[After having helped to clear out Luca and satisfied with the work he had done, Auron set off to Lindblum. The destruction here was just as bad as he had imagined. Supplies are nonexistent. Still, he continues, cutting down stray monsters. He finds people to help as well.]

((ooc: anyone in Lindblum feel free to run into him if you want~))

[Mjrn's sitting on a stoop in front of a half-crumbled building, catching her breath and offering to heal those who are still fighting the local monsters. She could do with a little healing, herself, but is more interested in giving what she can.]

[Mjrn glances over.]

Aye. Do you need healing?

[Mjrn shakes her head.]

Others need it more than I. I would not deprive them.

[She nods reluctantly. He has a point.]

A little, then.

...I am sorry. I do not mean to sound ungrateful.

[She takes a couple of sips, then relaxes as she feels the healing magic seep inside her.]

My thanks, sir....

[She pauses, looking him over. He does seem familiar, but she can't pinpoint his name at the moment.]

[She nods and stands, stretching a bit before reaching for her spear.]

Aye. My name is Mjrn. Perhaps there is something to be said for safety in numbers....

[She sighs, glancing around.]

Though the worst have been vanquished or driven back, many remain. Some I recognize from Ivalice, yet others are unknown to me.

They are manages as best they are able, but many are discouraged. This is not the first time Lindblum has suffered widespread damage.

Then...may we fight together for a time?

[Whilst awaiting her comrade in arms to be, Frimelda has kept herself busy, and made herself useful. As well as taking out a pretty ferocious dragon, she's been helping out in each district where necessary, as she is doing now, finishing off several cockatrice (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cockatrice_%28Final_Fantasy_Tactics_A2%29)'s, deftly wielding her two blades with ease until the monsters fall and the diminishing numbers of the rest head towards her. Now, there's only three remaining.]

[At the assistance, Frimelda is surprised - her swords visibly faulter before she recovers, quickly, nodding in appreciation. It's simply the fact she is usually not assisted in these situations - most of the civilians tend to stand nearby and gawp, if they're not running from the monsters.

She quickly takes down the two remaining cockatrice's before looking to her helper.]
My thanks.

[Frimelda nods, before lightly smiling in recognition.] Then, you must be Auron.

Your journey to Lindblum was safe, I trust?

I am. [Busy, perhaps, a little bruised, but well.] The people of Lindblum have suffered much hardship... the beasts continue to persist with their entry into the city walls. Though, the efforts to repel them are soundly done.

[Frimelda frowns, visibly worried.] Yes... I do fear for the worst.

Agreed. If we make our way through the Industrial District, we can leave leave the city via the main gate... which, as would be expected, is where many of the monsters come in from.

Yes, that follows. [She nods, before taking a brief glance around the area they're in, which seems to be beast-less, for the time being, so she sheathes both her blades and lightly dusts off her hands. Even then, she still leaves her right hand poised on the hilt of The Fallen Angel; Lindblum may be defended and the monsters defeated, but those that are cunning, will take you down without a second thought if they see you off guard.

She turns back to Auron.]
Then, shall I lead the way? It will take long. I have everything I need on my person.
From: [identity profile] pathtowalk.livejournal.com
[She gives another nod, before setting off at a brisk pace - just a shy above walking.] Yes. Here, we have the safety of the walls, of the luxury of full supplies. Our road beyond is certainly a hard one... though one that must be taken.

[Frimelda lapses into silence as she says that, concentrating on the surroundings. People are out in the few streets that she navigates along the way, helping to rebuild or going about their business, which was a good sign. But, you could never be too sure. For much of the short walk to the gate, there are no monsters or fiends, but as the gate draws near, she slows.]

It is likely beasts lurk just beyond the walls.

[The small force acting as guards at the gate pay her no mind after casting a glance their way, and opening the gate. Well, a distance: just wide enough for a person to pass through, and no further. As she slips through, she pulls her sword free from the scabbard.

Once she exits, she pauses - the immediate landscape is bare, though, in the corner of her eye, she can see flickers of movement. Scavengers, or opportunists, most likely. Still, there is little danger at this moment, as they don't move, so she moves aside for Auron to pass through the gate after her.]

[The walk from Lindblum was farely uneventful... for the first fifteen minutes. As the city disappeared into the horizon, the flickers of movement become more frequent, and multiplied. Frimelda wasn't surprised - two travellers, with seemingly just swords to hand, would be easy pickings, no?

Well, those monsters soon learnt their lesson, the survivors retreating at being tossed away with ease by Frimelda's blade skills... only to be replaced by other monsters, weaker and stronger.

It was a fair while after the departure from Lindblum that a village was reached. Frimelda stopped, mid pace.]

Auron. [She walked in a small circle, casting her eyes over the remains of makeshift houses.]

A settlement... was here.

[Frimelda nods, scanning the horizon. There are ruins scattered... some half standing buildings, which (and she would not be surprised if they were) would be housing monsters rather than humans.]

Yes. To where, if they left. The mountains are in close range, which may hold the presence of a cave. Or underground.

[She frowns a little. Aid is all well and good... but finding a lack of people, begs the question of looking for them, even if simply to find the worst, or pressing onward.]

The sheer quantity would not have assisted, either...

[She trails off, turning back to look at the distant mountains.] For Dali, we would have to pass through South Gate, situated on the mountains. [another pause.] Either, we can focus towards the mountains now, in search of survivors... or keep further out of their shadow, near where the settlements would be. [neither is a brilliant choice. they could do both... but that would lose precious time, and she has to reason with that. and chose the wrong choice, and lives could be lost.]

[Frimelda contemplates, before reluctantly nodding.] Then, Dali is our priority destination.

[She shakes her head.] Unfortunately, I do not... the network has been quiet from Dali. What this bodes, would only be found upon arrival there.
