It sounds like this is it. Before you know it, us "sky people" will be heading back to where we belong. Can't believe I'm saying this, but this place was starting to grow on me. Minus the moogles. They could all disappear and I wouldn't mind, nosiree. They'd be alright if they didn't talk.

I've got nothing else to complain about. It's weird around these parts, but it was kinda nice while it lasted. ...Aw, who am I kidding, I'm just getting restless over here. This Terra business had better get sorted out soon.

[He mumbles the next bit, not really focusing on the screen now.]

I still think I hit my head hard on something running out of there. It would explain the damn moogles.

[ She's clearly surprised that he's taken initiative to contact her. ] I'm fine. What about you?

[Cue awkward looking around anywhere but the screen. Why yes, this is very uncomfortable for him. He thinks meaningful conversations is lame, what do you expect?]

We'll be back on Cocoon soon. Not that I'll be seeing you around much.

Never been better, all things considered. I haveta say, I'm surprised to hear that. Being on the run doesn't fit most people's definition of "fine".

[ Snort. Smirk. ] Look who you're talking to. Being on the run is something I'm used to by now.

So I figured. ...you were an excellent second in command. Thank you for serving under me these past years.

[A pause, as he isn't really sure how to word anything at this point.]

And my apologies once more for not being the man you thought I was.

[ She shakes her head slightly, and pauses before turning the camera around to pan around the area. She's clearly at the Pinnacle Rocks, Ramuh floating some feet away. She swings the camera back around to her face, though she's not really looking at him this time. ] I've got a friend here, so it's not that bad.

I'm worried about Hope and Serah, though.

Lying about who you are and being screwed over aren't the same, Raines. I'm not about to go around blaming you for it. I don't like the situation one bit, but I don't blame you.

[He's tempted to say that he wasn't really getting that impression from him, but now's not the time to start an argument.]

...strange, really, to essentially be receiving a death sentence much more specific than I had ever had before.

[He nods, and looks...a little relieved, really. Hey, he's busted his ass trying to help her and the other l'Cie out on Cocoon, it's perfectly reasonable to be concerned.]

Great, does that mean I don't have to worry about you getting into more trouble? ..I can't do much for Serah now, but I'll keep an eye on Hope if you want. Can't be that hard.

I asked Raines to keep an eye on him, but if you could help..

I'll tell the rest of the Cavalry what happened. They won't think you're some traitor then. It's not much, but it's all I can do.

I appreciate that, but with the situation as severe as it apparently became, whether they listen or not is up in the air.

[He shakes his head, chuckling slightly, though it's more empty than anything.]

This is...strange. All of this.

[ She's grinning now. ] Good luck.

You seem quite displeased with the moogles here. I wonder why is that considering the moogles tend to be the most helpful souls here on Gaia.

Strange doesn't come close to cutting it. I can't stop thinking this is just some screwed-up dream.

[He pauses again, scratching the back of his head while he thinks things over. While Cid has done some pretty shitty things, he's still the same man who convinced Rygdea to stay in the military, and who he followed almost blindly there. That and he knows the reasons behind all of that now. It doesn't really make knowing he had to kill him any easier.]

Real or not, I got something useful out of it. I have a chance of some proper goodbyes. Can't say I'm not thankful for that. You're a good friend, Raines. It was nice knowing you.

[GUESS WHAT. There's a moogle right behind you!]

[He really isn't sure about what he was expecting out of this conversation either way, so he goes quiet again.]

[Great, now he feels like he just said he hates baby chocobos or something.]

I'm not "displeased" with anything. I betcha you'd be wary too if you never saw anything like them before.

[Being taken by surprise by a moogle is kind of unsettling. So he actually jumps a bit and gives a startled yell. Now he's just...staring at the moogle. staring.]

What'd you do that for?!

[The moogle giggles.]
