[As the populous of Alexandria begin to gain control over the onslaught of monsters - admittedly, thanks to the presence of Alexander - Serah, Hope, and Vanille finally have a spare minute to rest and pause, rather than fighting to help others or just to save themselves. So, Serah pulls out her phone. Still no calls, no news: not even her Lightning and Fang appearing in the city.

Her hands are white from gripping the phone, her heart in her mouth. She presses the button she's been somewhat avoiding, and somewhat hoping she wouldn't have to push, that she'd know by now.

Ring ring, Lightning. Please, please pick up.]

[ooc: WOO BACKDATING. Hope, Vanille, feel free to jump on this since they'd probably all together in Alexandria! Also Fang if you're with Lightning.]

[ It takes a moment or two for Lightning to answer -- despite all the Curaga spells in the world, she's still pretty bruised up, and her (thankfully) non-sword arm is still in a sling. When she sees the number of the caller, though, she answers promptly. ] Serah!

[She answered, and she can see her. She's alright. ... even though not completely, but, it's nothing she can't handle, right? Right? Serah feels a rush of relief sweep over her, and she half chokes out a sob as she replies to her.] Sis-! Thank goodness, I- I thought-

She can't kill me that easily. [ Despite all appearances to the contrary. Lightning smiles at her sister, though, trying to put her at ease. ] How about you? Are you guys alright?

Mm. Lufene, was she... you didn't do anything reckless, did you...? [she trails off, but her face is clearly worried, perhaps a little stern. a look she's definitely learnt off you, light.]

[she nods, showing her Alexandria and Hope and Vanille nearby.] We're alright. We came to Alexandria after finding Hope, and... a lot of things happened. But we're... we're helping out as best we can. Staying safe, too.

Good. I'll head there as soon as I can. [ She's pointedly avoiding the look and the question. ] I don't know if I'll be much help, but..

[She noticed. She's looking away and not answering. That means yes, she probably did. Serah internally holds back the sigh and the fear that sweeps over her at that. Now's not the time, so she doesn't say anything.]

Okay. We'll be waiting... let us know when you get here, okay?

[she nods.] Don't worry. We'll look out for you, for each other.

[Hope had mostly been hanging back with Vanille, but when it sounds like the sisters are done talking, he comes forward and addresses Serah. He's still a little awkward about talking to her, but he's getting slowly used to having her around.]

Hey, um -- do you mind if I talked to Light?

[Serah looks away from the camera, up to Hope, offering a smile and a nod. She's a lot more relaxed than she was before: still worried, but not as tense.]

Sure. Here.

[She passes it over, camera showing the floor before it realigns again.]

I'll be over with Vanille, okay? Let me know when you're done.

[Hope takes the phone from her, and the camera movies to show his face as Serah walks away. It's pretty obvious he's been worrying about Lightning from his expression, and now is no exception.]

Hey, Light? Fang told me about where you went. How'd it go?

[ She smiles at him, grateful to see that he's in one entire piece. ] It went about as well as it could have. [ She gestures to her shoulder. ] The mages said it'll be another day before I can travel. I'm supposed to cast Cura once a day to make sure the healing process goes swiftly.

As well as it-- [Wait, WHAT.] You're hurt? What happened?!

[ Flat stare. ] I was in a fight.

[Hope frowns, unhappy.] Why didn't you take me with you? I could've helped.

It was too dangerous. I was lucky to get out alive.

[He's quiet for a couple of seconds, then:] You're coming to meet us soon, right?

Yeah. As soon as I can get there.

[His tone is flat; he's still unhappy.] Okay. See you soon, then.
