No. That cannot be the only thing we face. There must be an end to it.

[He doesn't want to spend his life battling, any more. There are other things he wants to experience, if he can. Regaining his memories- of battles, never of anything else- has made him wonder what else there is to life. Porom has, as well.]

... I was told by one who had come to this world, that there was a balance between the light and the darkness. If that is so, then Chaos intends to upset that balance. Perhaps.... perhaps the darkness can never be destroyed completely... but we can end this threat.
