[Night has fallen and a small fire flickers in the dark, the only bright thing in a landscape that's utterly black. Terra has no moon and if there are stars, one cannot tell since the sky is shrouded by clouds. Mikoto is sitting cross-legged by the fire, her hands tucked in her lap.

This is a great place to camp, right? It totally is. Let's toast some muffins and have a chat.]

[ooc: Here is your first weekly campfire post! It's completely optional: your character can be tucked up in bed if you like, but this is a good chance to have some interaction that doesn't involve being attacked by dragons. [Vivi nods, lifting the toy soldier from the ground and clutching it to his chest briefly.]

I was here with Zid- with the King og Alexandria when he visited. It was still different from Gaia but it wasn't like this at all...

[He pauses briefly, trying to recall more of what Terra had been. So much had happenned in such a small amount of time that he remembers little of the world itself, just the events that had happenned there.]

It was the ultima spell. Kuja used it.

[He fidgets again, moving the tin soldier across the ground on its head this time, and then nods a little more cheerfully.]

Yeah, we are!

[The bard almost paled at the thought of Kuja casting a single spell that rendered all of Terra to ash.]

Is Kuja truly that powerful that he could destroy an entire world?

[Edward sighed.]

How vile, he's no different than the monster that once plagued my world.

[Vivi clenches his fists angrily, more aggressive than normal.]

He's...he is a monster. And a liar and-

[He sighs, calming down and placing the soldier on the ground.]

[Vivi's demeanor made him frown, since not too long ago Edward used to be that angry as well.]

Yes, in fact my comrades and I did face a person just as wicked as Kuja. His name was Golbez and he worked for an evil tyrant called Zemus.

Like you and your friends, we did our best to stop them.

[Vivi listens carefully, pulling a corner of the blanket over the tin soldier]

You managed to stop them, right?

Indeed, we did. We managed to stop them before they could herald the end of our world, but so many were lost during the conflict.

[Edward sighed softly.]

[The mention of death makes Vivi fidget uncomfortably and he hangs his head.]

We lost a lot of people, too. Dagg- Queen Garnet's mother. And all the casualties in Lindblum and Burmecia and Cleyra and Alexandria. This world, too. And Eiko's best freind and all the other mages...

[He sighs, drawing his knees up to his chest and staring into the fire again.]

This time we're going to do it better so that nobody else has to die.

Yes, in fact many people who were close to me perished during the chaos.

[One such person being the love of his life, but Edward didn't want to think of her right now. His memories of Anna were always a pleasant distraction for him, but he needed to stay focus.]

Kuja will be stopped at all costs, I can guarantee you that.

[Edward hoped they could make an example out of Kuja, a clear example for Garland to behold. No one who threatens the safety of this world shall be spared. Not a single soul.]

If we can spare at least one person from grief over the deeds Kuja and Garland partake within, then we have done our duty.

[Were he capable of visibly smiling back, Vivi would have. As it was, he just moved more of he blanket onto the toy soldier so there was enough to tuck it in.]
