↳ oo1 [ audio ] “ Baby's black balloon makes her fly ”
[ The incessant thrum of raindrops are evident upon the start of the transmission. There's a soft breath — almost like a sigh, though he refrains from speaking for the time being. Instead he remains in his contemplative silence as he studies the dreary rain-washed scene with a sharp gaze. Indifferent but not oblivious to those eerie stares from vacant eyes, he merely turns away, his footsteps sounding hollow as he seeks refuge under a simply decorated archway. The pitter-patter of rain sounds muffled now, creating an almost intimate ambiance to compliment Genesis' melodic lilt. ]
When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end
The goddess descends from the sky
Wings of light and dark spread afar
She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting.
Rain holds the power to mesmerize... Gaze intently enough and you may just catch a tale unfolding. A spectral city conjured from a dream so distant. But what do you suppose would happen if the dream wasn't yours to know, yours to take?
[ Despite the rain there's a peculiar quietness lingering on the line, gently curling around the words that aren't being said. Only the sudden crack of thunder marks the end of one passage, the beginning of another. Genesis' tone is still soft, still conversational, never-mind the frequent bolts of lightning illuminating the dark sky and striking perhaps, a mite too close for comfort. His smirk is almost audible within his next words, the picture being painted in his mind turning a deeper shade of disaster. ]
I'll assume this to be my twist of Fate then, shall I...?

Genesis?
[audio]
[ Her voice is familiar, after all — heard numerous times during his career. Though this has been the first time she's addressed him directly... There's the faintest hint of amusement in his voice now. ]
Your name being...?
[audio]
Cissnei.
[But she's not going to throw around the word "sir" unless she really has to.]
[audio]
[ The name is drawn out in a purr, the sultriness of his tone masking the smidgen of ridicule. ]
Well, now that we happen to be on a first name basis... I'd like a status report of the situation at hand.
[audio]
What exactly do you want to know? The situation on this world is complicated at best.
[audio]
I'd like to have all the information you've acquired thus far.
[audio]
[For such a small girl, she sure could bottle a lot of anger.]
[audio]
[ A fine eyebrow is raised in dubiousness, however, he doesn't press on it for the time being. He brushes off her vexation as though it were nothing. His tone is now almost sickly-sweet, though there is no mistaking that bite. ]
Poor timing to lose your touch, Cissnei. What of Garland's location?
[audio]
[audio]
[audio]
From SOLDIER, Zack and Sephiroth. From the Turks, Tseng, Reno and myself. Rufus ShinRa is here too and several others that I'm not sure you know due to their time differences.
[audio]
...Time differences?
[audio]
[Cissnei really doesn't want to go into the details of what happens in the future. Even in her timeline, she's not entirely sure of Genesis' fate and no one has mentioned a thing to her.]
What exactly is the last thing you remember, if you don't mind?
[audio]
[ It wasn't so simple as having someone wait for him. After all, Sephiroth's journey may have greatly differed to his own. Perhaps that was the reason behind things feeling slightly off in the first place. Who knew what time could have stretched between them? ]
A private spar in the VR training rooms. There was talk of deployment to Wutai but nothing concrete. Does the latter sound at all familiar?
[audio]
If I'm not mistaken, the deployment had already happened some time before my last memory.
[Which makes her realize that Sephiroth might be from a time before hers as well.]
[audio]
[ Cissnei's knowledge was greater than his own regarding the past — his future. The question was on the tip of his tongue but he swallowed it back. What would be the point? He was well aware that his destiny pointed skyward. He'd become the greatest hero, outshining even Sephiroth. ]
Anything else I should be made aware of?
[audio]
[Whether they liked each other or not was independent of the fact that he had a right to know this warning. Cissnei told him and now it was out of her hands if he listens to her or not.]
[audio]
[ Although his tone was dismissive, his reply was delivered only after a brief pause. Her words had sunk in, perhaps somewhere deep down they were even appreciated, however, none of this was evident in his demeanour. Maybe, just maybe a little caution was needed when proceeding — and especially when it came to walking in the arms of a friend he thought he knew all too well. ]
[audio]
[Cissnei disconnects, hoping that it won't be anytime too terribly soon that he calls. Common courtesy, yes, just not one that she wants to follow up so quickly.]
