[Vague apology is going to be vague, but that's how Kain does these things. He'll leave it public partially as an act of penance, partially because he's still readjusting to these devices and their filters. He isn't even sure that all of these people are here- he's been gone from Gaia for only a couple weeks, but to him it feels much, much longer. ~~Don't worry Zidane, when he realizes you're not here, he'll bother you when you arrive.~~]

Cecil. Squall. Onion Knight. Bartz. Firion. Zidane. I apologize to all of you, especially.

I should also extend that apology to the other warriors of Cosmos as well.

I know... as it was not mine. I am... [ So much with the happy tears now. Well sort of anyway. ] I'm glad you have returned. Many of us missed you.

[ Yes, Kain, Rosa missed you. ]

[...awww. D: Kain can hear the tearing up and... well, he just wants so much to hug her right now.]

[Yeah, it means a lot because it's her.]

Yes. So many people have left recently. You have been here far longer than I... I was worried. [ For a multitude of reasons. ] Zephyr missed you, as well.

I know... I believe you. [ And she believes in him, too. ]

[Awww HE WOULD LIKE THAT. VERY MUCH.]

Many have left? I... wasn't aware. [But it had all happened right around the time he'd left, himself...] Zephyr and I have been reunited. She'll be all right, now that I've returned to her.

But if you have returned... so will they. I am certain of it.

[She pauses just long enough to smile.] I was worried for her as well. [And someone else...] Have you spoken to Reis since you returned?

[Kain won't ask just yet, but he'll find out soon enough, he's sure, who else is missing.]

I have... It seems she spent the whole time worrying and looking after Zephyr. [Along with his father, he has no doubt.] I owe her greatly for helping her.

Yes. She was worried for you, as well. [ Which just... worried Rosa more. ]

Kain... if you are to go into battle, please be careful.

[ She sounds like she wants to ask something else, but... ]

She was?

[It's STILL a huge surprise to him that anyone would ever worry about him whatsoever.]

...I'll... I'll be careful, Rosa, I promise.

[But his voice is incredibly weary, and there really is no chance he's going back out there anytime soon.]

...Rosa? Was there something else?

Yes. We all were, Kain.

[ She pauses. ] I would... rather know you are safe. [ But she knows how he works. ] If possible, I would like to see you.

I didn't mean to cause such concern.

[Nor can be bring himself to tell Rosa what he's just been through. He sighs lightly.]

If you would like... I'm in the infirmary, but I could always go to where you are.

[Yep, someone is looking for an excuse to get up.]

I know... This is the way of Gaia. [ Not that she's pleased by it. ]

I am nearby. I will find you.

[ Which she will do in about two minutes. She hasn't been far from the infirmary since the Lunar Cry. ]

[Kain returns to frowning at the skyphone while he waits, still a little annoyed that all the white mages felt a need to gang up on him as they did. He at least settles back into the bed, not wanting Rosa to scold him for trying to get up as he'd just been about to try.]

[ She won't scold him. She's just going to enter the infirmary, head straight over to him, and lean down to give him a good hug. It won't be hard enough to make him hurt, but it's enough to tell him how much she missed him. ]

Kain... [ "I'm so glad to see you." ]

Rosa...

[He hugs her back with as much energy as he has, not caring if it hurts. He's so glad to see her again, and to have her full attention if even for a moment of time. Even after all the fighting, and two major battles of doom in a row... his feelings for her remain as strong as ever.]

[ Eventually, once she's done crying into his shoulder, she pulls back and takes a seat in a chair next to the bed, giving him a taste of her own healing while she's at it. ]

You really have... returned. I knew you would.

[ For the entire time he'd left, she'd known he would come back. She'd had faith in him and that faith will never waver. ]

[Awww Rosaaaa. Kain tries his best to hug and comfort as much as he's capable of. He gives her a thankful look at the healing, he can use as much as he can get right now. And it always feels the best when she does it for some reason.]

I wish I'd never left in the first place... Had it been my choice, I would remain here, where I belong. I'm... glad you still had faith in me.

[It's too painful to admit that he'd forgotten everything- Rosa, Zephyr, Reis, all of Gaia- while he was off fighting for Cosmos. He'd only been starting to get back some really strong memories from home.]

[ If it makes him feel any better, she'd forgotten, too, so she knows the feeling so well. ]

Kain... I will always have faith in you. [ She offers a watery smile, reaching over to rest her hand over his. ] You are a friend. It's the least I can do.

Are you feeling all right? [ She can sense there's more. Maybe talking about it will help them both. ]

[Awww, Rosaaa. Kain looks away briefly.]

Always a better friend than I deserve... and I'm fine...

[Lets out a deep sigh. It's hard to hide it around her.]

...Not really.

Kain... [ "You deserve it." ]

Mmm I understand. It is difficult to leave and then return, especially if what you experienced was hard to deal with.

Harder than you'll ever know...

I didn't return home. I was summoned to the same war of the gods that Cecil was.

It was hard enough for me just returning home.

[ Her eyes took on a concerned look. ] Did you fare well there?

[Kain looks away. No, Rosa, he personally ended up quite the opposite of well. But that's less important to him.]

[ His hand will get a gentle squeeze of comfort. ]
