[Have a close-up of Lufene, who is looking very pleased with herself. There's an impish grin on her face.]
Did you miss me?
[Lufene is reclining on a chair, tail curling lazily. Those who have been inside the Lunatic Pandora may recognise the control room.]
I do hope you're all admiring my new toy. Magnificent, isn't it? And I know exactly where to put it. Know where? I'll give you a clue.
[She leans forward, speaking in an exaggerated stage whisper:]
I'm going to wipe out the vermin.

I have to confess that I am distinctly unimpressed. Here I was expecting something impressive, and the best you have to offer is Lunar Cry?
[He snorts derisively]

Date: 2011-04-18 09:43 pm (UTC)You clearly have no taste whatsoever. Your opinion doesn't matter.
Date: 2011-04-18 10:01 pm (UTC)My taste is obviously more refined than yours. Unless it is truly Garland's taste, and you are simply playing stooge to a senile old man. His plans never do seem to work properly, it would be a shame if you got caught into one.
[Deflate the ego just a bit, act uninterested and then... he leans forward into the screen and grins with the face he used when something was working out excellently]
You have so much potential.
[You let drop that there is interest. A little bit of halfway flattery, not to feed the ego, but to spark a new flame of interest. Now comes the delicate part, he needs to make it clear he has no interest in becoming involved, no motive or desire for her to work for him. The retired mentor who she manages to coax into going along with her plan. It must be on 'her initiative' not his.]

Date: 2011-04-18 10:13 pm (UTC)Excuse me. I am no stooge and certainly not to that pathetic old man. He can die for all I care.
And I know exactly how much potential I have, thank you. As you're all about to see.

Date: 2011-04-18 10:34 pm (UTC)Of course, of course, because destroying a city of rats and dropping down random monsters from the moon is so original. Where is the finesse?
[Heavily laden sarcasm. It's almost as trademark as the Ronsenburg line-face.]
And here I was sure that you were capable of so much more.
Not that Lunar Cry is completely without merit. The extra destruction coming from the spread of monsters is a bonus, and having to deal with the influx of monsters is certainly a good distraction for the disgustingly large number of 'heroes' but it is far too straightforward. Doing it as anything but a mechanism to stall time would be ridiculous and childishly petty, of course, and you are far too refined to sink to such infantile levels, to be sure.
But even with the intention to stall, it still lacks in merit, as there are people here who have dealt with it before, so that when they fail to stop you, the will still know how to just turn it into a simple cleanup job.
[His wording is precise. He never hints at the possibility that the heroes could stop her, as if it was quite clear she could handle them on her own. He also flatters her in a way that might direct her opinion. Maybe. He also outlines that it isn't some colossal mistake, it simply fails at being any sort of efficient to a point where it loses usefulness.]

Date: 2011-04-18 10:46 pm (UTC)No taste, no manners, and you talk far too much. I'd like to see you do better.

Date: 2011-04-18 11:12 pm (UTC)Oh, that was golden, dear. Golden.
[His eyes light up and he smirks, as if he has just gotten an excellent idea]
I think I will. Spectularly better. It will be most excellent. [He gives her a sickly-sweet smile] Thank-you kindly for setting me up so nicely wih your foolishness; I do appreciate it.
[Looks like he can use her after all]

[With that said, she cuts him off. Prig!]

Date: 2011-04-19 12:16 pm (UTC)Attempting to figure out what is actually going on. Admittedly, I was expecting a somewhat higher maturity level in the little genome, but I managed to get some of what I came for.
[He sighs and rubs his temples, this not when he wanted to have this conversation.]
Manipulating people's opinions and decisions was a good chunk of what I did over the past fifteen years. I figured I might as well attempt to do the same here.
And since Lunar Cry is about one of the nastiest things that could happen, and she seems intent on doing it for destruction purposes only... [There is something Garland wants. Noah is sure. Absolutely positive. He just can't for the life of him figure out what.]
I do not like this. There is something I am missing. This is far too easy. I can't figure out what Garland gains from this. There has to be something, all of his plots are formed with the probability that all outcomes end in victory. Do you know what had happened here before? He'd almost won. And if he has drawn us here, and wants us busy and distracted dealing with the influx of monsters from the moon, then something is going on.
[Noah considers briefly that Basch has never seen him in action, evaluating information and generally reading people and heir motives very easily,. He isn't quite sure if his is an impression that he wants to give]
