[Lili is finally fully recovered and ready to set out after the journey to the Wind Shrine. She'll be wandering around Troia for a little bit. If anyone there would like to say hello, feel free to do so. She's slowly making her way to the airship docks.

In the meantime she also wants to call a few people to check in on them. So here's her list of calls (even though some of you probably don't keep your phones on you...):

Rishfee
Vincent
Excenmille
Mjrn
Angeal

So do your friend a favor and pick up! She's worried about all of you.

And, later, she'll be in Lindblum. And free to attack there, because she loves seeing people.]

[He exhales and closes his eyes, heart sinking. He hoped, somehow, that he'd be wrong. That maybe his abilities were out of whack again; he detected things he shouldn't have -- like when he saw Amnaf almost all of the time. But alas. He's still sane. And the problem is very real.]

...There was one with a pact on Gaia before. But he faded; he broke free from the spell. Myself and the Skyserpent... though he is gone now, felt that Odin himself broke him out of this world. We have no verification though.

[He's worried. Really worried. He remembers Eiko showing him her secret -- Alexander. Sure if another is here bound to the Dark Divinity...]

Lilisette...
If you would tell me. What does the Dark Divinity want in return?

As for controlling him, according to scripture Odin appears to those who are steeped in the blackest despair, the most profound pain, or the deepest sorrow. The Dark Divinity appears to such people, and such emotion is a call to him from his realm, a summon. ...If he could be summoned so frivolously by any and all summoners -- if you understand my meaning. He only comes to those of worth - those with the strongest spirit. Perhaps the key to him not appearing, or your form changing, is to keep yourself from experiencing it. ...Self-preservation, if you will.

[Apparently, you're of worth. Interesting to know. But. he rubs his eyes and then answers her question.

A fomor which was an Ephramadian prince. He and his nation fell to the empire some two hundred years back... in the most horrible way. He died a horrible, cruel and drawn out death; as in those days the empire made example of their enemies. Odin is the guardian of that fallen nation. They forged a pact, and the dark divinity and said prince had rose from his realm, from the dead, to destroy the empire -- and Odin's enemy... who happens to be the guardian of the empire. Somehow, the prince found himself here.

[Such a tangled story.]

I do not know the details first-hand, but it appeared that the prince had thought against his revenge. The skyserpent told me that during a confrontation with him, the prince had told him that those of the near east alive today were not the ones which had gave him cause for his revenge; that he sought to revoke the pact and return to the grave, yet he could not reverse what was already in motion. He also told the skyserpent that Odin had held council with him upon this world, and told him that he could complete his end of the bargain in this world for Vana'diel to be spared. Something he accepted, though the skyserpent did tell me that he did not seem happy about that fact.

...I know not what happened after that.

[He pauses and considers things. As much as he feels sorry for her, the same way as he actually felt sorry for Luzaf, he can't direct her to Eiko. It's too dangerous. Lilisette would never harm her. But Odin...]

...There is a summoner tribe upon this world. Perhaps it would be prudent to seek their advice about this matter. They are very knowledgeable.

[A lot of him can relate to that. A hell of a lot, actually. He wasn't given his abilities by gods. More like morally corrupt mortals that would have sacrificed anything to protect what they held dear. And he'd accepted. And he'd become a time bomb -- as per her words. And he knew better than most what that felt like. Immortals had absolutely nothing that could take them down. No reason to fear anything or anyone. But the hatred, the fear of them from the citizenry and the army ---

-- The Immortals didn't care. He did though. And that had always made him the target of Raubahn's ire and Amnaf's curiosity. He was more human than all of them combined. None of them could even understand how he'd survived the infusion because of that fact.
]

...Look at me, Lilisette. Please. Don't look like that.

[He waits for her to respond before speaking. Something about him hurts seeing her like this. In a way, it's like viewing himself. And it is not comfortable.]

Thank you.

[He gazes at her face in that odd, quiet and calm way he's so accustomed to displaying. And he shakes his head. This is going to be hard. The girl knows nothing over his dilemmas, his problems, and his constant struggles with what threatens to engulf him. She knows nothing of blue mages, after all. But he knows more than most what she is experiencing. And he knows that she is doing herself no favours. If she were a blue mage, what she's putting herself through would push her over the edge and into her true form.]

It will mean nothing to you. Not from me. but you must know and you must believe me that torturing yourself speeds things. You have to see things in another way, and you have to believe in the person which you are- that you are not governed by this. You were not born to become this, were you?

[Yes, he knows the answer is a negative.]

You have reason to exist as yourself. You must believe in that reason, or you are nothing but a starting product -- or a time bomb, as you say. Do you understand?

[There's a slight pause. He can only do what Vincent did when he asked the same of him -- to kill him if he ever lost control. Not falter in the answer.]

You have my word that I will not tell a soul about this. And... yes. If you lose control, I will end your existence. If I can.

[Although he appears a little most in thought he's attentive at least, and nods shortly after.]

There is no need to thank me. Anyway. I have something which might be of use to you... after it is altered, of course. It is a form of control. While I would think it wouldn't work on what you're repressing, on another hand it might.

[No, he won't explain. It would mean opening the can of worms about himself, and only Vincent gets that "privilege", though it's more a giant headache than anything. But what he's thinking is actually surprisingly accurate. Magus attire (and what he's having made from pieces he can spare) is made from chimera blood among other things, and is pretty much what cobalt is. In other forms. More stable forms. It is a known fact amongst the Immortals that the Dark Divinity shuns their presence. Essentially, if she wears the part of the soul of an Immortal...]

If I cannot leave the mire for a while, I will ask the moogles to deliver it to you. Either way, I have a feeling it will help.

... Would you like me to ask the summoner tribe what they know?
