[When Lufene had launched her assault, Mateus had considered remaining within the palace and letting the vermin of the world and the witch fight it out, if they wiped each other out, so much the better. However, while the idea had some merit to it, it was rather a dull one and there was the slight possibility that Lufene might just be able to take out those gathering up against her. The best place to be to take advantage of that would be there with her so as to take advantage of the likely weakened state the witch would be in after the fight.

So it was he found took for himself one of the dragons which did the woman's bidding and followed her path of destruction, though he did nothing himself to add to it. He was merely here to observe and if the opportunity arose, take out the tailed brat who had been so bold as to invade his palace.
