[Between her fire magic and those with white magic, the undead of the Devil's Road don't prove to be too much of a challenge. Rydia does her best to conserve her energy, though. From what the moogle said, she would need every bit of it for the real fight ahead.

Deep within the road, she finally sees the myrrh tree they need to reach...and the dragon lurking nearby. Unfortunately, the dragon takes notice of them quickly and so Rydia has no time to reach for the rod which would grant them some protection. Instead, she concentrates. It's time to summon the Mist Dragon....]

[Trusting Rosa to do her part, Rydia does hers. They need more might than Mist Dragon can give them, and so she summons Bahamut. The God of the Eidolons appears and unleashes Mega Flare at their opponent.

The dragon is nearly finished as a result, but it manages to counter Rydia with a Doom spell.]

[Ceodore scrambles to his feet and gives his head a shake.]

Forgot it does that.

[And usually at random best he could ever tell.]

Mother, be ready to revive people.

[With that caution out, Ceodore dives right back into the fray, slashing away at the dragon.]

[Edge may have been irritated before when Ceodore dropped, but nobody messed with his WIFE!!!. Seriously ticked off, he found the power of ninjitsu at his call and blitzed the dragon.]

[The Dark Breath hurt, but with the combined healing of Lilisette and Rosa Frimelda feels no need to commit to using Nurse. Instead, she grits her teeth, trying to block the physical counters best she can, raising and lowering her swords as necessary, working alongside the other sword wielders to hit the beast into submission, throwing out a Saint Cross as she does. By the looks of things, it's most certainly recoiling. Whether in defeat, or in preperation for something else, she's not sure, but she keeps her guard up all the same.]

[ Rosa stepped back again and leveled a Curaja at the entire group. If this kept up, she was really going to need those Ethers she packed! Rydia's summon was nothing out of the ordinary to her, so she didn't comment on it. Instead, she focused on supporting everyone and making sure no one else got hurt. An Esuna was also leveled at Rydia (and anyone else who might need it), just in case the Doom status could be removed by it. If not, she would just prepare to revive her friend. ]

[The Healing Waltz and Esuna don't negate the Doom spell, but Rydia nonetheless appreciates such energy being sent her way. She isn't too worried, knowing that Rosa will revive her, and so instead moves to make every moment until then count.

The combination of such powerful attacks might already be enough to defeat it, but just in case, Rydia calls forth Bahamut once again. Another dose of Mega Flare ought to seal its fate...though just as she finishes with her attack, the summoner collapses.]
