[ A pleasant sort of static greets the ears of the viewer, effectively muffling the words of the those speaking for a minute, give or take ten to twenty seconds. Anyone familiar with the mountain region and its surrounding territory at the northern end of the Lost Continent might recognize the rocky structure of the snow-laden cliffs that cradle Narshe immediately in the background. Anyone at all familiar with the world would certainly recognize little more than two digits of a moogle's paw obscuring what presently serves as the top of the visible image. The static quickly subsides and a voice, clearly feminine and hot with indignation, forces aside any promise of cryptic silence. ]
-- mean to deceive me?
[ A small wave of loud, and therefore presumably closer, voices urge many a "n-no," "nono," and "kupo" forward. The image sways left and right, left and right, as though one were observing the world through the eyes of some drunk subject to motion sickness. Then -- ]
Enough!
[ "K-k-k-kupo!" ]
I have no time for children's games!
[ Snow crunches briefly beneath leather boots and waffle-guarded paws. A small stretch of silence follows, then more snow-crunching, followed by a slightly longer stretch of silence.
"Wh-what are you looking for, kupo?" ]
The blackg'rd that summoned you.
[ Anger tinges those words, but it is a cold sort of anger, one motivated not only by confusion and gradually mounting frustration, but by duty and a strong sense of purpose now inexplicably hindered. (It does not help that who or whatever has brought about these circumstances clearly means to mock her. Moogles are but creatures of myth and legend in Ivalice, the sole exception being the summon, and summons do not wander from their summoner; they do not amass and steal lady knights from their company. Even if they could, this lady knight would surely have noticed and not awakened in an unfamiliar region covered from head to toe in snow whilst surrounded by mythical creatures waving peculiar devices and --)
"You really should use this!"
If her tone is any indication, the moogle holding the skyphone is beaming and in good spirits despite the woman's malcontent. No sooner than she finishes her cheerful little exclamation does the image explode into a violent whorl of color. The device is thrust into the gloved hand of what can now be identified as a human female -- blond, her hair styled in the fashion of an age typically recalled in fairy tales and the like, with narrowing amber eyes and a face not at all unpleasant look at. White and blue are the predominantly visible colors about her apparel, which is scarcely seen from that angle save for a gleaming pauldron upon her shoulder.
The skyphone's digits are still being pressed, albeit fewer than they were at first following the exchange. Few enough that the woman's words are intelligible and much more easily heard. If she sounded unhappy before, she sounds very unhappy now, and that's putting it nicely. ]
-- you! What manner of --
[ "It's on, kupo!"
"Uh oh!"
"Here, let me!"
The dissonant sound of rapidly crunched snow, many voices spouting words that run into each other, and several grunts is drowned out by a loud Beep beepbeep, b-buh-BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP and the feed cuts out. ]

Date: 2010-03-03 11:08 pm (UTC)Ah, you as well? Of late, I have dwelled in Dalmasca. The city of Rabanastre, to be specific.

Date: 2010-03-06 02:04 am (UTC)[ She pauses briefly, her curiosity getting the best of her. ]
If I may, what are they like?
Date: 2010-03-06 05:24 pm (UTC)Neither? Truly?
[Well, anyway.]
Dalmasca is a kingdom surrounded by desert. It is not large, yet its location on the Galtean Peninsula causes it to be an ideal location for trade. The desert and plains are populated by roving beasts and nomads, who raise cockatrices and produce sunstones. Dalmasca's settled population, aside from those who gather in a village on the River Nebra, are concentrated in Rabanastre.
[Pauses, looking slightly wistful.]
Rabanastre is large, or so it seemed large to me. It was the first hume city my eyes had even seen. Humes dominate, but many other races gather; the moogles, bangaa, seeq, and so on. Many operate at the Muthru Bazaar, selling their wares. The moogles operate a service, in which they magically transport citizens and visitors around the city.
In truth, I cannot explain all of Rabanastre. My stay numbered in a handful of days, ere I was brought to Gaia. Thus, my exploration was ended prematurely.

Date: 2010-03-18 07:54 pm (UTC)You truly have an eye for detail, Mjrn. By your description, Rabanastre sounds a place worthy of exploration; though, I must confess I am not familiar with the races of which you spoke either. The Ivalice I know is alleged to have once been home to moogles, but humans are the sole race that reside within the kingdom's borders and, to my knowledge, beyond them as well.
[ She pauses once more -- ]
Forgive my ill manners.
[ -- and inclines her head slightly forward. ]
I am Agrias Oaks, a captain of the Lionsguard of the kingdom of Ivalice. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mjrn.

Date: 2010-03-19 09:08 pm (UTC)It is a pleasure to make yours, as well. Your words regarding Ivalice are intriguing; only once have I heard it described thus, by Sir Heiral. I wonder if another will arrive, carrying tales of yet another Ivalice, far different from either that we know.

Ser Delita? He and I hail from the same Ivalice. I trust he has treated you well? [ As a knight, she would expect no less of him. If they are the sole people to reach this 'world' from their time, it falls to them to properly represent their own. ]
