It's close to sunset, by the placement of the shadows and the hue of the sky, as well as the sun's glow reflected on the thoughtful Viera. She doesn't speak for a moment, just taking it in. Then, she snaps out of her trance and stares at the screen.]

After much consideration, I have applied to join SeeD.

[There's a brief flicker of a smile, trying not get her hopes up.]

I know not if I will be found acceptable, but it is my hope nonetheless.

[A disgruntled cheep can be heard out of view and Mjrn half-smiles for a moment.]

I believe Chit suspects. She will not long allow me out of her sight. Yet, it must happen....

Those without a cause beyond the accumulation of wealth may become anyone's tool to misuse.

You speak without consideration for practicality. Even the honorable require funds for training, maintenance, sustenance, and other necessities. To ask them to do without would be senseless and serve no one.

Even so, there is no honor among those whose loyalties can be bought and sold to the highest bidder.

And who are you, to explain such things? You know not these people or what they have done for this world. You know not of me. You disdain what you do not understand. Such inflexibility I had thought only belonged to the Viera who yet dwell in the Wood. In this world, where we must all adapt, you ought know better.

Fighting for a cause that you believe in, and fighting for anyone who can afford your services are what separate honorable men from mere mercenaries.

It is true, I know not of this "SeeD" organization that you speak of, but you would do well to remain wary until you know their intentions for certain.

I do not trust blindly. I have known them for a year, since my arrival. In that time, they have shown to me that honorable mercenaries are not a contradictory term. If you insist on passing judgment, at least first take the time to observe them with your own eyes.
