[Picking up the phone upon the second or third ring, Ondore finally answered. Half expecting this to be a relative on the other end, the old Marquis was certainly in for a surprise.]
I'm afraid I cannot tell you that right now. But yes, I am well aware of the man-hunt for Sephiroth. Luckily, I have someone who will continue to give them false directions.
Quite crafty you, but how long can such a farce truly last? The people I spoke with seem quite adamant about forsaking their own humanity in hopes of drenching their blades in crimson. Surely, you know that running from these fools is not a solution, nor is handing over Sephiroth to a mob of murderous fiends.
What transpired outside of Lindblum? Everyone has taken their leave from here!
It will need to last until Sephiroth is away from insanity's door. We are hiding in a place no one would think to look.
Unfortunately, I don't know all the details. Only from what I saw and gathered. Sephiroth only told me so much. What transpired was that Cloud was dying and was angry and upset. He spoke to Sephiroth, no doubt blamed him for everything or some such nonsense and finally, Sephiroth acted on an impulse he had been striving to tame. If and when Cloud is brought back, no one will truly know unless Sephiroth himself makes some kind of an announcement.
If Sephiroth was to make a statement now, the people would lynch him! No one shall give this man an ear, but rather a blade instead.
[After having a run in with some of the lynchers, Ondore was sure that Sephiroth would be committing suicide by speaking in public regarding this matter while tempers are flaring.]
Cloud Strife, correct? Aye, I do believe that is his name. That man claimed he could defeat Kefka without the aid of Lindblum's soldiers not too long ago. Instead of showcasing his skills, the mercenary merely bestowed arrogance towards those upon the council. Therefore, I am inclined to favor more with the General in this matter for that man certainly managed to upset the Alexandrian Queen quite easily.
We shall never know what sort of words were exchanged between Sephiroth and Cloud, but I am certain that the General wouldn't have attacked unless provoked. However, all of Cloud's supporters claim otherwise.
He has beaten Sephiroth before and who knows, perhaps he has beat Kefka as well. We don't know what truly happened in that Void he and his friends have talked about. Regardless, Sephiroth and Cloud are SOLDIERs, but to provoke Sephiroth while dying was folly.
I am fairly certain that is what caused Sephiroth to attack in the first place.
Did Cloud do more than merely exchange harsh words with the General? If so, then this should be known to all who claims Sephiroth is the cause of this.
I've already tried. I've told quite a few who managed to respond to that little accidental video but everyone refuses to believe me. I don't know if Cloud did only that or more. That would be for the guards who witnessed it and for Cloud to say if he comes back.
What makes you think that the young man will cheat death so easily to support your claims? I may not know Strife well, but if the General is his foe---then wouldn't this be the opportunity he had hoped to damage Sephiroth's relations with others by stating lies?
It's quite clear that General Sephiroth is the nemesis of Miss Lockhart and her fallen fiance.
[Certainly not the reply he expected to hear, but this is something they could use in their favor in proving Sephiroth's sanity.]
Therefore, why would the General kill one of the few to believe in his sanity unless provoked? This alone should be able to prove that Sephiroth is no fiend, but no one shall listen.
And so, we hide. Bide our time while they go on a fools errand. In the meantime, Angeal and I will be here for Sephiroth. If possible, we may have help from others, but who knows.
I trust you already know that you can rely upon my aid, but I tell you this now---I may stray from Lindblum soon. My reasons lie upon my injured niece who've traveled to Narshe as of late.
I know naught of what has happened, but Lady Ashe is quite unwell.
[He's been standing on the docks, watching the water below when Genesis had come to him and spoke. Nodding once in acknowledgment, he took the phone from the redhead, least he could do was apologize for possibly causing the man trouble with his abrupt departure]
[Quite surprised that Genesis actually honored his request, Halim was truly glad to hear Sephiroth's voice.]
General, I thank the Heavens for allowing you both the clarity of mind to leave Lindblum when you did. I am certain you already know of the knaves who plot to rein you in. After much deliberation regarding this matter, it would seem that reason alone couldn’t thwart their efforts.
Therefore, I shall ask the two of you to practice patience during this conflict. Rhapsodos has already ensured me of your innocence in this unfortunate case, but I must ask---what transpired between you and Strife?
[The knowledge that there were those who planned to hunt for them was nothing new, he'd expected such even before Genesis had told him of it. The knowledge that he somehow seemed to still remain within the Marquis' good graces despite what happened was good to know...even if the question asked wasn't one he cared to discuss for any length of time. The voice was civil and calm, if somewhat cool when he answered.]
He called me out to meet with him before the gate. I had no reason then to refuse seeing him so I agreed to meet with him. Unfortunately it would seem that doing such was a mistake on my part.
[There is some small amount of silence, since the first statement reminded him of the fact there had been that unfortunate accident with the video capability on his phone. Finally he sighs rather quietly before responding to the man]
You would be correct. Considering my 'malady' was displayed for all to see upon the network unfortunately.
He gave no reason on the phone, though..[a small pause, the tone is almost slightly bitter, though its rather a subtle bitterness] all he seemed to desire after I arrived was to stare at this new appendage I have now. That..and rant.
[Silence again reigns for few moments before he finally speaks again]
As I said, it was my mistake to agree to the meeting considering I knew he was still recovering from that affair with the Rooks on the docks.
[So not only did Cloud seek out the General, but he purposely roused the fragile minded man's rage during an ill-conceived rant. Strife truly did have a death wish...]
Strife was already stricken with an illness of his own or was he attacked by the Rooks?

Date: 2010-04-02 07:09 am (UTC)The Rooks contain nethicite...and you've no doubt seen it's effect upon both myself and Genesis.
Strife..has something within him which is also within Genesis and I..though he received it in a different manner.
It thus effected him in just as negative manner though in a different way than it affected both Genesis and I...
