ATTN: Firmware upgrade

Good morning, citizens and friends of Lindblum. I am Regent Cid, and presently I am overseeing several projects directly stemming from the Midgar Project. One such project is the continuing improvement of the standardized mobile devices we have been issuing everyone.

A firmware upgrade is available as of this morning, introducing several new features to your devices! They're rather useful if I do say so myself...

Ahem, at any rate the features are as following:

• Signatures: Through the options menu, you may now set a signature for each of your posts. This is entirely optional, but it will help identify you to others. I know many of you are looking for friends, or helping others in their search. Hopefully this feature will cut down on the number of introductions needed and aid in reuniting people. The signature may say anything you like, but I suggest it contain perhaps your name and place of origin. You can also add a list of people you're presently looking for. Actually, the possibilities are infinite.
• Avatars: You may now junction avatars to your network posts, as well as set avatars to your contacts list. Avatars may also be saved to your device and sent across the network to others. Please refrain from putting anything profane or explicit on the network, as children do have open access. Anyone violating this trust to use the network wisely will be suspended pending investigation by the Lindblum Guard.
• Global tracking: This feature is still highly experimental and shouldn't be heavily relied on, but using our radio towers in Midgar, Dollet, and Lindblum, we've created a system where you can allow people on your contacts list to track you by turning on the GT feature in your options menu. The location is currently only approximate, but I sincerely hope it will be of use.
• Navigation support: There will be a new feature on your device called 'Map Me', available through the main menu. If you input either two sets of coordinates or two city names, the Map Me feature will draw you a path to use. You can select from 'quickest route', 'shortest distance', 'least Mist exposure', and 'weakest wild monsters'.

To upgrade your firmware, simply download the attachment provided. Make sure that your device is fully charged. We cannot stress this enough. If your device should lose power during the upgrade, it will become unusable, and we will have to issue you a new one. Run the program, and the firmware upgrade will take care of the rest. When your device reboots, all of the new features will be available to you.

As always, we in Lindblum would be profoundly grateful to hear any feedback or suggestions so that we may continue improving our services as well as aid this continent in this confusing time. I am here to answer any questions you may have, and will continue to make myself available to answer them in the days to come.

In the spirit of mutual goodwill, I also hope if anyone has seen my daughter, Eiko, that they will contact me. She has dark blue hair, green eyes, and she's nine years old. Hilda and I miss her terribly.

P.S. -- Does anyone have any suggestions for what we might call this device? Hilda tells me we should name it, but then she says I'm not allowed to dub it the Handheld Hilda Garde.
