You kidding? I've never felt so ready in my life! Seems like a piece of cake.

[Zell could be seen carrying out his usual shadow boxing routine. It seemed he was more or less more interested in a good fight than the myrrh tree itself. Besides, he needed a change of pace. This was the perfect oppurtunity for him to loosen up and let his pent up aggression out.]

[Edge can't believe he's being asked that question.]

The last guardian wasn't too bad. Let's go get your Myrrh drop.

[She offers the both of them a grateful smile and gives a definitive nod before she starts into town, trusting the both of them to follow close behind. Their walk through town is wholly uneventful, though as they near the tower, the number of people thins. The three of them are entirely alone by the time they reach the tower, and even as she steps onto the lift, she hears a loud clang from up above, accompanied by the sound of beating wings (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Elvoret_%28Final_Fantasy_VIII%29) that must be of considerable size to be heard on the ground.]

Well. Once this thing reaches the top, prepare to show this guardian what you're made of. [Confident, really. Far more than she was just a few days ago.]

[Tilting his head back, Zell takes in the entirety of the tower in front of them. Naturally, the sound of a giant creature with wings was a bit unnerving - he never was a big fan of anything that could fly. True men fought toe-to-toe! Regardless, Zell psyched himself up, ready now more than ever. This is what he wanted after all. A good fight on his hands - just like the good days.]

Heh, alright! I got your backs, you can count on me!

From:

[Edge pulls out a couple of shurikens, ready for the lift to stop.]

Can't this thing move any faster.

From:

[Quistis herself had her whip at the ready, and when the lift reached the top platform, she was the first one off -- and not at all pleased to see what awaited them. She frowned, tightening her grip on the handle of her weapon as she moved to square off in front of the beast.]

Hello again, old friend. Zell! Take point! [Being so physically oriented, Zell was a better choice to get up-close-and-personal with the Elvoret while she and Edge did their worst. She was grateful that Blue Magic was much easier to tap into now that she was on Gaia, and, bracing herself, cast a well-aimed missile that caused the monster to screech unhappily. The monster retaliated by casting Firaga on the three of them.

That was a new trick. Doing her best to shake it off, Quistis proceeded to cast Might Guard -- a little extra protection never hurt anyone.]

From:

[Zell was pushed back a bit by the impact, for the most part seemed unphased, ignoring his minor injuries. Maybe we'll get lucky and the thing will show us everything it's got right away.]

Alright, it's my turn now!!
[Zell charged in, aiming a single but powerful blow at the beast. It wasn't as powerful as Quistis's missile, though it wasn't too far off. The guardian recoiled back a bit, snarling nastily at Zell. Following up his attack, he took a defensive stance as he awaited to see what route the other's were going to take with him.]

[Edge pulled his hand up as if he could shield himself from fire, succeeding only in singing his hand. Still, he had no issues staying in the back and letting Zell take the brunt of the attack.]

[He flung a shuriken at the guardian]

He doesn't look so tough.

From:

He wasn't so bad the first time around, but his magic is definitely stronger than it was!

[The Elvoret casts Thundaga on the trio, causing Quistis to let out a low growl of irritation a moment later before casting White Wind across the party, healing them.]

That's getting old quickly. Open fire! We'll take him down as fast as we can!

[S'up Elvoret, enjoy a Homing Laser. BAM.]

[Zell leaped into the air in a somewhat stylish fashion, planting himself against Elvoret and pushing off with all of his strength which delivered a powerful blow onto the beast. He lands back on the ground safely, a smirk on his face.]

Come on, i'm just gettin' warmed up! Is that all you got!?

From:

[Edge was getting a little irritated as another spell whizzed by his head. He took off at a run, katanas bared and sliced at their foe around the monk's attack.]

From:

[Quistis put as much of her weight as she could on her back foot to anchor herself as the Elvoret blew its Storm Breath across the party, stinging at her from all angles as it rolled over her. She shot another Homing Laser at the beast in retaliation, quickly glancing towards her companions to gauge their stamina as best she could.]

How are you two holding up?

[Zell braced himself as the Elvoret blew it's Storm Breath against them. Luckily they weren't blown right off the tower! He dusted himself off before returning to his usual battle stance, taunting the Elvoret.]

Never better, man this is such a rush!

[He let out a boisterous laugh at the Elvoret. He dashed towards the winged beast using his momentum to his advantage, he leaned a punch into the monster which succeeded into a flurry of blows.]

[Zell may have been enjoying himself, but these crazy breaths were royally starting to tick him off.]

This thing is getting to be a pain.

[And with that Edge felt the blood rise in his head, calling forth his ninjitsu blitz across the Elvoret.]

From:

[Quistis let loose another Homing Missile, feeling somewhat encouraged as the Elvoret began to sag mid-air, clearly having trouble flying thanks to the constant assault they were presenting it with.]

Keep it up, it's starting to weaken!

From:

[Zell's blood was pumping, he hasn't felt this alive in a while. A fight like this is refreshing almost, he felt he had been out of action for a little too long.]

Alright, keep your eyes on me! I read this one in a magazine!

[He winks slyly at his teammates before dashing towards the Elvoret at full speed, leaping into the air grappling the beast as he uses his momentum to slam him down against the ground with a significant amount of power, returning back to the lineup in a flashy manner.]

[Edge smiles at Quistis' comment.]

What did you expect, bringing me along?

[All the while he reached back, flinging another shuriken towards their foe.]

From:

[Even though it was clearly starting to suffer thanks to their efforts, the Elvoret managed another Storm Breath attack, the force of it causing Quistis to stumble backwards a few paces. Frowning, she cast another round of White Wind to keep everyone on their feet.]

Well, neither one of you is lacking in confidence. Let's finish him off!

[Zell grinned. One could tell from the look on the face he was beaming with arrogance Truth be told he was a little worse for wear from the guardian's harsh attacks, thankfully Quistis was here to help with that. Once again Zell charged into the Elvoret as he usually does, throwing yet another flurry of blows into the core of the beast before returning to his defensive stance.]

Some guardian, huh?

[Edge shakes his head, tossing another shuriken.]

You needed help with this guy?

From:

[Quistis tossed Edge a withering but still amused look as she fired one last Homing Laser at their foe, causing it to let out a howl of pain and crumple to the ground, its wings getting tangled on the way down.]

I'm good, but not so good that I could have done it myself. Thank you, both of you, for your assistance.

[Zell laughs weakly, wiping a bead of sweat from his brow seeming a bit out of breath.]

Man, that was awesome! You guys were great, thanks for having me tag along.
[He says with a big dopey grin on his face.]

[Edge gives her a look that says he could have taken that down by himself.]

You're welcome Quistie.

[She can call next time she's in trouble. He might even bring Rydia along.]
