[The image that comes up on the screen is a bit unusual - not many messages from inside a chocobo stable, after all. The video is off three chocobo chicks, partially grown - about two feet tall at the tip of their crest feathers, not impossible to pick up but getting pretty close. One's yellow, two are a light blue, and there's a sheep mixed in there somewhere as well as Pollo's baaah is a pretty near-constant sound. Occasionally a piece of white wool or a smiling black face can be seen from the flurry of feathers as the chicks are frolicking around, apparently playing a game of sorts with the sheep.]

Delita, we need to figure out what to do with them soon. They're almost too big to stay in Alfa's stall, and I can't afford three- Saff, stop that! [A hand comes into the screen to pull the yellow one's beak off the hank of sheep fuzz that's still attached to Pollo at the sheep's bleat.] You need to be careful or he'll get hurt.

[One of the blue ones starts dancing after her hand with enthusiastic kwehs!, apparently sure a treat is forthcoming. All three have a lot of energy, and Refia sighs.]

Does anyone have room for a spare chocobo?

[Ashe considers this - there is a young maid in their employ, a girl who would likely jump at the opportunity to be a temporary carer.]

Yes, I understand. A member of my household comes to mind - I believe she would gladly care for it - and my husband and I are not without experience ourselves.

[And she smiles at that.] There! If you want one, then I think it would be all right, after they're a little more grown - they're still a little young to leave their mother. But you seem nice, and that's one of the most important things.

[Have the briefest expression of surprise - Ashe isn't used to being described as nice - not to her face, at least. But the surprise fades, and she returns the smile faintly.]

Thank you. I would not have it leave its mother before you deem them ready; thus I would ask you to inform myself or my husband once the time arrives. We can arrange suitable transportation.

... Cordi, he is the one you have in mind?

Cordi's the calmest, but they're mostly worked up when they're all together. They just really like to play and have fun. But Saff is sweet, and Jel is very energetic- a-and you don't have to keep those names if you don't want to, they're just what I call them, since I have to be able to tell them apart.

[The camera moves, showing the chicks as she describes them. The yellow one is Saff, while Jel is the blue who was begging for treats, a slightly different shape from the other two, and so probably the other sex.]

They're good birds - we just don't have enough room in the city for them.

[She watches them, listening. All three are endearing in their play, and she likes the names, so no need to change whichever one the royal family adopt. A difficult decision, but since the little bird will be a friend for Shain...]

Considering the one I choose will become a companion for my child, I believe it wise to opt for the calmest.

[The stone-built outhouse adjoining her residence at the back should convert perfectly, and it will make good, honest work for some of the port's merchants who have little trade to keep them in pocket at this time of year. She offers one more smile, glad to direct it either at Refia or the charming chicks.]

Thank you - though I must confess, never before have I laid eyes on a blue chocobo. Quite astounding.

I never have either before coming here, but they exist - Ardi, their father, is blue. It looks like the other colors have different abilities, but since their mother doesn't I don't know whether Cordi and Jel have it or not and just got the color.
