[Action] For anyone in Alexandria

[Entering Alexandria proved to be a simple matter and within an hour of wandering through the city's streets he was ready to write it off as a useless place fit only as a starting point to get him off to Lindblum and thus that much closer to finding himself transportation to where he desired to be headed. He was considering heading to the transportation he had noted to get started on his way when something interesting caught his attention.

Changing his direction to head closer toward the water's edge, he took in the flowers and the lights gliding in and about them. There was something interesting about those lights really, though a rather large creature now moving through the water momentarily distracted him from their study. Well. It would seem the city had something worthwhile to observe after all.]

Just what are those beasts?

They're called Shoopuf's. They're pretty friendly, really. Some people even ride on them."

[Zidane was just passing by, dressed in his street clothes, with a lunch bag from the market under his arm. He'd snuck off from the palace to get some 'real food' for a change.]

[The Monkey King could only eat the fancy castle food for so long before he started craving something slightly overcooked and hard to identify.]

[He blinked at the answer and the sound of the familiar voice, turning his head to look down at the blond figure not far from him. He kept the recognition hidden behind the usual surprise anyone might have upon getting spoken to unexpectedly. No need to give it away that he knew the one who spoke to him.]

I see. [He turned his gaze, though not his attention back to the creatures in question.] Are they native?

Nope. They're from...I want to say Spira. I think that's the world they said.



But they're friendly, and harmless, so nobody minds them being here.

I see. Harmless...hm?

[The words are mostly murmured, though he keeps the disappointment out of his voice. Still, such beasts could be useful despite their nature..so its possible he might have reason to spare them should he need such interesting beasts of burden in the future.]

Well, I suppose if some scared them they could break some stuff running around, but pretty much harmless.



I keep meaning to ride one but forgetting when I actually have some free time.

[Well, that sounded somewhat promising. Turning his attention back off the 'Shoopufs' and onto the blond monkey before him, he studied Zidane quietly for a second before speaking once again.]

What is wrong with now or is there an errand I am keeping you from?

[The name was let loose intentionally, more or less to see how he'd react to him knowing it without having been actually told it by the monkey boy.]

[Steiner had come around to the Shoopufs. They were gentle beasts, and very useful for getting around.

Right now, what concerned him was an argument that had broken out between an Alexandrian noble and his wife, and a Hypello. The noblewoman was drenched and bedraggled; she appeared to have fallen in the water.

"I demand compensation! My wife has suffered undue humiliation, and moreover, she has lost her hat!"

The Hypello shrugged. "But ze Shoopuf saved her..."

"It scooped her out and lost her hat in the process! This is an outrage, I tell you-"

Ever quick to spot trouble, Steiner clanked his way over to the couple.]

Ho there! What's going on over here?

[He watched the interaction silently from a reasonable distance away the quarreling nobles, likely his interest in the altercation would have waned within the first minute of it but was unexpectedly renewed as the new arrival clanked onto the scene. Gesturing briefly with one hand at the trio he decided to answer the man's question before the duo could continue their tirade at this new target.]

It seems the lady fell into the water and lost her hat, the man is currently blaming the creature's action of plucking her from the water as the reason she lost it.

Hmph! We shall have no fighting here.

[Despite the noble couple's protests, Steiner firmly sent them on their way before turning back to the helpful stranger.]

Thank you for explaining the situation. I assure you, we will not tolerate trouble of this sort in Alexandria!

[He nods at the words and decides to see if he can't get any information out of the man by playing the part of a wandering foreigner. The man strutted about as if he held some authority in the place.]

You're welcome. Might I inquire as to your name and station here? Am I right in thinking your an authority within this city? You have a rather commanding presence.

[For a man who sounded and looked like a walking tin can anyway... still flattery never hurt anyone and was far more likely to get him answers than demands currently.]

I was seeking transportation to a place called Lindblum actually. The transportation you have within this city does go there I hope?

Of course! There are many airships which fly to Lindblum, and the cable cars will take you there too.
