[Garnet sits to the side, looking miserable, bundled up for winter in loose dress and heavy fur-trimmed cloak. She's ashamed of her silence during the meeting, but she could not bring herself to speak. Alexandria could not be a leader, when it's ruler lost focus and struggled just to maintain order... Some Queen she was...]
[Gazing over towards the somber queen, Edward couldn't help but wonder if Queen Alexandros was well. From what Rydia told him, her husband recently vanished from the world without a trace just like he did. Edward felt guilty for all the needless stress he caused for his friends and allies, but most of all he could sympathize with Garnet in her time of sadness.]
Ah, Lady Alexandros...?
[He approached cautiously in hopes that she wouldn't mind his sudden intrusion.]
[At his address, she looks up, flustered. Was it so obvious she was disengaged? Of course it was... She couldn't delude herself so much. ]
Oh. Edward. Please, just Garnet is fine. I'm sorry... I am well, but... First Zidane disappears, now Eiko... I don't know if I'm strong enough for this right now.
T-There's no need to apologize, Lad--I mean, Garnet! I know much about the trials you face now, and I honestly hope for the return of both King Zidane and Lady Eiko.
I cannot believe that such a tragedy would happen so soon after Winterfest, but you are not alone, Garnet.
[There may not be much that the council may do regarding these disappearances, but Edward certainly to assist Garnet in anyway he can.]
Rydia, my friend, and I shall help assist you in anyway possible. That is a promise!
[She smiles, just a little. ]. Thank you. I appreciate the gesture. I know, I am not alone, but there.... [thoughtful pause.. A shift in posture, as she wraps her arms around herself] there are things I will just have to push through.
[Having made her rounds, Ursula is now looking for a place to the side where she could have a moment to breathe. Since Ceodore had seen fit to volunteer the young princess for the ruling of Narshe, she is trying to rise to the occasion...but internally is a bit overwhelmed. Perhaps it won't seem so daunting tomorrow. So, she hopes.
Upon spotting a convenient location, Ursula heads over...and pauses upon seeing the young queen. She's heard of King Zidane's departure, of course, and its effect on his wife is evident. For once, the princess seems as uncertain as she feels. To go to stay? She doesn't want to intrude, after all.]
[she's there long enough, though, for Garnet to notice her. She looks at the younger girl, seems to sense her discomfort... And clings to the opportunity for distraction.]
it's alright. I don't bite. You can sit with me if you like. [Garnet motions he closer]. You're Ceodores friend.... Ursula, wasn't it?
Fabul... [Garnet smiles a little] Like the Regent's family name. [Smiling still, she shakes her head]
With everything that's happened in this world, we have to look to those with experience, even if they're not native to these lands. You seem like a very capable young woman... how old are you?
I'm seventeen, Your Majesty. I have my father's example to guide me, though my only real experience until now has been as a substitute for King Cecil in Troia.
Please, no need for formalities. Just Garnet is fine. [She seems genuinely engaged.] You know, I was just about your age when I ascended the throne of Alexandria. A little younger, actually. [She flusters, a little] Oh, I hope I don't sound like I'm bragging. It wasn't pleasant circumstances by any means. I just want you to know... I think you'll do jsut fine. Princesses are raised for just such occasions, aren't they?
[Ursula shakes her head reassuringly; it doesn't sound like bragging to her.]
I suppose this is true; I just never expected to do so for a long time. My father is a strong and healthy man. I'm certain he will rule for a long time to come.
...I hope there will still be time for my training. He would be disappointed if I did not better myself as a monk.

[Obviously, she was proven wrong. She tries to keep her tone light, though.]
