There was a shooting after the meeting. Vayne Solidor is dead.

[He pauses for a moment.]

No one is sure what happened, really, but they're looking for the assassins.

[He sighs softly.] I'll be home soon.

[Sephiroth is standing in the estate, phone set up on the desk from him as he speaks to it. Tone and manners every inch the General he was back home when he took this country over for Shinra, though admittedly that was a much bloodier takeover than this is.]

In the light of Vayne's death, Wutai is bereft of it's overseer. Thus I have decided that I will take up the mantle of tending to the business of overseeing Wutai's safety and the elimination of the remaining pirate threat.

If you had business with Vayne Solidor, please get into contact with me about it at your earliest convenience so we can discuss matters concerning the business you had with him.

If for some reason you can not reach me, please contact Genesis Rhapsodos, as he will be my partner in overseeing the safety of Wutai and the issues with which Vayne was tending to. He is just as capable in the ability to deal with such issues.

[The manner and expression ease somewhat as he pauses and speaks one last time.]

My condolences go out toward Larsa Solidor, for the loss of his brother.

It is my sad duty to report that Lord Vayne Solidor, originally from the world of Ivalice, but here the governor of Wutai, was shot dead in Troia yesterday. My wife and I would like to express our condolences to his friends and family.

We are currently working hard to find the culprits. If you have any information, I urge you to come forward.
