Unfortunately as much as I'd like to cut ties with the man, I have been asked to carry out my current contract so as not to cast suspicion upon certain parties. Once the current contract is completed however, one can be certain that I have no plans currently to remain in his employ.

The Marquis spoke of a stone called 'Nethicite' and stressed more than once of the dangers such a stone would present should the doctor create and use it.

Nethecite is a foul thing, yet in Gaia it holds no strength. Should Cid create is, the use would be limited to powering small machines and eliminating magickal ability.
