It being signed so crudely makes me doubt its authenticity. The letter Penelo received was a prank; at the very least, it wasn't truly from the person whose name had been signed.

I believe that's Relm's handywork -- a number of the letters are signed the way yours was. "Fork" or "Bear" or whatnot.
