He isn't even sure that all of these people are here- he's been gone from Gaia for only a couple weeks, but to him it feels much, much longer. ~~Don't worry Zidane, when he realizes you're not here, he'll bother you when you arrive.~~]

...In this cycle, the manikins were the worse threat. Not only for numbers, but because they could decimate us all. If we all fell to them... there may have been no one left to fight for Cosmos.

[The tone is still a question as much as it is a statement. He wouldn't believe it normally- it sounds far too much like the tricks that the warriors of Chaos tried. But he knows that the cycle was won, and Kain wasn't saying anything to refute that, but rather, was speaking of the past.]

We decided that you would act as a shield, to defend against harm if needed. While my part... was to defeat our allies, knocking them to sleep so that they could be kept safe for the next cycle.

And what of Cosmos? Did she approve of this plan?

She wasn't informed... at first. You had said you would speak with her of our intentions, and I assume that you did.

Perhaps so. If I have begun to gain memories of my own world, memories of a previous cycle are not so impossible in comparison.
