For those of you who are of the acquaintance of Captain Basch fon Ronsenburg, this is simply a missive to inform you that his birthday is the seventeenth of this month. He would likely not mention it himself, but I know he would be touched if those who know him took the time time to give him their appreciation. That is all.

You're not fine. If you were fine, you wouldn't have your arm in a sling. [Another soft sigh, but she's gentle about her words. Mostly because she's been in this situation time and time again. She moves over next to her sister, casting Cure a couple of times on her arm. She's slowly getting better at it, mostly thanks to instruction from Hope and Vanille.

When she's done, she looks to Hope, walking over to stand next to him.] Did you find-?

[Hope concentrates on looking through the network, and after finding a very strange argument about farm animals between a married couple, he eventually finds the most recent text entry, anonymously posted.]

Yeah, I found something. Who's 'Captain Basch fon Rosenburg'? Anyone you know? [Okay, so he pronounced the vowel in 'Basch' wrong, but you get the idea. He looks between the two sisters curiously.]

[hello, Hope's phone. She reads most of it quickly, before filling Hope in.] We... before you got here, Hope, we went up to Narshe. We were looking for Myrrh Trees, before... before everything with the Lunatic Pandora happened. He showed us round.

[She looks to Lightning.] But sis... she's known him longer than that.

Uh, okay...

[Narshe? Myrrh trees? Most of that goes over Hope's head. But if they're just friends, he doesn't know what Lightning's getting so defensive about. The implication they might be more is going way over his head.]

So you're planning on getting your friend a birthday present?

[Serah's suspicions. Can we say they are rising? Yes, we can. She gives a most curious look to Lightning for a moment, contemplating. It's... not an unlikely occurance, for her to buy a present for a friend, but, it's not very often. Going out of her way to do so. Ignoring her very fussy sibling/not!sibling's requests. Being defensive.

Yep. She's definitely starting to wonder if this is beyond getting them together. That... her sister does like him.]

Well... okay.

[Eventually she looks away, blinking, as a thought hits her. It's a fairly innocent question. But it could answer a few things... maybe.] Did he get something for your birthday, too?

[Groooan. Hope you don't mind a belated birthday present at some point, Lightning.]

Getting him something in return is the right thing to do. [ Yes. Yes he did. That book she's been hiding, that she took with her to fight Lufene and all the way to Alexandria? Yeah. ] That's all.

[she nods to Hope.] Just before we went to Narshe. I think... a few days before you were here?

[But sis doesn't get a nod. She gets another curious look, then a nod. So, he did. She offers a smile. You're off the hook for a minute, Light.] Yeah... it is. [she pauses.] Do... do you want one of us to help you get it there? You're not really in a state to travel much more than need be.

[And at that point, A WILD FANG APPEARS! :D Well not really, she walks in through the door, looking at her phone and not up at the surroundings.]

[Hope looks from the message on his phone to Fang, by now extremely confused. Serah and Lightning are acting oddly, and now this? Crazy girls and their crazy girltalk. :|]

...Can someone tell me what's going on?

[ Oh now Lightning is just linefacing at them all, especially at Serah. ] Apparently someone is trying to set me up with the Captain.

[Uh.

Where's your handy partner in crime when you need her? Serah just looks blankly between Fang and Lightning. ... but it can't be from what she's just said or anything she's posted, right? It can't be. She's innocent! She has to be! ... someone... else?

After a couple of seconds, just to Fang:] Really? Was there something on the network?

Oh yeah, there's something on it. [Fang points to the anon-responses from Relm and Marlene - the fact that they called him Mr. Potholder is a dead giveaway.]

Seems like this one set of girls here on Gaia like playin' matchmaker.

[...Oh. Suddenly that makes a lot more sense, but he's still a little confused. He glances at Lightning.] But you said you're just friends with him, right? You're not interested in that kind of stuff.

[ ...Lightning is.. strangely silent. And she's not looking at Hope-- in fact, now she's not looking at anyone. ]

[Silence. This is...

Unusual. That's a word for it.]

[There's a slight sound as Fang drums her fingers on the phone, studying Light with her head slightly tilted and her eyes narrowed...]

[Then she tosses her phone at Hope, trusting him to catch it, and grabs for Light's travel pack. No, she's not asking permission, or saying any words at all. SHE'S JUST TAKING IT. And digging through it.]

[Hope fumbles the phone but manages to catch it. He decides to just keep his mouth shut from now on, clasping both phones in his hands and watching Fang with a perplexed expression.

...It would be reeeally nice if Sazh or Snow were here to translate what is going on here right now.]

[ Oh shit-- ] No, don't--! [ She lunged for Fang, but pulled back when she jostled her shoulder a little too much, wincing as she sat back down in her seat. Using her good arm, she covered her face with her hand, her face bright scarlet. ]

[Serah just stares, stunned. First, at Fang, casually going through the bag. Second, by Lightning's reaction. And her face is red.

Absently, she goes to her sister's arm, fretting, throwing out a couple of Cures, though the success is mediocre - she's paying far more attention to what Fang's doing and what Lightning's obviously trying to hide. She has a feeling of what whatever Fang's looking for is from.]

[And, not having injured herself and then made it worse by not resting, Fang easily evades Light's lunge, still looking. It takes very little time for her to find the book, though, buried at the bottom of the bag. Out it comes, and Fang looks at it for a moment, before flipping the cover open to find... the rose.]

[And that's when she looks up and smirks.]

[Hope steps forwards in shock at seeing her in pain, but Serah has the healing covered. He moves to stand beside Lightning anyway to give her moral support, because apparently he opened a can of worms he had no idea existed, and he now feels incredibly guilty about it. He's never seen her look so embarrassed.]
