[The door to the house slams as Tidus tries to wring the last of the water from his hair after practice, looking around for his girlfriend. Maybe she was out...]

[Oh good, there she was - it'd be easier to get this done with now.] Hey uh, you're not in the middle of something are you?

[And he immediately shakes his head at that question.] Nothing's wrong, I just need to talk to you, and I... think it's gonna be kind of confusing?

I mean, I'm still confused, and it happened to me...

Come on, let's sit somewhere else - this is gonna take awhile.

[He'd been thinking about how to tell her this for awhile, and hadn't come up with any sort of satisfactory idea. But he had these friendships with people she definitely didn't know, soooo... At practice that day he'd just decided to get it over with and blurt it out.]

[Tidus takes her hand and leads her to the front window seat, taking a seat with his back in the corner and facing out into the room.]

You know how I came to Spira from Zanarkand? And now we're here? I don't... think... I'm not stuck to a world all that good...

[Don't worry, he's still confused himself. And it shows.]

[He shakes his head, trying to sort this out.]

It looks like... I got taken somewhere else, too, because I remember things that didn't happen, at home or in Spira. And I remember guys who're here now that aren't from our world, and they know me - they know a lot about me. I don't remember everything, not by a long shot, but.... it happened. Somehow, it really happened.

I think... I think that's what happened with them, in their own ways... but I think mine was before that. I don't know, I keep trying to sort all of this out but I don't have everything so there's these big gaps...

[He shakes his head, whether out of frustration or confusion, who knows.]

It's all coming back in bits and pieces, and most of the pieces that I'm getting are about Cloud and Firion - those two, you've seen me talk to them with the phones, right? They were there with me, and some other guys that are here now but it doesn't look like they remember... And Dad. And Kefka.

[...Huh? Tidus looks up at her, now a little confused by her just... accepting this.]

You... You believe me?

Not with stuff from home, with you and Lulu and everyone - but they can tell me stuff from over there. They have been, but it doesn't make a lot of sense until I remember it for myself.

[He reaches over to take her hand, linking their fingers together.]

Cloud said Tifa didn't believe him about it. Maybe she does now that Firion's around; he's from a completely different world than anyone else we know. Me and him were best friends over there - I guess kind of like brothers.

[And Tidus smiles at her.]

I think you'd like him - he's a good guy.

Hey, don't worry about it. It's clearing up - it's just taking awhile. I'll get it all back.

[He leans over and kisses the side of her head, resting his against hers and not leaning back.]

And you'll meet him, definitely. I want him to come down here for a few days, so he can meet you and we can talk.

I think so. I don't know if he'll stay here, but if he wants to, I think it'd be cool. He's staying with Cloud and his band right now, and they're not too far off.

[Tidus looks confused for a moment - she'd already met Cloud, hadn't she?]

I thought you already had - him and Tifa, and their kids?

Okay, him too. We'll figure it out. [And then he grins.] Cloud copied me, you know - asked if it was hard to ask someone to marry you.

Kind of. He asked if it was hard, I said I knew I had to do it, otherwise I'd just chicken out and not get around to it for a few years. I think he got the hint.

[But it sounds like things haven't been going all that smoothly for them lately - which he stays quiet on.]

Yeah, a couple of times. He doesn't talk much, really - he never seemed to have a path, really. Kept talking about not knowing his reason for doing stuff.

Maybe, but he seemed okay with it. I don't remember if he found it - but I think he was able to go on anyway. And he helped out a lot of people there.

[And he sees that frown, though barely.]

Maybe you can make him smile.

[Oh god that laughing where everyone thought they were crazy. Tidus started laughing again at the memory - and the completely implausible idea that Cloud would put up with it. Seriously, that was hysterical.]

[He was still laughing a little and really grinning at the idea.]

He won't do it, he's way too serious. We were always trying to get him to lighten up.

That might work. Who knows, he's kind of weird.

He's really... focused. And he still doesn't know what he's doing.

[Tidus just shrugs; there's really not much way to describe it.] He's a good guy, he really is, but I don't think he knows what he wants, yet.

Yeah, and maybe some alcohol or something. [Or some noogies, but Tidus would apply those at random.]

Huh? Why not? [Tidus gives her a confused look.]

[He's about to ask why... and then it hits him. Yeah, that... wouldn't be good.] Not for me, I promise. Just him. [Tidus kisses her temple again, trying to reassure her.] He's just really stiff.

[He just didn't want to be the type of guy whose family hated him. Having grown up like that, it wasn't something he wanted to repeat. Tidus raises both arms to hook them around her and pull her into him comfortably, letting his head rest on hers.]

We're there for him. Me and Firion and his friends from his home. They came to see me in jail.

[And he's honestly taken aback by that, his eyes widening as he just has no idea what brought this on. His arms tighten around her, but he definitely looks surprised.]

Huh? No, you didn't - you had to go see Anima, you had something you had to do. I hated being there, but nothing happened to me.

You didn't do anything you need to apologize for.

Hey, I mean it. You needed to be where you were. [He'd survived. Jail would've been much better with her, sure, but he'd been nothing more than frustrated, angry, and bored.]
