[Cloud is on a boat, leaning against Fenrir. He feels awful for what he's doing but he has to. He would have done it when Tifa died if he could have just left the children all alone without him to comfort them. At least he took the time to talk to Tifa about it before just hopping on a boat and leaving.]

I'm going to the Iifa Tree. I'll be gone a little while... Tifa, I know we talked about it but... [He still feels bad leaving her with all the children.]

I need to see it myself... more than I did when I died. [But she knows his reasons, they talked like real adults instead of him just fleeing. He's come a long way.

He pauses to think for a moment.]

If there's time, I want to go to see Matoya. I've got too many questions without answers. [He wonders for a moment if he can get a reason to fight from her... but just cuts the feed a moment later.]

He said 'aren't we feeling self important, taking all the blame?'. And then he probably told me to shut up, I don't really remember so well. The point is that you had no say in this at all, it didn't happen because you did or didn't do anything. It just, you know, happened. And that sucks.

...I don't know a whole lot about what happened before I showed up here. But if you chose not to kill him then it was probably the best choice at the time.
