[Grey, deadened wasteland, as far as the eye can see. The camera shows the midst of a huge battlefield, littered with long-dead bodies and fallen war machines. In the distance there are ruins of a whole city: derelict skeletons of buildings that have all been long abandoned and fallen into disrepair. In the midst of it all is a lone paladin, taking in the devastation around him as the camera grows closer.]

Here's your Sky Phone, kupo! Need help with how to use it?

[Cecil catches sight of the speaker and reaches to take the phone from the little creature. He shakes his head.]

That won't be necessary, thank you. You're free to leave. This is no place for a...

--Moogle, kupo! Thanks, mister. This place gives me the creeps...

[The camera jerks as Cecil picks up the phone and it moves to his height, then it re-focuses on his face as he tries to remember the phone's functions. While his unnerving surroundings certainly concern him, there are two people he needs to find as soon as possible.]

I'm looking for my family. Their names are Ceodore and Rosa. I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me their whereabouts, and if they're safe.

[Scrambling to find the sky phone. Because she's gone and put it somewhere while focussed on Mysidia's recovery after dark Bahamut's attack. There's the sound of something falling down, an 'eek!' of surprise, and then Porom finally appears on the phone, smiling.]

Cecil! You're back!

[Cecil blinks at the sounds, and looks bemused when she finally appears on the Sky Phone.]

Troia? [That initially doesn't make sense when he'd seen them in Baron only minutes ago, but his memories of Gaia are flooding back quickly enough. He nods.] Good. I'm glad.

[The woman is unfamiliar, though Cecil can't place whether he has yet to remember her, or they haven't spoken before. Regardless, he casts a wary look at his surroundings before he replies.]

[He smiles warmly at her. Okay, so maybe Ceodore gave him a wrong first impression of her, but he does think she's a goodhearted person.]

I'll return to Rosa as soon as I can, I assure you. [Yes, Rydia's already chewed him out about it.]

[And he does look pretty relieved, for Percy. He wasn't all that happy about losing a comrade, and others weren't either.]

[As ever, arguing with Rosa has proven a pointless effort. Her stubbornness always outmatches Cecil, which is why he's now waiting in Figaro instead of going to her as he'd originally planned. He has so much to talk to her about, and is only just beginning to sort through the memories of Gaia in his head. So much has happened between now and then, that he can now sympathise with Rosa and her 17 year gap of time spent at home and then returning to Gaia. Even only a few months spent at home feels like he's been away for years.

After a while, Cecil spots an airship coming in to land. Hoping it's Rosa's ship from Troia arriving, he goes immediately toward it. He knows full well Rosa doesn't want to waste another moment away from him, and so he'll be there waiting the moment she disembarks.]

[ It doesn't take her long. Rosa's been standing at the front of the airship the whole trip, worriedly watching their journey and wishing it would go just a little bit faster. As soon as the ship lands, she's hurrying towards the exit.

She spots Cecil almost immediately and a sense of relief fills her. He's really back. She pauses only slightly in her steps, just long enough to see him, before she's rushing down to throw herself into his arms. She's missed him so much. ]
