[ There's a man standing who looks rather disoriented and out of place in the business district of Lindblum. He's leaning heavily on what appears to be a staff, and his gauntlet-ed hand is clutching a couple of gyshal pickles which he is eying oddly. He also seems to be either unaware or distinctly ignoring the smell that allowed for the large space around him. Or, that could simply be because he looks to be in pieces. He fiddles with a 'skyphone' device he'd received from the moogles. ]

[ It had been a couple of days since the moogles had found him near-dead. It was rather sad, Noah thought, that the only species he'd done nothing against were the little pompom'd people. Grateful, nonetheless, that they'd helped get him back on his feet, even if he couldn't remember everything that had happened before.]

[The video was zoomed up close on Gabranth's face face, and a small, dark-red spot was coagulating at the right-hand corner of his lip.  He seemed somewhat off, like he was hunched over, unusual in a man who'd always had perfect posture.  He'd taken a bite out of one of the pickles, and after a quick jolt for the kick, a relaxed expression flashed across his face in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment before his expression hardlined again.]

As I am to understand, I've been transported to a world known as 'Gaia'. I seem to have arrived here in Lindblum.

[ His face seemed to twitch a moment, as if the next thought that came to his head is rather revolting. It morphs into a small, self-deprecating smirk. ]

My most sincere apologizes to those among you who are disappointed. It appears that I get rather cheated out of everything, death included.

[ A drop of blood drips down from the corner of his mouth. ]

[This man... Auron knows this man, somehow. His memory was still stretched thin, but he recognized the tone of voice and his appearance. Another Judge, this he remembered distinctly, and brother to Basch.]

Luck you call it? Nay, it is no luck, only the will of a universe that loves to see me suffer. But I do thank you for your concern. The moogles have been helping me a heal great deal, and soon I will be well enough to finish the rest of the healing myself. If the gods intend to keep me alive a little longer, I will do my best to submit to their wishes as I have everyone else's.

[He's faced down Vayne driven crazy-mad, faced down Lady Ashelia and her companions, as wells their ghosts that loomed around his shoulders, he'd faced down armies knowing the battle was hopeless, ad yet he could not even look his brother in the eye. He turned away from the camera.]

I apologise that I must be a burden to you once again.

[ His brother seemed to have missed re comment about apologising for not dying, and he wasn't about to bring it up. He doubts Basch would appreciate it. ]

I am well enough, Basch. There is no need to waste a mage's time with me. I shall be hale soon enough.

Looking a touch worse for wear, Judge Magister. [Balthier is certainly not unhappy to see Gabranth -- this has potential to be a pleasant surprise for Captain Basch, after all. Besides, Gabranth proved his worth in defending Larsa. That is not easily forgotten.]

A few scrapes and bruises, only.  It seems I was a bit behind in practicing the proper landing procedures when one is slugged halfway 'cross a room.

[The Bunansa boy was never a bad character, even when he did go off and play truant the way Zecht had, and Basch had seemed to trust him as a friend.  For an added bonus, the man didn't seem to wish him dead.]

That's probably the nicest welcome anyone has given me all day.  Basch, I fear, has lost none of his old mother-hen tendencies.  [So what if it's nice to have his older brother there to nag at him about not being careful. Even if he can't look him in the face without cringing in self-hate.  No one else has to know that]

Besides, it's not anonymity I worry about, Bunansa, but rather the other wonderful past aqcuantainces I'll have the distinguished pleasure of running into.

[Noah leans forward and gives an exaggerated grimace that morphs into a real one as he accidentally flexes a muscle in his side that is not quite done healing yet.]

Still terrorising the skies, I take it? And please, call me Noah.  I'm rather done being the Empire's butcher.

[For some reason, it is easier to talk about it-much less joke about it-with the Sky Pirate.  Perhaps that was what Basch first saw in the man.]

[ He pauses, and composes himself. This is a face he did not ever expect to see again, though it is true Basch is his twin. To Larsa, they are so very different, he is sure he could never mistake one for the other. ]

No, I am sorry. It is...Noah, isn't it? I don't consider your survival to be something you should frown upon. I am...anything but disappointed.

You are...still unwell, however! I am also in Lindblum. Surely I could provide you with aid...?

Lord Larsa! My lord, are you all right? What are you doing he... I apologise, my lord, that was a rather stupid question. Here, tell me where you are so I that i may come and find you.

[Because he was just as bad as Basch, sometimes, and occasionally even worse, with no regard to himself.]

I assure you, Lord Larsa, that I am doing quite well. There is no need to worry over me.

[And, of course, his body is now obligated to call him out on his lie, with a sharp flair in his side that makes him near double-over in pain. He clutches at his side and returns as best he can to an upright position.]

He was glad hate young esperkin girl seemed to be doing well, even when she had served under Chaos, he. Ould tell her heart was a pure one, and that for a warrior of destruction she was ill-suited.]

[Basch's brother. Larsa's protector. Toward the end he acted to defend the greater good and ultimately gave his life for that cause, but he is her father's murderer, and Ashe cannot forgive that. Initially, it's injustice she feels after seeing the broadcast, a sour taste at the back of her throat and questions, one after the next.

No, she will not reply.

There are those who will be thankful, and Ashe would not deny Basch the comfort of having his twin restored to him, but she has nothing to say. Peace is what she seeks now, not a conflict of words, and the princess turns off her device.]

I see you've been dragged here as well. How many more faces from the gods' war should I expect to see?

[He wasn't sure if he should introduce himself anew to these people, he'd done little in the conflict before becoming the watchdog and judge of the dead. Which was less organized murder and more an actual judiciary position.]

Lindblum's not so bad a place to turn up, the way I hear it! I woke up in Treno when I got here, that place is full of pickpockets and plenty of other troublesome folk. At any rate, welcome to Gaia.

[It takes Penelo a long while to even decide to turn on the phone. This man destroyed her country and killed Reks. He was the reason she and Larsa fell out over a year ago. And yet, even he deserves a second chance and he so clearly needs a healer. She wars with herself for a long long time to even say anything. With a soft sigh, she finally does.]

[One of Basch's young friends, and he is quite certain this one didn't like him. Even if she wasn't about to wish him dead. It was very sweet and noble of her to offer to help an enemy, none the less.]

Really, miss, I am fine. The moogles have been taking care of me, and that is left to do is for me to rest. Young Lord Larsa is with me now, and Basch is on his way. In truth, I don't know if I will be able to stand any more concern on my behalf. Still, it was most kind and generous of you to offer, neither of which am I in any way deserving of.

[Even seventeen years on from the conflict, Cecil hasn't forgotten the former Chaos warrior. And after experiencing Memoria with Basch and Terra, he had learned a great deal about the two brothers from Basch's memories. He's surprised, then, when he sees the Captain's twin on the video feed, but glad for Basch's sake. People being torn from their homeworlds is not always a bad thing if it means they're granted another chance at life... or reunited with family.]

[This was a bit surprising, though not unexpected. He'd spoken with Terra after all, so it was not too far a stretch that the paladin would also make his presence known. It was decidedly more uncomfortable, however, now that the man had met his brother. It would be no jump in logic to assume that he knew at least as much as Terra had.]

My wounds have been given much more care than I would have given them, and the little healing left is that which is left best to time and the body's own mechanisms.

[He pauses, unsure of how much to say.]

[Noah briefly entertains the notion of being particularly forbearing and acting very scrutinous of the individual as a joke, but discards the idea as far too many people would take it seriously. The boy looked nigglingly familiar, in a way that he was certain he hadn't seen him before, but positive that he knew the face.]
