[The Warrior of Light is standing on one of the docks in Luca, wearing all of his armor. He isn't quite as rock-steady as he usually is- there's some shifting in his stance that betrays nervousness, but he has a reason for it. The question he's about to ask is one that has been weighing heavily on his mind since he arrived in this world, and he both anticipates and dreads getting an answer to it.]

I understand that there are many people from other worlds present on Gaia, and even locations drawn from other worlds. With that thought in mind, I ask if any of the Sky People within this world recognize me from their own.

[He pauses and takes a breath before looking straight into the video feed before continuing. He can't stop now.]
 
A strange question, to be sure, but there is reason for it. I have lost memory of my home world. I do not recall anything about it, not even any name it might have had, or a location upon it that I might have found familiar.

For that reason I wondered, since I have been told that there are people from many different worlds present in this realm, if any knew me from their own and could tell me of where I hail, and who I am. Even if it does not spark my own memories, it would be welcome knowledge.

[OOC: I'm assuming that the Firion rescue party went to Luca after getting out of the Ice Caverns.]

I would believe myself to be a sky person, since the armor I wear seems foreign to this world, but I cannot speak with absolute certainty.

It took him a moment to recognize where he seen such elaborate armor before, but once he remembered the time he spent in Lindblum the Marquis smiled. After several months passed since the Warrior of Light's disappearance, this loyal native of Cornelia emerges once more upon Gaia.]

Aye, I recognize you but I cannot proclaim to know much about you. You hail from another realm, one that is not my own. We met briefly within the streets of Lindblum, I am Halim.

Wherever has your memories gone?

[That results in a moment of confusion- he hasn't even been to Lindblum yet, and this man isn't at all familiar. Then he remembers that woman, Rydia, who he had spoken to before. She had said that he had been present in this world before, some time ago, which would probably explain this man's story.]

I am told that I have been in this realm once before, but I cannot recall it, if that is what you mean by asking of my memories. However, I am pleased to meet you, Sir Halim.

[He pauses for a moment, rethinking the man's words for a moment.] Forgive me, but... from your words, it would seem that you know of the world I do hail from.

[Amnesia? No, no. It couldn't be amnesia, but the young warrior seemed to have forgotten everything regarding Gaia since Halim last seen him. This wasn't the first time the Marquis witnessed such an oddity. Not too long ago, even his dear niece lost her memories after a tragic fall in Narshe. The trauma was substantial enough to jolt her four years back in her memories.]

Ah, I do not know of where you are from, but you once spoke of a kingdom named Cornelia. T'was called 'The City of Dreams', a city that once existed here on Gaia. I naught of what transpired, but like you, Cornelia vanished suddenly.

I suppose the dreams came to a end...

[Even if it is secondhand information, at least he is learning something. It disturbs him, though, to find out that he told Halim these things, and yet he cannot remember either the information, or the man he told it to.]

The city of dreams... [All of a sudden, the man's last comment strikes his mind in an abrupt, nasty way. Cornelia, the city of dreams, the place he supposedly came from. Was the city itself a dream, not a place truly meant to exist, as the man had implied? And if he came from that city... would that mean that he was a dream too?

The thoughts hit him like a physical blow, and he goes noticeably pale.]

[Halim hesitated to say anything else for the warrior suddenly became quite pale.] I have naught else to tell, only those words I can give. We spoke briefly, exchanged names or lack there of before parting ways. It was then that you vanished, never to be seen again.

[He's still shaken, and not entirely paying attention to Halim any more. He is trying to deny the thought of being simply a dream, but it's hard to find reasoning against it. It makes horrible sense, after all.]

I know not, for certain. At times, it seems random. Otherwise, I have heard of those longing for home before they vanished. Yet, so many here are homesick and they do not follow suit. The connections we have with others can also be important. When one arrives, it is possible and even likely that their friends and allies from home might appear, as well. In reverse, those who vanish might trigger a chain of departures, as their loved ones return as well. But this is not always so....

That is my hope as well, though I would satisfied to simply learn of my home from another who knows it. It seems, though, that the only ones who recognize me do so because I was present in this world once before, another thing I have no memory of.
