetings. This is Regent Cid Fabool of Lindblum. My young daughter is still missing, and my wife is distraught with worry. When she gets distraught, she tends to transform people into unusual creatures. Ahem. We are still currently conducting a continent-wide search for her whereabouts and plead for her safe return. However, we have uncovered a potential clue to her whereabouts. I am seeking a party of volunteers to investigate the validity of this lead. I believe a group of four to six people are essential to the success of the search. You will be amply compensated for your time and assistance. Please contact the head of our guard if you wish to voluteer your assistance.

Thank you.

((This is it folks, one of the fresh new events we've got lined up for you this month. Sorry to limit the number of people, but there's only so much room on the Gargant car. We're hoping to see a blend of volunteers from across the different canons, but we're happy for whomever wants to participate. Those of you not along for this ride, don't fret. There'll be something for you, and once this event is well underway, we'll be opening up new locations for both play and starting points.))

((Party is now set and closed to new volunteers.))

KU-KUPO! I was visiting a traveler and writing down their information in my book near Cleyra. The sandstorm is gone, kupo! That seems awfully suspicious.

((ooc: If you choose to investigate Cleyra, leave a private note to this account for information.))

Citizens of Gaia, both new and old. I am Minister Artania for the Regency of Lindblum and pro tempore administrator for the Kingdom of Alexandria. In the wake of the events that have changed our world, a portion of the Alexandrian fleet was launched to assess any other possible occurrances in the vicinity of Conde Petie and Madain Sari. I am sad to report that the fleet has still not returned to home waters, and vessels sent out in search of the fleet have only reports of wreckage in the waters.

At this time, we feel it is in the best interest of all Gaians to forgo any sea travel at this time, including any pilgrimages to Esto Gaza. Short distances, including visits to the new location of Luca should be safe; it is the long-distance voyages that are of particular concern, until we can ascertain what has caused the loss of some of our finest vessels.

If you should encounter any survivors, please notify the Lindblum or Alexandrian authorities immediately. We are anxious to see our fine sailors brought home safely to their families.

Thank you.

[The following message is sent out to the network, and is also being broadcast around Lindblum]

Attention citizens, guests and festival goers:

Due to an unfortunate event, the Festival of the Hunt is being ended immediately. If you are out of doors, please proceed to the nearest building and remain indoors until the streets have been cleared.

We are receiving reports that monsters known as Epitaphs have appeared within the city. These stone creatures sometimes produce images of friends or family that are aggressive in nature. If you should happen to encounter one of these, notify the city watch immediately. We understand that anti-stone items and spells to be effective in killing the epitaphs as well.

We regret the need to take such extreme measures at the height of the festival, but the safety of our citizens and guests must take priority. Be safe, and do not engage these monsters if you are not confident in your success in defeating them.

The streets of Lindblum are crowded with throngs of people out to watch the Festival of the Hunt. Carefully, Penelo tiptoes around those taller than herself and eventually finds a nice vantage point to watch the ongoings. It's a charming bridge, with a street passing beneath it in the less crowded Industrial District. A mu zips off below her, with a hunter in hot pursuit. Instead of cheering for the hunter, like the people around her are doing, she wonders aloud, "I wonder if that's edible..."
