It appears this device still functions. I keep forgetting I even have it.

Anyway... I'll be in Troia soon enough. Don't be alarmed when we arrive.

[It's been a busy few weeks for Kain, but now he's swiftly approaching Troia, riding along on Zephyr's back. The young dragon has grown yet more... but at least this time when they come in for a landing, the castle guards have had warning and they know who this is.]

[Kain breathes a sigh of relief. He knows someday he might have to tell his father everything and earn even worse disappointment, but he isn't in a hurry to make that happen.]

She enjoys flight, as do I, so we've spent a lot of time training. There's no greater sensation than flight, to be airborne... but I'm sure you understand that.

[Kain even seems amused, in his quiet subtle way, since showing off to his father means a lot. He wants to be good enough. He doesn't think he is, but he sure wants to keep trying.]

[He leaps up onto Zephyr's back, waiting for his father to join them.]

[Ricard follows Kain in going to sit on Zephyr's back, settling behind him easily. This is the most familiar part of being a dragoon, in his opinion.]

I'm ready when you are.

[Kain nods resolutely, and then signals Zephyr to take off. They soar up into the air at once, high above the land below and speeding along after that.]

[The takeoff doesn't jar Ricard at all, and he keeps his seat easily. For now it doesn't really matter that he isn't the one directing where they're going. He's simply enjoying the flight, and watching how Zephyr flies, and how Kain directs it.]

[And Kain is enjoying this too, it's a moment that he's long dreamed of, and known to be impossible... at least, until now. He gives Zephyr a few directions here and there, and the communication between the two goes smoothly. Overall, the flight is exhilarating, and Zephyr definitely seems to be enjoying herself right now.]

[The tie between Kain and Zephyr is all too obvious, and Ricard is proud of the ease with which the two of them are working together, and impressed by it.]
