[Action/Locked to Penelo]
[After her standard morning training, Mjrn passes through Lindblum's gate and strides toward the docks. The chatter of the people around her is more distracting than usual, with talk about the airship races and the upcoming ball, but she remains focused. Her pace remains steady and she reaches the docks without deviation, Chit in tow.
Upon entering the airship that has become home for the time being, the young Viera provokes a confused noise from her cockatrice friend as she doesn't head for her room immediately. Instead, she pauses by the room Penelo had chosen. Given the hour, she's reasonably certain Penelo ought to be awake...but knocks quietly, just in case.]

Knock at the door gets her attention though and she opens it with a bright smile.]
Mjrn! Come in!

I am not interrupting?

[She headed in further, clasping her hand before her.]
I...seek your advice.
no subject
Sure. What is it? I'll help if I can.
no subject
There is a formal celebration at hand. I would attend, but need proper attire. Yet, I would not trust my judgment alone. Might you join me, to seek it?

[Penelo laughed and turned towards the doors. She'd grown to have an eye for fashion through the years of sky pirating. Spare gil went to airship parts or clothing, depending on which pirate won the day.]

There had been a ball that I -we- attended, many months ago. The dress I wore then was beautiful...but I hope for Gaian attire that is less restricting.
[She wrinkles her nose, less than enthused at how much clothing the typical Gaian wore.]

We'll find something perfect for us both. I wonder how they manage to move around in so much fabric. They'd die of heat stroke in Dalmasca.

[Mjrn shakes her head, utterly baffled.]
no subject
Well, let's get going. If nothing else, maybe we can have something made.
no subject
There. It is a beginning.
no subject
This one's promising, but I can't say I like the neckline.
[It's a soft peach colored dress, but with a lace inset that clearly would cover even the neck.]
no subject
Far too restricting. I suspect you would come to detest it before the night is over. There must be a better design....
[She glances around, then pauses upon finding a black dress with a green vine design. The skirt seems a bit long to her, though.]
no subject
That's pretty, but the skirt... I wonder if it could be taken up without ruining the effect of the design.
no subject
The design, it is perfect, but...I would prefer a skirt which allowed more movement. I shall place this aside, but suspect that the search yet continues.
no subject
This one is pretty, even though it's formal. It's regal, don't you think?
no subject
It is, at that. Quite beautiful, though I wonder if it will be too heavy. You can try it and see?
no subject
[She hefts the dress, good indication that it is in fact too heavy and takes it to be tried on.]
no subject
no subject
I don't think I'm meant to wear something like this.
no subject
It is beautiful...but it does not suit you. You are meant to move more freely, not be weighed down thus.
no subject
[A soft sigh, and then she turns to go back. On the way, she pauses, fingering the fabric of a dress thoughtfully.]
You should try this one.
no subject
It would be as though I were encased in water. Is the slit too high?
[Viera notions of modesty are far different, but she's aware enough of hume standards now to wonder how suitable it will be for the ball.]
