Hey, anyone heard from Faris recently? I've been trying to contact him since those undead started moving north but the skyphone's saying it can't reach him. I'm...a little worried.

[When the phone clicks on, it shows the gardens in Alexandria Castle, looking much the same as they always do. The shoopuf's are in the distance, milling about, but the camera zooms in on a patch of grass much closer to the holder. In the shadows and sunlight between the trees are a large number of very small people, working rather rapidly to set up a place to live. It appears someone rescued the Tozus citziens after all, and now the gnomes are making a home in the palace garden. There's a make-shift camp already, with tents made from rags and toothpicks and a little well that appears to be connected to a large glass of water. Clothes are held up on twine to dry, and several tiny women are walking around with baskets of what are probably seeds for dinner.]

[The screen pans to the side to show where a bunch more are constructing actual buildings, just as tiny as themselves. They're chipping pieces of a cobblestone for building supplies, and one man is chopping down what looks like a sapling. After a few good chops he panics and runs to the side as the tiny tree falls.]

[The camera continues to show the people working away for a minute or two before a gloved hand slides into view holding a sign on a piece of paper with some slightly sloppy but readable writing on it.]

Free to a Good Home.

[The hand holds it there for maybe twenty seconds before there's a shout of irritation from nearby in the familiar voice of Garnet.]

Zidane! Cut that out.

[Zidane bursts out laughing, and after a few seconds the phone clicks off.]

[In the last few weeks following Laguna's departure, Raine's returned to old patterns of behavior, compulsively cleaning everything she can get her hands on and nitpicking over little details. Even with taking on a convalescent Selphie, she's nagged and managed to organize the situation, by keeping the girl in bed and confiscating her phone, not to mention enforcing sleeping hours.

The other behavior is the one most familiar to Ellone. Raine has taken to standing in the doorway, looking off into the distance with a pensive expression on her face. She's waiting for her husband to come home again, and she'll continue to do so until he does. He has to. She's convinced of it.

Today's no different and while Slai's dutifully doing her lessons, Raine's standing at the doorway with her mind miles and worlds away.]

[Steiner is back in Alexandria. Preparations for the ball will soon be underway, but right now Steiner has other concerns.

Steiner has requested an audience with Garnet, in private. He wouldn't do this unless it was serious, and indeed his expression is grave as he bows before her. His Queen lost her eidolons, yet kept that fact a secret from him.]

We're going to stay in Lindblum for a while. Eiko invited us - she really wants to see the children again. And I think it's for the best, since... Rinoa was attacked last night.

[Rinoa looks up, tight-lipped. She doesn't speak, so Tifa goes on.]

Anyway, I'm just saying this so you all know where to find us. We'll be coming back - I'm not going to be chased out of my home - but I think we need the break.

Oh, that reminds me - is anyone else going to the Winterfest ball in Alexandria? I heard it's going to be a Masquerade. Sounds fun, right? We'll see you there!
