[A face appears on the screen, just a bit too close at first, then leaning in even closer. He leans back to a more comfortable distance, but moves back and forth in the camera, the inquisitive look on his face clear as it seems he's examining the camera while it's broadcasting.]

Hmmm... amazing. R&D would love to get a look at this. If this works the way this says it does, it would be a wonderful item to equip our field workers with. Although, I'm not sure how easily they would be able to replicate it. Hmmm...

[The man blinks suddenly and twitches as if he were just reminded of something he needs to be doing at this moment.]

Well, let's see if this works. Hello? Can anyone out there hear me? My name is Reeve Tuesti and I seem to be in... [He looks around] some kind of church, I believe. I'm not exactly sure where it is though. All I can tell is that there seems to be a hall of worship and many, many books around here. Aside from the moogle who gave me this, I haven't been able to find much else around here, including the exit. If there is anyone out there who may be able to render some assistance, please let me know. Thank you.

[The video feed seems to spin around sharply for a moment as Reeve seems to be studying the device from multiple angles, muttering things such as "Hmmm" and "I see" from off-camera. Finally, he sets it down on the table, giving a view of a wall with a bookcase partly in-frame next to it. Reeve goes to the bookcase and stands there, examining the titles.]

Hmmm... Modern Treatises on Contemporary Oligarchies... Care and Feeding of Hybrid Pack Animals... Physiology and Kinesiology... AH! [He bends down and pulls a book from one of the lower shelves] An Analysis of Continental Geology. Well, if I have to wait, I'm sure I can learn something from this. Maybe at least it will tell me where I am...

[Reeve carries the book back toward the table near the camera, disappearing out of frame. After a few minutes, the feed times out.]

Ah, Vincent. I was told welcome, was handed this phone, told that it was how I would be communicating, and then that I apparently should have woken up sooner, because he was late for his meeting with the abbot. Then the moogle ran off and left me alone. I've basically learned how to use this thing from the pamphlet that I only managed to find after someone mentioned its existence to me, and that I'm at some place called Orbonne Monastery, which, according to what I've been told, should not be too far from your location. I think that once I find my way from here to Lindblum, we may need to sit down and you can let me know just what in the world is going on.

Now is as good a time as any. Some force is taking people from different worlds and putting them onto this one. Some are returned to their world at random, but there is no way to do so by choice. People can be brought to this world from different points of time.

Wait until you get to Lindblum. You can stay with Cid. [No mention that Vincent has been staying in the one guestroom. He's perfectly willing to give it up for one of the couches.]

Well thank you. However, I'm not sure how well Cid would take to you handing out invitations to others staying at his place. Then again, knowing Cid, he will probably take it with large amounts of grumbling and swearing, a cigarette, and acceptance.

The last event I can remember before I arrived here? Well, about two weeks ago was our attack against Deepground and your battle against Omega. We had been dealing with the aftermath of that and the continual day-to-day struggles of fix what has been broken in the world.

Of course. It's Cid. [After several months of off-and-on staying with Cid, Vincent has grown almost completely immune to most of Highwind's actions.]

...After, then. Be careful about what you say. Some of the others from our world have been taken from points in time before yours. [Vincent included, seeing as he hasn't yet fought Omega.]

I see then. I shall make sure that am more aware of what I say and who I say it to. The last thing we all would need would be someone going home with knowledge of that which has not happened yet.



However, I must also ask you about something. Dr. Bunansa has... contacted me since my arrival. He mentioned saving a friend of mine from death, and the way he spoke, it seemed that the most logical person he spoke of would be you. I need to ask: What can you tell me about the situation to which he referred? And what kind of man does he truly seem to be? He talks as if I should be indebted to him, whereas I do not know anything about the man, aside from his being charged in helping to attack the innocent people of this world.

[Vincent's eyes narrow in a distinct frown. He doesn't want to tell Reeve about what happened, but the executive was a part of it before, and probably had a right to know.]

When I appeared on Gaia, I did not have the protomateria. A type of stone called nethicite was being manufactured by the doctor, and the nethicite suppressed Chaos. A piece of nethicite ended up embedded inside me in the same way the protomateria was. For a time, that served as a solution, but it broke. The doctor performed an operation to remove it.

I have already heard the "good doctor"'s announcement. Judging from his words and what he is suspected of doing, he appears to be someone that would not be the most advantageous of allies. He obviously has his talents and his abilities, but his grandiose sense of self pervades even simple conversation.

I would say that I owe him a debt of gratitude for helping you, but that debt will have to be suspended until such time as he can definitively prove that he is what he claims to be, no more, no less.

I do have to wonder though... if the protomateria is gone, and the nethicite has broken and was removed... what is supressing Chaos now?

He is hardly a man you would want as your ally. If anyone owes him a debt, I do. [Of course, with the obvious dislike of the Doctor that Vincent is showing, whether he would pay back that debt or not is questionable.]
