[Returning to Galbadia Garden wasn't quite like going home again, but it was a fair start. Quistis had been there many times in the past, even before they had been forced to take refuge there after the incident in Timber, and knew the layout of the place fairly well as a result. Still, it felt somewhat foreign and sterile to her; it was so unlike the familiar halls of Balamb Garden, but she supposed nothing would ever be able to come close after spending so many of her formative years there. No matter; a Garden was a Garden, and that's where a SeeD belonged. She smiled to herself as she toured the main hall of the place, hands clasped behind her back as she walked and did her best to sort her thoughts. A lot had happened, and she was glad to be back among friends while she got her bearings.]

[Quistis smiled to herself as she followed their guide, tossing a skeptical look in Irvine's direction at his remark.]

It will be nice to have a dorm to settle into again. All that time we spent travelling was a little disorienting, I miss having some roots put down.

This room's empty. The person it belonged to vanished a couple of days ago... Wanna take a look?

[Quistis looked hesitant, frowning a bit even as Irvine averted his eyes.]

Vanished? ... I saw the announcement about populations decreasing suddenly. It touched Galbadia Garden, too?

I think it happened everywhere... People disappearing... It's just awful. I know that maybe it's too soon just to move in... But I don't know, what else are we supposed to do?

I mean we've seen this happen before with people. People come and go, then come back again. The only thing we can hope is that their home...or at least someplace safe.

That's troubling. I guess the best we can hope for is that they've been returned to wherever they came from... which would make most people here happy in the end, I think. To go home?

[Quistis shifted uneasily. It was easy enough to say that when they were perfectly safe and sound, but she couldn't help feeling as though they were distracting themselves from a possibly inconvenient truth.]

... if they're not here to use it, then I suppose they won't mind if I move in.

[Quistis started to nod, reminding herself that it was her job to be sensible and no-nonsense. The room was just going to waste as it was, but... she stopped and shook her head.]

No, I don't really feel right about it. We'll see if there's something else available first. [She paused, raising an eyebrow at Irvine.]

I appreciate the offer, Rinoa. I'll find something more permanent shortly. [Perhaps after the sting of the sudden loss of population numbed somewhat. Besides, having a roommate might be fun -- it had been several years since Quistis had shared a room with another student, having made SeeD as early as she did.]

You'll never stop trying, will you. [Despite her protests, Quistis was trying very hard not to laugh.]

[Rinoa was a little too distracted by the glimpse of the room she had before shutting it to take notice of Irvine. She blinked at both of them.]

[Letting out a sound huff, Quistis reached over to tug Irvine's hat down over his eyes.]

At least try on girls who don't know all your tricks. [She cleared her throat and smiled at Rinoa.] Being roommates would be fun for at least a little while, don't you think?

[Quistis looked slightly surprised, unsure of how to properly respond. She had never had a friend close enough for such things. In fact, all through her training, she had mostly had fair-weather acquaintances. She smiled after a moment, nodding.]
