Alexandria has changed quite a bit since Gaia decided to give itself a make-over. The vine-like waterways, weaving in and out of the city, wears a coat of magnificent flowers in bloom. The most interesting phenomenon, other than the large elephantine like animas – reminiscent of a certain Queen some of us have unfortunately known – would have to be the luminescent orbs floating aimlessly, as if gravity had no effect on them. There’s much to be said about them, but when it comes down to it these insubstantial points of light are oddly reminiscent of the cycle of life - namely death. Fascinating! Maybe a divine force from above is showering down Alexandria with a harbinger in the form of a visual. At least it’s pleasing to the eyes.

[This means he’s either in or has been to Alexandria recently. Watch out.]

Since we’re seeing aspects being added and taken away at random, who’s to say that the entire city of Alexandria herself isn’t next? I certainly wouldn’t miss a few of the bodies it holds, particularly one masked in layers of old, rusty armor – and while we’re at it, why not throw Burmecia in the mix? No one would miss the useless little vermin.

Thank goodness we have fulfilling events to look forward to which keep our heads high in these dark times; specifically a certain wedding between an infamously common thief and a Queen of an entire Kingdom. I haven’t heard of many, or any for that fact, matrimonies in where two polar opposites of the social and economic spectrum have joined in union and been successfully happy ‘until death do us part,’ but maybe things will be different.

I'll thank you not to insult my mother in such a way. How dare you, after what you did, after how you used her...

And whom I marry is not your concern or business. Zidane is a hero, a man of honor, and that speaks louder than any of your veiled slander.

[oh yes, the little princess-turned-queen has quite a tongue on her!]

My mother was not herself those days. You didn't see the look in her eyes as she died on those shores, apologizing for her wrong doings. And you say she's not my true mother... no, she did not give birth to me, but she raised me and loved me as her own. What would you know of 'true' mothers or otherwise? It's not as if you've ever had one, have you.

Who are you to say what is or isn't meant to be? We love each other, and that is all that matters.

My mother lost her mind, that doesn't void all the things she said and did in her lifetime. She was a kind, generous queen, a devoted wife, and loving mother, and your words will not do anything to change my mind. You did not know her as I knew her.

And for your information, my children, will be loved and cherished until the day I die.

I'm through having this conversation with you. I won't allow you to continue insulting me, or manipulate my feelings.

[Recognizing his voice for the umpteenth time, Aerith speaks.]

Large elephantine like animals? What are you talking about? Has Alexandria changed too?

I would, but I have other things to do.

What do you think of my handiwork, Kuja?

You could call it a happy accident. It's a side effect of me removing more souls from Gaia.

I'll be sending some new pets your direction this week. Enjoy them.

There's a madman on the loose. Has a taste for the destructive. See if you can't bridle him. He can kill as many of them as he likes, but I don't want him destroying the face of the planet itself.

Good. Oh, Zidane's outlived his usefulness. He may be eliminated along with the Gaians. Do with him as you like.

Not a fan of the royal city? I have to admit, the idea of sucking up to some stuffed shirt who wears a crown isn't exactly my idea of a good time, either.

There aren't any laws enforcing the rest of us to bow while in the presence of royalty, are there? Because I don't intend on falling in line if there is.

Insults from a man too stupid to realize he already lost his war.

I feel just terrible now.

Three years of peace was a pretty good clue.

And here you are with no army, so I'm not really sure what you're going to fight a war with, if you really think it's not over.

You fiend! How dare you insult the Queen and her fiancé!?

[Brb, doubling security and searching the entire city for signs of Kuja.]

No matter how powerful you are, Kuja, you shall never break the bonds of love!

That does not make it any less true!

Hmph. You're not worth listening to. You haven't changed at all.
