I was ensnared by the words of a man called Dr. Cidolfus Demen Bunansa. I made the mistake of trusting him even a bit, and he captured me. I became a toy for the whims of a mad scientist once again.

He used a sort of stone from his home world, Ivalice, called nethicite. He tried to... bond it to me, somehow.

I... think it's reacting with the Jenova cells from Hojo, as well as the fact that I am not human, nor from Ivalice.

I've been told that there are two sorts. The first is incredibly powerful, formed naturally. The second is manufactured; that is the sort he used. Both were apparently quite powerful on Ivalice, but here they can only absorb magic.

The ShinRa Company doesn't exist here beyond Rufus and four Turks, and this Wutai is from before the war -- no reactor. Gaia has different rules. I imagine the man either took control or was placed in charge of it.
