[ Lightning's twitching, holding on to her 'letter' at almost arm's length. ] Faris, right?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not interested.

Oh! What exquisite florae!

[Hear that voice? Doesn't sound quite familiar to you? Most of you would remember this lightly haughty tone from days before, but doesn't it sound somewhat chipper than usual?]

This must be some sort of mystic tree or such. Hm, yes. Much like the ancient trees that resides near Giruvegan's sacred grounds, minus the vicious fauna of course.

[The unknown speaker chuckles lightly.]

You there! What's the name of pl--Oh?

[After a pause or two, the researcher lets out an befuddled sigh.]

I wonder why that moogle sped off so quickly...
[identity profile] for-every-task.livejournal.com
[Unlike Cid, Jihl isn't too entirely amused at waking up here at the tree. In fact, that just reminds her that they lost. That in itself was not good for her, nor her colleagues.

The phone jostled to show a moogle looking at her in fear.]

Be gone, will you?

[The moogle runs off, and she brings the phone up to look at it.] This is troublesome.

[And the video feed clicks off.]

[The skyphone has simply been put on the ground, Cid too exhausted to even hold it. He...does not look as if he's in a very good state. Bloodied and singed all over, a crossbow bolt or two in his shoulder, and with no sign of the bleeding stopping. Thank you, disease status effect! He's sitting down, slumped against a rock; those who were in the area with the Lucavi fight would recognize the area as Pinnacle Rock.]

Would...anyone, perchance, be able to bring a remedy to Pinnacle Rock? My potions...seem to have no effect, and my magic is silenced.

[He sighs, closing his eyes as he leans his head back.]

Nabaat....Shemhazai...is dead. That has...been taken care of.

[ooc: Backdated to right after the battle. Solo fight against Jihl kinda fucked him uuuuup.]

-know how it works. I've been here before

[The video comes on as Vincent finishes speaking, to show him standing with a moogle looking over his shoulder curiously.]

If you say so, kupo. That makes my job easier! If you need anything, it's in the brochure. [And with that, the moogle turns and flies off. Vincent ignores it.]

I'm in the Sunleth Waterscape. How long has it been since I disappeared?
[identity profile] animus-concisus.livejournal.com
This headache grows more and more with every passing day.

What is the current state of all the Lucavi and stones? Who plans to stop them? I for one will be personally going after Jihl Nabaat...or rather, whatever she has turned into.

...tch.

[Private to self // Hackable by Rygdea if he so pleases]

I cannot let my mind be overtaken and stressed too strongly, despite the situation.

[He glances down at his right hand, though it's gloved as usual.]

Though I almost have to wonder, depending on Nabaat's strength now... Will I have to resort to that? What will happen if I... Hm.
[identity profile] animus-concisus.livejournal.com
[Phone call to Jihl or...whoever or whatever you are now. Riiiiiiing. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing.]

[The clashing and gnashing of steel is the main focus here, along with the sight of dozens workers scurrying about through what seemed to be an aerial shipyard. Humes and Bangaas alike toiled about, while the moogles could be seen overseeing the activities taking place. It was a chaotic and noisy scene, but if the onlookers listen carefully they could hear a familiar voice speaking.]

Is the prototype completed yet?

[There's a muffled "No" followed by some inaudible words. Whatever was said leaves Halim in mild agitation.]

Why this taking so long? We cannot linger idly while half of the known world goes up in flames. This vessel must be finished before the New Year comes. You cannot expect the Gilgamesh to be only flagship within this armada.

[Apologetic words are offered, but the Marquis let's out a frustrated sigh in response.]

All this talk of sorcery and magical stones has done nothing to aid in our endeavors, but we must press onward.

[Halim let's out a deep sigh.]

At this rate, we'll be sooner in our graves than closer to defeating the knaves that haunt this realm.

Son of a...

Well. Dr. Cidolfus seems to have escaped, and not only that, but he has become something quite different.

Famfrit the Darkening Cloud, is what he called himself.

[He sighs, fingers drumming against the desk he is sitting at. He looks exhausted, hair disheveled and a few burn marks on his skin and clothes; he's just gotten back from Fossil Roo without any time to rest or drink a potion.]

"God Stone bearer"... Is there anyone who knows what that speaks of, or knows the origin of the name Famfrit? Is this another case of possession, just as Ultimecia had done? What a man to chose, and at what a time, if that is the case. While I do not know much of Cidolfus, what we eventually saw before us... I doubt that he had the power to do that.

If you have any information, let me know as soon as possible.

Yuffie, Lightning, Fang, are the three of you holding up fine?
[identity profile] sonoffigaro.livejournal.com
[When the video starts, it shows Edgar sitting at his desk. He's made more of an effort than normal to appear pulled together and impressive, but he's also trying to appear relatively casual so as to not overwhelm everyone or come across as a complete stuffed shirt. Thanks to years of kingship, it works pretty well.]

My fellow Sky People and our resident Gaians - I hope this evening finds you in good health. So much has happened over the past several weeks that many of us have not yet been able to assimilate and process all the information we've been receiving. Under normal circumstances, perhaps we could allow those unintentional blind spots to continue to linger, as the danger inherent in them is not so great individually, but the number of "blind spots" that we've come across since the middle of July has risen in a frightening rapid manner, and our ability to adapt to the situation has taken a strain from situations which keep being thrown our way.

We cannot let this continue. It is our duty to protect the people of this world, whether they originally hail from Gaia or from one of the numerous other worlds Gaia has come into contact with. The rising tide of public opinion against Sky Persons such as myself and several of you has sources that we can control and eliminate, namely the threats that originate from our own worlds, many of which we have successfully faced and defeated before on numerous battlegrounds. We must pool our resources and make these threats known - or suffer the consequences once more of letting them run rampant over Gaia.

Therefore, I propose to host a summit at Figaro for us to meet one another face to face and exchange relevant information. Only by our cooperation will we truly be able to face threats to this world - and I for one do not intend to sit idly by as time plays out. I especially implore you known as the Warriors of Cosmos to attend - your time in what you call the Void has made you more familiar than perhaps anyone else with the threats originating from our different worlds, and your experience would be invaluable in combating these menaces.

Thank you all, and I hope to hear from you on this matter soon.

[And the screen goes blank.]

[The Marquis' sky phone turns on after he accidentally knocked it off the table. He's usually not this clumsy, but today he seems to be very busy. Perhaps it's because he's planning to go three different places in four days, not to mention he also has a meeting to plan.]

First thing is first, I must make way to Costa Faguita. Five-hundred thousand gil in supply should be enough to ensure the welfare of the locals, however, I am more than prepared to usher forth another one hundred thousand in case. As for my next stop, I must visit Lindblum briefly and greet a few acquaintances if anything. Then I must make way to Narshe soon...

[Halim reaching for his planner, the Marquis was just about to jot all of this down until he saw the date upon the calendar. Pausing for about a moment or two, a deep sigh came from Halim followed by a humored laugh.]

...Fifty-six, isn't? I do believe I'm officially and old man today. I suppose this is the part of my life where I start lying about my age.

(ooc: Happy Birthday Halim!)

[While the footage was of poor and grainy quality, it was easy for everyone to spot the handsome silhouette of one Dr. Cid. He was lingering about within a tunnel of some kind, and dripping water could be heard continuously falling. Looking quite spiffy in a red, purple, gold and white ensemble that was no doubt quite theatrical for a man on the run, Dr. Cid speaks into the camera after adjusting it a few times.]

Ladies & Gentlemen of Gaia, lend me your ears!

As you may already know, I've been unfairly charged with crimes I didn't commit. Well, probably not charged really...Especially since I've had no trial!

However, I've been blamed for the deaths of thousands because of the audacious activities of one Larsa Ferrinas Solidor. Now I do not understand how that could be since I am merely a weapons researcher who moonlights as a weapons dealer.

I do realize that this Ultimecia, the sorceress, has caused a great deal of trouble, but she's dead! Folks, you've won this battle fair and square since the witch is dead. Yet and still, you're hunting me down like sort of flea-bitten courel!

Why is that?

I mean, I didn't kill the Alexandrian Queen or anything, nor did I try to take the life of Regent Cid Fabool with a pocket knife. So I must ask, why the HELL are you people chasing me?

[The video feed turns on, and it's faced upwards towards the sky. At first, there's nothing, and then the face of a moogle pops into view, pom pom bouncing. It adjusts its little scarf.

That's how it works, kupo! Any questions?

The Sky Phone shakes a bit, until it turns on its owner briefly. The voices are still pretty low.]

No. You have my gratitude.

[Now the feed goes to the owner fully.]

I've been told that this is not Ivalice, but the moogles would not go into detail as to why. Perhaps someone could offer assistance.

[ooc: Probably backdated a little. Or maybe Tifa couldn't get a signal on her phone.]

[Have a close-up of Tifa's face, since she's pointing the phone to herself.]

...Hey. What do you know, miracles really do happen. I woke up at the Iifa Tree. And there are some friends with me too. Celes... Lightning... And Garnet, the Queen of Alexandria.

[She smiles, but the smile is quickly overtaken by worry.]

Was there anyone else who didn't make it? Did we defeat Ultimecia? Cloud, are you okay? And the kids? I'll make my way back to Luca as soon as possible, if... if you guys are still there. I hope we haven't been gone for that long.

[Look who's back! Regent Cid is sitting on his throne with Mikoto perched on the step beside him.]

Greetings! I am delighted to announce that the party who journeyed into Terra have returned! I'm sure that each one will be telling their own stories, but if you could recount the main points, Mikoto... Both good and bad.

[Mikoto nods, facing the camera as she speaks.]

Terra was a desolate wasteland, as we expected. But it was not abandoned... We found new Genomes there, as well as those who had been kidnapped by Kuja. They have all safely returned with us, and I shall take them back to the village.

We encountered Garland in Pandemonium, but were unable to defeat him... Kuja is no longer Garland's only puppet. He has created a new Angel of Death, Lufene, who told us that he has gone to the Chaos Shrine.

We fought Lufene in Bran Bal, but before we were able to defeat her, she absorbed power from a triad of magical statues and we were forced to flee. Serah and Genesis were killed in the battle. The last we saw of Terra, it was being utterly destroyed by Lufene. I do not believe that it is possible to return there now. The rest of us were lucky to escape with our lives.

[There's a pause as Mikoto stops abruptly. Cid steps forward to sweep an arm around her shoulder. Mikoto doesn't look like she appreciates this.]

You weren't lucky, Mikoto. You were magnificent. Garland may not be gone, but we've learned a lot. We must make plans for our next step, but for now: a feast! You deserve it! I would also like to take this opportunity to invite all those who have returned from Terra to the Festival of the Hunt tomorrow. You've arrived just in time.

[ooc note: Characters returning from Terra are free to jump in with their own replies to any questions! Threadjack as you please. :3]

[Cid's currently standing on the bridge of the Gilgamesh, looking a little worse for the wear--bandages around his head and arm in a sling. He takes a little bit before speaking.]

The battle is over, it seems. Ultimecia has been defeated, the mages and rooks have been taken care of... Unfortunately, there were a few casualties, but they already seem to be have announced over this network.

[He pauses before sighing, running a hand through his hair with his good hand.]

...damned mess. Let us focus on rebuilding these cities of Lindblum and Alexandria, and taking care of the wounded. The battle may be over, however, its aftermath has only just begun.

[Filtered to Ondore]

What of things on your end?

[Filtered to Fang and Hope]

Save your grief and anger for another time. Lightning will be back soon enough. Death is impermanent in this world, after all. There is no need to cause yourself undue stress about it--after all, that is the absolute last thing you need right now, all things considered.

Fang, I do not know where you are, but return to Lindblum if possible. Rygdea and I could certainly use your help. Hope, you as well. I mean to look over you until Lightning comes back, and do not bother complaining. It is what she would want.

Alright.

I've been here for a couple hours now, and I've been thinking about this, long and hard.

And no matter how many times I go over it, I come back to the same conclusion.

This is stupid.

And I go 'Barret, isn't there anything else to say about this?' And I think about it again! But nope, it's still just stupid!

Hey! Spiky! If you can hear me, I'm blaming your lazy ass for this!

All of it!
