[Eiko is not happy. Eiko is NOT HAPPY. Garland's got his comeuppance coming to him, and so does Kuja as far as she's concerned. But just like almost everyone else she knows, she's figuring that trouncing Garland will send everyone home. Everyone. Like the summoners, and Denzel and Marlene and Relm and OH CRYSTAL NO Vivi too. This, she does not like, and it manifests in tantrums over petty stuff all day long until the castle staff is ready to throw her out a window.

After this last tantrum, she flicks on her phone, to boss her Shrine team with what she knows, pointing her finger at the screen to emphasize her point.]

Listen up, I've been to the Water Shrine so I know everything about it. Do what I say and we'll beat that creep quick.

And I better get to see my friends before they leave. I mean it!

[Oh dear, pouting. And the tone of her voice right now is a little scary, too.]

[He decides, for the sake of his own safety, to take Eiko's word for it that she'll be okay. All he personally really remembers vividly of the shrines is desperately clinging to Steiner-the-anchor to avoid being blown away. They'd fought something there but it hadn't been quite as bad as being scratched near to ribbons by dirt and sand and small rocks carried by the impossibly strong winds.]

Um. I asked to go, I guess.

[He'd actually been all ready to fight his corner on that one. If figured the one time he gathered up his courage he didn't actually need it that much.]

[Eiko's arms cross over her chest and she stomps over to her bed and plunks down in a huff.]

I don't want you to go away!

[That's it in a nutshell. She's jealous of Vivi getting to go, but ultimately, it's all about her fear of being left again.]

[He wants to say he won't. He really, really wants to lie and say he'll come back even though he's quite sure he probably won't. But he really has no right to lie to her and treat her like a child just because it makes things easier for him. He sighs and sits quietly on the ground near the bed, looking up at her.]

Stupid, stupid Garland. I HATE HIM!

[And she's back to yelling. She even throws one of her cute moogle plushie pillows across the room. Eiko is an absolute fright when she's angry and she's still too young to have any other way to express her fear and sorrow than fury.]

[Vivi chases after the pillow to retrieve it, taking care to not stand in the path of any thrown objects. He crouches down to check that it's undamaged and brings it back to the bed quietly. He has no idea what he can say to make the situation any better and just nods, handing the pillow back.]

[Eiko takes the pillow and cuddles it, pulling it up just under her chin. Then there's a sniffle. A super soft sniffle. But she's not crying. Nosiree, no tears here.]

[Vivi knows better than to call attention to the sniffle and the not-at-all-crying. He clambers up and sits quietly on the edge of the bed, swinging his legs. He stares at his feet for a while and then looks up again.]

He won't get to come back this time. We'll make sure.

[He nods, still having no idea what to say.]

You can choose what spell if you want.

[He's normally less open about his abilities, he's certainly not all that proud of being so capable of destruction and he'd rather people didn't know, but Eiko already knows what he's capable of. And offers of violence might help. Somehow. Clueless Vivi is kind of clueless.]

[Vivi sort of feels like 'I will violence a bad guy for you' is not quite a proper way to cheer someone up but it seems to have worked at least a little.]

Are you- are you gonna be okay after everything?

[Maybe he should have quit while he was ahead but that would be running away and he knows it. If there's anything he can do to make this whole thing any less horrible for Eiko he should do it.]
