[ Nanaki is sitting in front of the camera, blocking out the background and having masked his GPS signal. He is obviously agitated, tail twitching back and forth, and while he's certainly more healthy than he once was (Aerith's healing worked, or at least seems to have worked), there's now a slightly strange shade to both his eyes and the flame on his tail. ]

Dr. Cid has contacted me again. As some of you may know, the man was responsible for my kidnapping and subsequent experimentation with a substance called nethicite. Now, he is threatening not only myself, but the lives of my friends, if I do not stop informing people of what he has done.

[ He frowns, glancing away from the camera for a moment before he looks back at it. ]

As you can see, I have not stopped. This message, therefore, is both an announcement and a warning. The man called Dr. Cidolfus Demen Bunansa lured me away and, with the use of machines called 'Rooks', kidnapped me and then tortured me for his own twisted experiments. I was left deathly ill for a long time after my subsequent rescue. Because I have warned people about his ways, he is accusing me of slander and has threatened to both harm me -- I believe he said both that he would turn me into a rug and send his Rooks after me once more -- and my friends.

[ Nanaki's ears flatten against his skull. ]

Tifa, he knows about your engagement. He knows where you are, and he mentioned your name directly. He has said that he will make it so your wedding will never occur.

[ One ear flicks up, and he sighs. ]

I do not want anyone to come to harm, but I cannot do that by staying silent about his past crimes. Forgive me, my friends, for bringing this danger onto you by spreading the truth -- but it has to be known.

[ With a fierce determination in his eyes, looking remarkably like his late father and a true Cosmo warrior, Nanaki stands. ]

I would rather sacrifice myself to help all of you than to remain silent like a coward. I am Nanaki, Son of Seto, the last protector of Cosmo Canyon. I will live up to my father's legacy. I will stop this man, but I will do it for my friends, not for myself.
