[ Life for Rosa had recently taken a turn for the very worst. With that mysterious green-haired girl turning up and the moon on a crash course for their planet, not to mention Cecil... Rosa was feeling a bit lost. The Lunar Whale was on its course for the moon again.

Or it had been when Rosa had closed her eyes. When she opens them again, she is very startled to find herself on the ground... and very definitely not in the Lunar Whale anymore. She quickly gets up and looks around.

This... this place. It feels so familiar. And that little ball of fluff coming nearer and turning on the video function for the phone to show her how it works? Definitely familiar. ]

Oh no...

Is something wrong, Kupo? Are the Phones scaring you?

[ Rosa shakes her head and takes the device, not realizing it's... recording this whole conversation. ]

No, I've been here before. I remember how to use this. Thank you.

No problem, Kupo. Do you have questions?

Yes. Where am I? Oh- This doesn't need to be on. Not yet.

[ She glances down and finally turns off the sky phone. ]

[ Later, she'll add on a bit more: ]

It seems I've returned. How many of you remember me, I wonder? How many are still here... Cecil...? Ceodore...

[So Ceodore's been trying to figure out a way to tell his father than he wants to go with Ursula to Narshe. Every time he works up the nerve to broach the subject... something happens. So while he's stewing on it again, he happens to pick up the phone.]

[He knows that woman. HE KNOWS HER! That's his mother! Excitement is tangible and he rushes to respond.]

Mother! Mother, you're here! Where are you? Are you okay?!

Ceodore! [ She looks so surprised but a little, selfishly, glad. ]

I'm in a place called the Tomb of... some unknown king, I think is what the moogle called it. It's nowhere I've ever seen. [ Nowhere that was there last time anyway. ]

Where are you? Are you in Troia? [ Please ask how she knows this. ]

A tomb?

[What is it with Gaia and people showing up in crypts anyway? First Ursula and now Mom.]

Yeah. Father and I both are. Kain and Ursula too.

[Well why wouldn't she know that? She was there with them before. And in a twist of assuming she remembers the last visit...]

He's back to the right age now. Oh! And Kain can walk again!

Your highness! Are you well?

That's what the moogle said. I'm certain this wasn't on the map the last time I was here.

Good... you, Cecil, and Kain. And Ursula as well? Is... Rydia still here?

[ Wait, what. That gets a rather startled look out of her. ] Kain couldn't walk?! What happened?

Porom! I'm as well as can be expected. It's been so long since... [ She stops and shakes her head. ] I'm fine. Are you well, Porom?

There was a...slight problem. But it's been resolved. I'm well.

Ceodore mentioned that you were here before some time ago. Circumstances aside, I'm glad to see another familiar face.

[ She sees that, Porom. Gaia's reared its ugly head to her so many times before. ]

A slight problem? I'm glad it's resolved and you are well. [ Details, she wants them. ]

I- [ Huh...? She looks startled. ] How would he... [ Okay, no, that will get addressed later. ] Familiar faces are always good here. Well, most of them. But I'm glad to see you, Porom. [ Even though it's sad to see so many people she knows at the same time. None of them deserve to be here. ]

Yes. The Devil's Road reappeared with the seal that keeps the spirits inside it broken. But Rydia and Ursula came to my aid, as did many of the other people who were drawn to this world. I managed to reseal it quickly.

[She pauses before continuing.]

-How much of the lore surrounding white magic did you study in your efforts to learn it? Have you heard of the great sage Minwu?

Uh, well... they told me he died. Before I got here. I don't really understand it. But... Mother, you should know this. You were there when I found out. Something to do with possessed stones and demons. Father and Kain both died as a result. Father couldn't hear.

[Any of this ringing a bell? He'll keep rambling hoping it'll jog her memory. Except for the part that involved him falling out of the Viera village.]

Rosa!

[Cecil's so overwhelmingly relieved to see her. One of the last things he remembers of home was ordering Rosa to flee the castle, added to Ceodore telling him most of what happened after that, he's been worried sick about Rosa's uncertain fate. The little detail that she's been here before goes completely over his head -- all that matters is that she's here.]

Where are you? I'll be there as soon as I can.

[ That voice! ]

Cecil! I- [ Wasn't he... younger here? About the same age she was... But she shakes that thought out of her mind and just smiles in relief. It doesn't matter. Her husband is here. ]

Cecil... [ Oh so much worry in that tone, but she'll hide it. If Gaia is still working on the same rules it had way back when, she doesn't want to tell him something he shouldn't know. ]

According to the moogle and the map on my phone, I'm in a place called 'Tomb of the Unknown King.' I think it's a little closer to Troia than I expected. Unless Troia's moved since I was here last.

[ And she honestly wouldn't be surprised if it has. ]

The Devil's Road? I know that wasn't here when I was last... [ forgive her. She's still trying to figure things out again. She sighs wearily. ] They are exceptional friends. I'm not surprised. It's good that the seal has returned. Let us hope it remains that way.

Sage Minwu... He was a very important sage, wasn't he? [ She pauses. ] I studied as much as I could to learn everything I needed to. Is there something you need to learn? [ That idea is odd to her. She's under the impression that Porom is a very accomplished white mage already. ]

[ Blink. This... could this be what people had meant when others had come and gone and not remembered? But she remembers far earlier... was it earlier? Sob her brain; it is hurting. ]

When... did this happen?

[It is Rosa! It takes some experimentation on Cecil's part to actually figure out how to use the map and GPS function, but when he does, he finds her location quickly.]

Yes, it's close enough. I'm leaving right away.

[And he means it. He can already be seen moving around, preparing for the journey. There are few people he would just drop everything for to find: Rosa is one of them. Ceodore is another.]

Have you encountered any monsters there, or are you safe?

Be careful, Cecil...

[ She shakes her head. ] None so far, but I have yet to move far. It... it looks too much like a maze, what I have seen so far.

You are looking for Cecil and Ceodore? I believe they are currently in Troia.

Do not worry for me, Rosa. [And because he knows this is bound to cheer her up:] Ceodore will be with me. Just keep yourself out of harm's way until we arrive. And try not to venture far unless you have to -- it will be more difficult to find you if you become more lost.

So Cecil hasn't left... Yes, thank you.

[ She offers a warm smile. ]

I don't believe we've met. I'm Rosa Harvey. [ Or if they have met before, forgive her lack of memory. ]

[ It both cheers her up and worries her. Protective mother and all that. ] I won't go anywhere. I didn't want to become lost, moreso than I already am.

Well, uh... more than four months ago? I guess. You might have to ask Kain or Rydia. Father doesn't remember.

He has little reason to. He is in charge of Troia.

[Totally misinterpreting what she means. He nods in response to her introduction, then pauses.]

Harvey?

He doesn't? You mean he went home again? [ That makes twice, then. Sob. ] Rydia's here? [ Good. Rosa will have questions for her. ]

Of course. He was the last time I was here.

[ She nods. ]

Cecil is my husband.

He did. Right after Troia was attacked. Ursula and I did what we could until he returned.

[And so changing subjects off himself.]

Rydia's in Alfitaria with Edge. Uh, Ursula will be leaving for Narshe soon.

... that's kind of my fault.
